 158. Dragon Bubbles: a calming story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:21

Oliver the Elephant and Henrietta Hippo blow bubbles in the pool. Dragon joins them and playfully adds dragon bubbles to the mix. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Dragon Bubbles" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:16 Dragon Bubbles Excerpt: Then the dragon heard something. It sounded a little like air bubbling up to the surface of a spring. Bloop, Bloop, Bloop. So the interested dragon turned to look at the pool. Sure enough, there were bubbles popping on the surface. The dragon looked a little closer and noticed that there were two eyes and two ears right behind the bubbles. The cautious dragon backed up as something began to rise out of the pool. “Hi! I’m Henrietta!” the hippopotamus said with a gigantic smile. The relieved dragon relaxed, and nodded a hello to the little hippo. Feeling curious about the bubbles, the dragon took a deep dragon breath in and out and the fire danced about until it revealed a question mark, followed by a the image of bubbles popping on the surface of the pond. “Oh!” Henrietta said, with a wide grin. “You want to know how I made the bubbles. Like this.” The little hippo took a deep dragon breath in, dunked her nose in the water, and blew the air out through her nose. Big bubbles floated up to the surface of the pool, followed by smaller and smaller bubbles. She lifted her snout back out and smiled at the dragon.  448. Big Pond | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:04

Dylan the duck wants a place to swim. His friend Zara is eager to help him. What will she do? Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:47 Big Pond Excerpt: Zara the Kitten napped in the sunlight with her friend Dylan the Duck. The cozy warmth of her sunny spot caused the little kitten to purr. As she relaxed, a cloud drifted across the sky, covering the sun for just a moment. With that interruption, Zara sat up and Dylan quacked. It was a good time to get up. The little kitten hopped off the couch and waited while Dylan waddled his way down to the floor. Zara felt thirsty, so she hurried to her water fountain for a drink. As she did, Dylan waddled over and started to step into Zara’s water. Zara meowed and moved quickly, so that her friend would not be able to wade in her dish. Dylan quacked at her. He needed to swim. The little kitten understood her friend needed water, but she did not want stinky feet in her drink. She thought a minute about how to help her friend. Then she smiled as an idea filled her head. Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “The Build" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male The Build Excerpt: Ellie the Excavator woke with a smile, as usual.  She was ready to continue the tunnel project and hoped that the others were ready as well.  Sunshine spilled into her cozy garage as the door slowly rolled open. Ellie rumbled happily out of her garage, excited to see the others. Of course Danny the Dump Truck was already out and waiting for Ellie.  He felt excited, too. “What took you so long?” Danny asked with a twinkle in his eye. “I didn’t want to wake you,” Ellie replied, smiling. “Are you ready to work on the tunnel again?” “I sure am!  I think the train noticed us last time, and wants to use it as well.  So we had better get going,”  Danny said. “Hold on, Danny.”  Ellie understood his excitement; she wanted to impress the train, too.  “We’re going to need the others today.  We finished digging the trench, remember?” Then the little excavator spotted Dizzy the Concrete Mixer.  Dizzy drove over towards them, already spinning. Ronald the Roller joined them as well, eager to get started. Then the Contractor walked out to the construction crew. “OK, everyone.” He paused.  “Ellie and Danny have done a great job digging the tunnel carefully through the forest.” Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.  446. Wobbly Wheelbarrow | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:04

Wanda the Wheelbarrow wonders what will happen today. As she waits, the door to the shed opens. Max and Mia want to do some gardening and they need her help! Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:22 Wobbly Wheelbarrow Excerpt: A flicker of light rolled through the opening below the red shed doors. The little wheelbarrow smiled as light traveled up, up, up, between the doors, finally spilling through the window. It was morning! Wanda the Wheelbarrow loved watching the sunrise. She wondered what she might do today. Would she help a new tree find a home? Would she help make a new bed for some colorful flowers? Maybe she would help make a garden. Her mind raced with the possibilities. She needed to calm herself, so Wanda took a deep Dragon Breath, in and out. That felt better. The little wheelbarrow felt a bit calmer. Then she heard the doors squeak. Someone was coming! The little orange wheelbarrow could hardly wait for the door to open. Sunshine flooded into the shed. As Wanda grew accustomed to the light, she noticed a little boy and girl standing there. “What should we do today?” the girl asked the boy. “I don’t know, Mia,” he replied. “I was thinking about the garden, and what we need to get started.” Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.  154. Dragonfly Dance: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:55

Dharma the Dragonfly enjoys her little pond home. The others feel the love in her dragonfly dance. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Dragonfly Dance" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Dragonfly Dance Excerpt: Dharma the Dragonfly had been admiring the forest’s beauty as she hovered over the little pond. Now that the breeze had stirred things up a bit, she laughed. The trees wobbled in their reflections with the movement on the pond. Dharma danced from one end of the pond to the other, smiling at the white lotus and the purple water lilies as she zipped in and around the flowers. The little dragonfly wondered at how the lotus sprung up from the water, as she danced twirling around their bright petals. The water lilies floated with a gentle rock as the breeze rippled the pond. Dharma continued to dance. A frog hopped onto the lily pad and croaked a ribbit, admiring the dragonfly ballet. Dharma smiled politely and zig-zagged along the edge of the pond. She hovered once more as she noticed that the ripples across the pond begin to smooth out. The pond became as still as glass and the flowers and trees appeared crystal-clear in the watery mirror again. Dharma noticed that there seemed to be another dragonfly staring right at her. The other dragonfly was a shimmering blue green, just like Dharma. When Dharma zigged, the other dragonfly zigged. When Dharma zagged, the other dragonfly zagged. And when Dharma hovered, the other dragonfly hovered. Dharma remembered that the pond was still once again and it reflected the trees and flowers very accurately. So she flew away from the pond, and so did the other dragonfly. Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently. Anora leads Javier, Brian, and Winfield through the forest to meet Dragon. Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:28 Dragon's New Friends Excerpt: Anora danced in her living room, eager to see Javier and Brian. They would be there any minute. She noticed a bit of movement outside and hurried to the front door. Even before Javier and Brian had pushed the doorbell, Anora had opened the door, smiling widely. “Are you guys ready for another hike?” she asked. Javier and Brian returned her smile and shouted, “Yes!” They were just as excited as Anora to be exploring the forest. Anora skipped out the door and said, “Follow me!” She led them through the meadow next to her house. The tall grasses and wildflowers rippled with each passing breeze. The three friends stopped for a moment and took a deep Dragon Breath, in and out. “Ahhh,” Javier said with a smile, enjoying the delicate scent of the flowers.   Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.  153. Sharing Roots: a calming meditation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:07

Dragon is inspired by a story about the enchanted forest sharing roots and growing closer together. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Sharing Roots" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Sharing Roots Excerpt: The animals gathered at the cozy cave, eager to hear about the train and the new lands the dragon had been exploring. The dragon yawned, feeling very tired, and took a deep dragon breath, in and out. The dragon could see the curiosity on the animals' faces and decided to tell them about the train. So the dragon took a deep breath in and out and through the flickering flames, showed everyone the train, with people moving on and off. Then the dragon took another dragon breath in and out and through the flowing fire, showed the people getting off and on again in a different place. The place looked very different to the forest animals. “Oh! So that’s what the train does,” Sachi the Snake said. “It carries people from place to place. But what is that place they are going to?” The dragon smiled and took one more deep dragon breath, in and out. A book appeared in the fire and opened, with a question mark following. The dragon looked at Odin, the great horned owl, with a smile and a flutter of eyelids. The gentle owl smiled and said, “I would be happy to tell a story.” So the owl began, reminding all the animals of the unity in the forest.  441. Off-Road Adventures: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:46

— Javier and Anora join Brian for a hike as he tries out Winfield's off-road wheels on different terrain. Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:52 Off-Road Adventures Excerpt: Brian loved watching the sun come up in the morning, especially when he felt there was a wonderful day ahead...and that was just about every day! Eager to greet the sun today, Brian and Winfield, his wheelchair, rolled over to the window. Then, gently moving the delicate curtain aside, Brian peered out. Sunlight streamed through the window. Brian took a deep Dragon Breath, in and out, enjoying the warmth. What a beautiful day! Now it was time for breakfast! Brian and Winfield rolled over to the kitchen table to have some breakfast with his mom and dad. As Brian ate, he gazed at the front door, waiting for a knock. He hoped Javier and Anora would arrive soon. Brian could hardly wait to try a hike in the woods. Now that Winfield had some off-road tires, Brian wanted to explore everything he could. With a full belly, Brian rolled his dishes over to the sink to help his dad and mom clean up. As they washed, dried, and put them away, Brian imagined what it would be like to roll through the woods without a sidewalk anywhere in sight. Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Color Helpers," and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female Color Helpers Excerpt: It was an ordinary day. There were some clouds in the sky. The air felt warm as Emily and Billy left with their dad to shop for their school supplies. Emily felt excited! It was her first time shopping for school. She was starting kindergarten this year and couldn’t wait to have a backpack just like her big brother. As they walked down the aisle with the supplies, Emily’s eyes grew big. There was so much to choose. She began to feel nervous, and decided that to make it easy, she would just choose everything green. Emily quickly picked up a green binder, 6 green folders, and 7 green notebooks. It was a lot to carry and Emily struggled to hold everything until …she dropped it all on the ground. That startled Billy who had been carefully considering what binder he should get. “Emily, are you ok? I know it’s your favorite color, but why do you have all green?” Billy asked, seeing the emerald sea of supplies surrounding his little sister. “Well, green is my favorite color. With so many choices, I felt overwhelmed, and just figured if I picked all green, then I would be done, and wouldn’t feel nervous anymore.”  Emily said. “Would you like some help?” Billy asked. “Yes, please!”  Emily said. “OK.” Then Billy added with a smile, “first, let’s try something to help you calm.” Today’s Meditation: Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe.  437. Dad’s Job: a bedtime story and meditation for kids | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:06

— Owen spends the day with his dad at work and learns the value of listening and a caring smile. Narrator: Male Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:40 Dad's Job Excerpt: Sunlight slipped through the shades in Owen’s room. As the light sparkled on his pillow, Owen blinked. Then he sat up excitedly. Today was the day! Owen hopped out of bed, practically running to his closet. He grabbed his favorite purple collared shirt and his nicest pair of pants. Owen wanted to look his best for his day with Dad. Now that he was dressed Owen zipped downstairs to have breakfast. Dad grinned, glad to see Owen felt so enthusiastic for their day together. After all, he was just as excited as Owen. As Owen finished eating his breakfast, Dad asked, “Are you ready to go to work with me?” Owen beamed at his dad. “I’ve been waiting for this forever! Let’s go!” With breakfast finished and the dirty dishes washed, it was time to leave for work. Owen and his dad walked out the door and headed to the wellness center. Birds sang, breaking the quiet with a cheerful melody. Owen took a deep dragon breath, in and out, enjoying the fresh air. Then his dad took a deep dragon breath, in and out, and said, “This is such a peaceful morning! I’m so glad we can share this time together, Owen.” Today’s Meditation: Feel your body fill with warmth and love as you send your loving energy to the world.  150. What’s This? a mindful bedtime story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:55

What's this construction project in the forest? The Train is curious and can't wait until it's finished. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “What's This?" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Female What's This? Excerpt: The setting sun painted the clouds in a pinkish hue against the blue sky. Before long the sky would change colors as well, from blue to orange to red to deep blue. The Sparkling Train smiled as it watched the painting in the sky transform with the change in lighting. It was time for the sunset roll. The Sparkling Train slowly pulled out of the station and began to hum along its magnetic tracks, ready to check on everyone as night fell. The first land the train approached was the beach. The Sparkling Train took a good look and saw that the blue penguins were all parading back to their homes. Slowly, the train approached the beach station. The doors opened with a whoosh and people filed on. As the train waited, it noticed the sand bucket was snuggled into the warm sand, and the palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze. Yes, everything looked fine at the beach. Once everyone was seated, the train continued on with the sunset roll. Before the Sparkling Train passed into the land where the people lived, it passed through a small section of the enchanted forest. The train looked, hoping to see the dragon again. It was nice to have some company on the starlight ride. The train didn’t see the dragon, but did notice something was going on in that part of the forest. The Sparkling Train decided to look more closely at the magical forest next time, to try to figure it out. Today’s Meditation: Relax in the grass as you imagine sunlight warming you from head to toe.  435. First Snowfall: a mindful bedtime story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:54

Owen enjoys the first snowfall of the season by going sledding with a new friend. Narrator: Female Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 9:15 First Snowfall Excerpt: According to the calendar, the first official day of winter wouldn’t come for another month, but to Owen, it seemed that winter had definitely arrived in his neighborhood! Overnight, the first snow of the season had fallen all across Ahway Island, covering the neighborhoods, forests, and beaches with a thick blanket of snow. Fluffy white flakes piled on top of each other on the window sill as Owen gazed outside. He watched, entranced, as more and more flakes slowly floated down to the ground, covering the snow that had fallen overnight with ever-thickening sheets across the front lawn. Owen smiled. He had always loved falling snow, and the first snow of the year was always a particularly joyous event. He knew that when he went outside, he would experience that special, quiet hush unique to a world covered with freshly fallen snow. Owen watched for a few more minutes, just quietly enjoying the sight. The peaceful beauty of a snowy world was one of his favorite things and he just wanted to watch silently for a little while. But after a couple minutes, a thought occurred to Owen. The snow was probably thick enough for sledding! Gazing through the window, Owen looked down the block to see the hill at the end of his street. All the children in the neighborhood called the hill “the sledding hill,” no matter what time of the year it was. Today, the hill stood tall and white and ready for some the season’s first sledding tracks! Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.  149. Puppy Pick-Up: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:04

Pal the Puppy feels bored now that the kids have gone to to school. He waits for a puppy pick-up at the bus stop to find them. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Puppy Pick-Up" and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Puppy Pick-Up Excerpt: The little puppy darted in between and around the boy and girl’s feet as they rushed around the kitchen.  He was happy they were up and about on this beautiful morning. “Watch out, Pal!”  they said. What Pal didn’t know was why the boy and girl were rushing at all. This was the time of day that the puppy sat at their feet while they ate breakfast.  Pal would relax as the boy rubbed his ears and the girl scratched his chin.  Today was different. With a 'see-you-later' and not nearly enough petting, the boy and girl walked out of the front door.  The little puppy hoped up onto the couch to look out the window.  Where were they going? Pal barked, trying to get their attention.  The little puppy watched as the boy and girl walked along the sidewalk.  Then the puppy barked so loud he fell backwards into the soft cushions on the couch.  Pal popped back up and thought about the bags he had seen the boy and girl carry.  He realized they were going to school. Today’s Meditation: Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe.
