 Tent Tales: a mindful children’s story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:45

As the kids file into the classroom,Tyra the tent wonders who she will need her help today. Listen in to hear her tent tales. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Wheel Fun” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Tent Tales” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:50 Narrator: Female Tent Tales Excerpt: As they got ready for the day, Tyra watched, wondering how she would help today. The little tent had been set up in the corner of the room near the bookshelves and windows.  She was there if the kids needed to regulate their feelings, so that they were ready to learn in all the activities of the day. Tyra tent was proud of her role in helping the children learn.  Inside the entrance to the little tent there was a paper that listed the rules.  Once inside the tent, first, the kids needed to take three deep dragon breaths in and out (deep breath).  Just like that.  Once they finished with the deep breaths, they needed to choose a “feel better” activity.  Tyra had all kinds.  She had lots of books, picture books, chapter books, books of poems, short stories, science, and history books.  The little tent had fidget spinners, squishy foam balls, soft sand, and containers with ooey goey gel dripping on the inside.  The little tent had music to quietly humm along with, papers and crayons to draw with, and a list of exercises.  The exercises included: to give themselves a tight hug, to push their hands together and hold, to do sit ups, push ups, or even a little yoga.  Tyra especially liked the cobra, cat, and cow poses.  In the corner the little tent had a small bean bag chair, and a blanket for sitting quietly.  There were so many options. Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.  Wheel Fun: a relaxing short story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:04

Winfield and Brian are ready for wheel fun! With the new wheelchair wheels they are ready to play anywhere. Where will they go first? Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:54 Narrator: Female Wheel Fun Excerpt: Brian smiled when Ian said, “Hi Brian! Do you want to play with us? We can move over to the black top.” “You don’t have to move.” Brian answered proudly.  “I’ll join you right where you are.” The other kids stopped playing, surprised at what Brian said and curious.  With everyone’s attention Winfield turned his wheels towards the field and Brian pushed forward. They eased off of the sidewalk and onto the grass. Winfield held his breath, hoping he wouldn’t sink into the soft ground like he had so many times before. The bouncy wide wheels spread across the uneven ground. Even though the grass felt really soft, Winfield could tell rolling across it would be fine. He had to work a little more to move, and Brian had to work a little harder too. But here they were, playing with the others on the grass. Today’s Meditation: Draw gentle shapes in the soothing sand as you prepare for today's story.  Tractor Trails: a soothing kid’s story when you need a break | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:50

Trenton the tractor finds a way to make his chores fun. The animals and other farm vehicles are soothed by Trenton's singing on the tractor trails. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Astonishing Acorn” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Tractor Trails” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:25 Narrator: Male Tractor Trails Excerpt: The yellow tractor smiled, knowing that they could already smell the sweet scent, and eagerly awaited some fresh hay.  As he rumbled past the different enclosures, the sheep, goats, and rabbits all perked up, excited by the sweet aroma of freshly cut hay.   The bunnies were especially fun to watch.  They hopped around excitedly and even stood up on their hind legs, begging for just a tiny pile. Trenton finished one row and then carefully turned to start the next.  He was beginning to feel a little bored, and knew he needed to do something to help himself pay attention.  If he drifted off his path, he might miss some hay, and it’s always good to watch where you are going. Then the little yellow tractor heard something in the distance.  There was a soft melody drifting along on the wind.  Trenton smiled.  He knew what he would do to keep himself alert.  The little yellow tractor would make music!  His engine already rumbled away with a decent beat, and the mower whirred away in the background. Now the tractor just needed to add a bit of melody. Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.  Astonishing Acorn: a mindful bedtime story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:11

Nutsy and Peanut the squirrels have some extra acorns in their winter stash. They decide to plant one. That astonishing acorn will produce an entire tree. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:54 Narrator: Male Astonishing Acorn Excerpt: As Dragon enjoyed the scent, two squirrels, Nutsy and Peanut, scampered across the path. Peanut held a plump acorn gently in her mouth. Noticing Dragon, Peanut skidded to a stop and ran back. “Hi Dragon!” She said, taking the acorn out of her mouth. Dragon smiled and took a deep dragon breath, in and out (deep breath) the smoke and gentle flames formed a question mark that hovered in the air. Peanut looked at it and responded, “Oh we have extra acorns from the winter, and so we’re going to plant this one. We could always use more trees!” Her tail twitched excitedly. Dragon smiled and nodded. Nutsy scampered up next to Peanut asking, “Want to help?” Dragon’s smile grew wider. “Great!” Nutsy said. “Follow us! We found a great spot!” Peanut gently placed the acorn back in her mouth and scampered after Nutsy. Dragon followed the two squirrels as they weaved through the forest trees. Eventually the trio came to an open field framed by a gentle creek. Sunshine warmed their faces as the squirrels hopped from stone to stone to cross the creek. Then they zipped right to the center. “I think, right here is a good spot.” Nutsy said, tapping the ground with his foot. Then he started digging. A flurry of grass and soil flew into the air as the squirrel dug into the ground. Today’s Meditation: Rest among the twinkling stars with today's meditation.  Silly Bunny: a calming meditation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:40

Betty Bunny notices a bunny statue in her house. Silly bunny, she thinks the statue is real. Being kind, Betty welcomes the statue. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story, “Blissful Books” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Silly Bunny” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 11:12 Narrator: Female Silly Bunny Excerpt: It was a quiet day in the little house.  Betty bunny settled into a warm sunbeam and relaxed, kicking out her back legs.  The sun lit up her tan and white fluffy fur. She had already been quite busy hopping around the living room, and eating her carrot greens.  Looking out across the room, she noticed something different.  There appeared to be another bunny, sitting in a sunbeam.  Not realizing the new bunny was a statue, Betty sat right up.  The dark brown bunny statue seemed to be relaxed as well. Her feet were kicked out behind her, and her front paws daintily crossed.  The bunny statue’s ears, however, were standing up and alert. Betty bunny decided to hop over and introduce herself to the new bunny.  So hop, hop, hop, Betty crossed the floor.  The other bunny was very still and quiet.  Betty thought, maybe the bunny is sleeping.  She didn’t want to wake the other bunny, so Betty settled down next to her and waited.  Forest Friends: a relaxing short story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:09

Dragon's forest friends stop by the cozy cave to check on Dragon after the thunderstorm. Dragon is grateful for their kindness. Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Spinning Ideas” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Forest Friends” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:24 Narrator: Male Forest Friends Excerpt: Rain drip-dropped on the leaves of the trees in the enchanted forest.  A soothing rhythm echoed through the woods, and the dragon smiled, tapping along with the beat.  The rain poured louder and faster until there was a rumble, crash, and flash.  The clouds had reached the peak of their song. The dragon, startled by the sudden noises, zipped back into the cozy cave, and curled into a tight ball with eyes and ears covered.  Meanwhile, the pitter-patter of the rain relaxed, and then stopped. The forest animals peered out of their homes.  Squirrels zipped around the treetops, shaking the rain water off of the leaves and onto the animals below.  Bunnies hopped out from under their trees.  Turtles, frogs, and toads crawled out from the ponds, and the birds began to sing delicate melodies. With the pounding rhythm of the rain finished, all the animals wondered the same thing.  Where had their friend dragon gone? Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Little Loons," and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Little Loons Excerpt: The waters on the lake sat peaceful and still. A gentle mist danced across the smooth surface, circling rocks and reeds. Through the peaceful calm a gentle song surfaced. Leland Loon called to his baby chicks. It was time for them to come back to the nest and eat. The little loons stopped exploring the smooth surface of the lake and listened. They heard their papa’s call and began to follow the sound of his song. The little loons felt hungry and were ready for dinner. The loons hooted back to their papa. Listening carefully, Leland hooted again, so that the little ones would know where to go. Slowly the five little loons floated into view. As they came closer together one little loon bumped into her brothers. “Sorry,” she said, lowering her head. “I’m just so hungry.” Her brother sighed, “You always run into us.” “I know,” she said, “There’s just always something exciting to see or listen to. I get distracted.” Leland smiled. He knew how she felt. There were a lot of wondrous things to see and hear in the world. “Luna, when you finish your dinner come see me.” “OK,” Luna said. The 5 little loons ate their dinner, and with a full belly little Luna coasted over to Leland. “Luna, you are right. There is a lot to see and hear. I understand your curiosity. It’s great. I would like to show you how to pay attention to what is happening right around you at the same time. Do you know why?"  Checking In: a relaxation and story for your naptime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:36

Danny the dump truck feels a little down. Dory has an idea. Maybe checking in to the maintenance garage will help him feel better. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:24 Narrator: Male Checking In Excerpt: As the little dump truck trudged forward slowly, Dory, the other dump truck, drove past him and asked, “Is everything ok Danny?” “Yeah. Why?” Danny mumbled, busy concentrating on driving forward. “You’re moving pretty slow this morning, and your tires look flat.” Dory responded. “I wanted to ask you about that.” Danny said. “My tires are really squishy, and my wheels hurt. I’m having trouble moving today. Have you ever felt like that?” Dory said, “Yes, when I have a flat tire. I usually go to the maintenance garage to check my tires and oil every other week, so my tires stay full. When did you get your last check up?” Danny laughed and said, “Oh I’m too busy to take time for that. I probably haven’t stopped by that garage for almost a year. I’m a healthy truck.” Today’s Meditation: Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:05 Narrator: Female Wallaby Waltz Excerpt: The wallabies enjoyed some fresh green grasses and some sweet and delicate flowers. With a full belly, Willow felt curiosity encouraging her to explore. A butterfly landed on her nose and then fluttered away. The little wallaby leapt about following the butterfly. As the colorful bug settled onto the high branch of a tree, the little wallaby noticed what seemed to be a couple of furry rocks rolling towards her. Alarmed she stomped her foot and quickly hopped back into her mother’s pouch. Willow mother chuckled and said, “It’s ok Willow. Meet Willie and Wylie Wombat.” Today’s Meditation: Happiness and love flow through you in this meditation.
