Fragrant Flowers: a story and meditation for your bedtime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:02

Ballet Bunny hops around the forest to find the new spring flowers. She encounters Dragon and kids, who ask Ballet what she's doing! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:45 Narrator: Female Fragrant Flowers Excerpt: Ballet Bunny stretched and hopped out of her nest after a refreshing afternoon nap. She was ready to explore the forest and see what new plants were waking up today. The little bunny loved springtime. Already Ballet had found daffodils, tulips and irises coloring people’s lawns at the edge of the forest. The little bunny stopped cleaning her ears as she heard giggling in the distance and decided she would start today’s adventure by discovering the source of the laughter. Ballet hopped through trees, bushes, and tall grasses stopping to listen for more giggles. The giggles grew louder and louder, as the little bunny hopped along. Ballet knew she was getting closer. Finally, Ballet hopped into a field of low grasses. She flattened herself down and looked around. As the little bunny scanned the field, she immediately recognized Dragon and sprinted over to her friend. Today’s Meditation: Today, notice loving energy flowing through your body, from your feet up to your head.  Dragon on Ice: a relaxation and story for your naptime routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:03

Hello everyone! We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Please enjoy “Dragon on Ice” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Dragon follows the train for another adventure. This time it's Dragon on ice as Dragon explores a mysterious snowy land. Will Dragon make a new friend there? Narrator: Male Dragon on Ice Excerpt: The dragon gently landed on the white snow.  Brrrr! It was a bit cold, so the dragon decided to keep moving.  As the dragon took a step forward, all of a sudden, both feet slipped and the dragon flipped.  Snow flew up as the dragon landed belly side up.  Eyes wide from surprise, the dragon took a deep breath in and out and slowly stood back up.  This was a cold and slippery place.  The dragon extended talons to grip the ice.  Slowly and carefully the dragon trudged forward, occasionally slipping.  It was a lot of work, and the dragon’s feet were getting cold.  Then the dragon had an idea, and leaned over, and took a deep breath in and out, breathing fire on the ground.  Maybe that would warm things up.  The dragon also wondered what was underneath the ice and snow.  With another deep breath in and out the dragon admired how easily the snow and ice melted away.  Something Nice: a mindful story for kids | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:45

Tad & Tanner Toad share something nice with the other animals in the forest! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:53 Narrator: Male Something Nice Excerpt: Tanner the Toad noticed his friend among the lavender blooms and happily hopped over. Once he reached a spot where Tad could see him, Tanner waved and said, “Good morning, Tad.” Tad smiled at his friend and after reading the pleasant greeting off of his friend’s lips, he replied, “Morning, Tanner! I’m glad you’re up. It’s such a nice day and I’m glad I can share it with my kindest and most adventurous friend.” Tanner blushed at the compliment, and then added, “and I am looking forward to another adventure with my best friend. What did you have in mind for today?” Tad finished reading what Tanner had said, then a twinkle sparkled in his eye as he responded, “I want to share something nice with everyone in the forest!” Tanner smiled and nodded. He thought Tad’s idea was a good one. The two toads continued hopping along their favorite path. Soon they met a friend. George the Turtle slowly wandered toward the toads.  Train Game: a bedtime meditation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:17

James is sad that it's too rainy to play at the park. But Julia has an idea for a super-fun indoor game. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:39 Narrator: Male Train Game Excerpt: It was a Sunday afternoon in deep summer, and James longed to be outside playing at the park. He pressed his nose up against the front window, looking out at the park across the street. If he looked carefully, he could see the playground in the distance. But there was to be no playing in the park today. On Friday evening, there was a big thunderstorm. Mom’s phone buzzed several times that evening to warn people about the severe weather. James was scared about the buzzing at first, but Mom explained that he didn’t need to be afraid. It was actually good that the phone was buzzing, because that way, everyone could know that it wasn’t safe to go outside and play! But, all day long on Saturday, it had rained, and rained, and rained. And now it was still raining! Even if it stopped raining right now, James knew he couldn’t go to the park today no matter what. Mom said the park would be too muddy and would need to dry out for a couple of days. James sighed again, even louder. Then he “harrumphed” a little bit. This made his sister, Julia, who was sitting on the couch, look up. “What’s wrong, James?” “You know what’s wrong! It’s raining and we can’t go to the park!” James exclaimed. “I think it’s never going to stop raining and we won’t ever get to go to the park again because it’ll be all flooded forever!” “That’s silly,” Julia said. “It’s going to stop sometime and then everything will dry up.” James sniffled a little and rubbed his eyes. “But I really wanted to play with you at the park today.” Julia got up off the couch, and walked over to James by the window. She gave him a hug. “I know, I want to play there, too. But I have an idea for a game we can play inside. Do you want to play with me?” Today’s Meditation: Feel your body fill with warmth and love as you send your loving energy to the world.  Digging Up Fun! a mindful bedtime story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:17

Scotty the sand scoop meets Dragon. As they are busy digging up fun, Dragon leaves some magic with the scoop. How will the kids respond? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Best Friends" this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Digging Up Fun!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Digging Up Fun! Excerpt: The little sand scoop said, “Hi! Want to play?” as he waved his bucket. The gentle dragon smiled broadly and sat down next to Scotty’s seat.  A little unsure how the sand scoop worked, the dragon tried moving the levers.  With one lever the little sand scoop, extended his bucket and dipped it into the sand.  With the other lever the dragon lifted the bucket up and turned.  Then, as the dragon tipped the bucket, all the sand flowed back down.  The dragon smiled, and so did Scotty scoop.  They played and played. Suddenly the dragon’s ears stood straight up, listening intently.  The little yellow scoop could hear giggling in the distance. Scotty felt excited! The children were coming! He was sure that the kids would love to meet the dragon.  Before he could say anything, the dragon quickly disappeared into the forest.  Oh well, the scoop thought, maybe the dragon would stay and play another time. The children reached the sand box, and a little boy hopped onto Scotty’s seat.  He immediately started to move the levers, scooping and dumping the sand.  He turned the seat so that Scotty’s bucket dipped into the sand on one side and then turned to dump the sand on the other.  Back and forth Scotty swiveled. Then the boy stopped and asked the others, “Does the scoop look different today? I think it might have some magic in it.” Today’s Meditation: Draw gentle shapes in the soothing sand as you prepare for today's story.  Relaxing Rain: a bedtime story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:34

Dragon still doesn't like loud storms, but the kids share some helpful ways to cope! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:39 Narrator: Male Relaxing Rain Excerpt: Dragon giggled as Allie chased and Julia and James scattered. They were busy playing tag at the park as more and more clouds filled the sky. Even though they played under the bright warm sun, the distant sky grew darker and darker. Dragon zigged and zagged to keep from being tagged, when a low rumble echoed in the distance. Dragon stopped, ears up and alert. Noticing the dark sky approach, Dragon quickly zipped into the tunnel slide and curled into a ball. Concerned Allie, James, and Julia rushed over to the slide. “Dragon? Are you OK?” Allie asked. Dragon looked up at the kids, thinking maybe the thunder had passed. Then another rumble rippled across the sky. Dragon’s eyes opened wide and Dragon hugged tighter.  The Train Tunnel: a soothing kid’s story when you need a break | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:12

Today's task for the construction crew is to build a train tunnel, but there are trees in the area. How will they get their job done while taking care of the trees? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Something Nice” and this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “The Train Tunnel” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:24 Narrator: Female The Train Tunnel Excerpt: Then the Contractor walked out to the construction crew.  “OK everyone.” He paused.  “We have an important job today.  We’re responsible for making a tunnel for the new train.  It’s going to go under the forest.  While we work, we need to take care and watch for the forest animals, it’s their home.  Ellie, you will be in charge of digging a trench. Take your time.  We want to be safe.  Danny, I want you to haul away the dirt Ellie is digging.  Then you’ll bring gravel back to the trench. Ellie will help spread the gravel out.  Ronald and Dizzy we’ll call you when we’re ready for you. Ronald, we’ll need your help, packing the gravel in nice and tight for a solid foundation.  And Dizzy, you will pour the concrete when the forms are ready.  Let’s make sure it stays nicely mixed.  You can both wait here until we’re ready. This project may take a few days so we need to be patient.  Any questions?   This is going to be a fantastic tunnel! OK! Let’s go!” With that, the team drove out to their site and got right to work.  Ellie noticed that the trees lined both sides of the area, and knew she would need to be careful of their roots.  Ellie looked at the posts telling her where she should dig and then up at the trees.  It seemed like the posts were a safe distance from the trees. Still, Ellie wanted to be careful. The little excavator knew some of those oaks were over 100 years old, and she wanted to protect them.  Bot Basics: a mindful children’s tale | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 14:38

Roly the Robot is happy that Billy and Emily figure out how to communicate with her. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:51 Narrator: Male Bot Basics Excerpt: Light filled the living room as the curtains opened. The little robot charging on the table opened her eyes. Feeling refreshed and full of energy, Roly slid off the charger. She hoped the kids had time to play today. Roly wanted to learn more. The little robot looked over to the quiet tablet, and then towards the sound of laughter spilling out of the hallway. From the sound of it, Roly figured the happy kids were coming her way. As she listened to Billy and Emily talking, the little robot looked back at the tablet, still sitting peacefully. Roly wished she could understand what the kids were saying without a translator. Billy and Emily rushed over to the table. Billy picked up the tablet and said, “Good morning, Roly!” as he typed. Roly smiled as the tablet translated his greeting and then she replied, through the tablet, “Good morning!” Billy looked at his sister and said, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could talk directly to Roly and Roly could understand us, without this tablet?” Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.  Growing Up: a calming story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:05

Sachi, a little snake, is feeling irritatble today and snaps at his friends. With a little help from Dragon, Sachi learns he is just growing up! Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story, “Colorful Crayons” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Growing Up” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 11:05 Narrator: Male Growing Up Excerpt: A calm breeze circled Sachi Snake, and the little snake sighed. Slowly, Sachi slipped through the flowers and leaves, looking for a place to rest.  The little snake looked a bit faded.  His usual deep green appeared a bit gray.  The patterns on his skin had disappeared.  His bright yellow stripe looked white.  Even the sparkle in his eyes seemed clouded over. As Sachi searched, he heard a cheerful voice. “Hi Sachi!”  It was Freddie Frog hopping alongside of him.  “How are you?” Sachi stopped and said flatly, “Hi Freddie.  Ehh, I’m OK I guess.” “Hi, Freddie! Hi Sachi!”  Tad and Tanner had hopped up. Once he could see everyone’s lips, Tad said. “We’re on our way to the pond. Want to come?”  Tad watched for their responses.  Freddie looked right at Tad and said, “That sounds like fun!  What do you think Sachi?” Sachi turned his head away, and mumbled, “No thanks.” “Sachi, Tad can’t hear you. It helps to look at him when you talk, so he knows what you said.” Tanner reminded the little snake. So Sachi turned towards Tad and said, “The pond is cold and slimy.  I’d rather do something else.”  And with that, the little snake hurried away. Tad, Tanner, and Freddie felt surprised. Their friend usually acted friendly.  They wondered what was wrong with Sachi as they hopped off to the pond.  Sachi wondered what was wrong too.  He felt itchy and uncomfortable.  Colorful Crayons: a bedtime meditation and story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:29

Colorful crayons rest in their container. Soon they begin to slide out onto the table. What masterpieces will the crayons help create today? Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:18 Narrator: Male Colorful Crayons Excerpt: “I wonder what we’ll help create today.” Soon all the crayons awakened, eager to do their part in creating today’s art. As the crayons murmured excitedly, one of the kids picked up the box and turned it sideways, gently sliding the crayons out of their bed and onto the table. “Whee!” Yellow giggled as she tumbled out. Green laughed as he rolled across the table, only stopped by the pad of paper. Blue jumped out of the container shouting, “Let’s go!” while Violet held on to the edge of the box, not wanting to leave her comfy bed. It took a little shake for her to leave the warm container, followed by Brown and Black, who had been waiting for Violet so they could join the fun. Now that all the crayons were out, they all took a deep dragon breath, in and out (deep breath) as they waited to see what they would be creating today. Following the train as it continued on past the beach, the dragon waved at Paula the blue penguin, and Benji the bucket. Then the train began to slow down, more and more until it stopped. The dragon also glided to a stop, hovering above the train, and closely observing. There was a whoosh sound, and people began to pour out of the train.  The dragon looked to see where they were coming from, and noticed the train had doors on each segment.  Once some people were off, more people stepped on.  The curious dragon grew excited as the train began to humm again.  Then slowly it started to move.  As the train rolled along the air grew colder, and the land looked white.  The train tracks began to slope down, until the track sat right on top of the land, no longer elevated. Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 8:13 Narrator: Female Cheerful Chat Excerpt: At that moment the kids hurried back to the table. They seemed to have a plan. Roly listened intently as Emily picked up the tablet smiling. Billy smiled too as he placed his favorite green train down in front of the robot. Roly felt a cozy warmth fill her head as she heard. “This is a toy train.” “Interesting…” she thought absorbing every detail of the item in front of her. Billy moved the train across the table from them. Then the robot felt warmth fill her head again, as she heard the tablet whisper “Move to the train.” The little robot rolled over to the train. Then she decided to see if the tablet would deliver a message from her to Billy and Emily. Roly thought about what she would like to say.  Sprinkler Games: a bedtime story and meditation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:58

It's a hot day as Mike and Ian get ready for some sprinkler games. Anora would like to play too. Will the three friends share a fun afternoon? Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Little Pond” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Sprinkler Games” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:50 Narrator: Male Sprinkler Games Excerpt: The little pool sparkled as the sunlight reflected off the water.  It was a hot day, and Ian’s parents had invited Mike’s family over.  Ian had helped his dad set up the pool and sprinkler, and was ready for some fun in the water with his best friend. Before long the boys were busy splashing, and their parents were busy chatting.  Everyone was having fun.  Then another family walked by, looking very hot.  Mike said, “I think that’s Anora.  She looks like she could use some cool water.  We should invite her to play.” Ian looked at his friend a little unsure.  “But, Mike.  Anora’s a girl.  Besides, we need to ask our parents.” “OK, let’s ask our parents.  It’ll be fun.”  Mike replied. He knew that once Ian got to know Anora, he would like her.  Their parents had heard the conversation and Ian’s mom said, “What a great idea! Go right ahead, and invite her mom and dad too.” Mike and Ian ran over to the sidewalk and said, “Hi Anora! Would you like to play with us in the pool and sprinkler.”  Then they said to her parents, “You’re invited too!” “That sounds like fun! Can I?” Anora asked, expectantly looking at her dad.  Anora’s dad looked at her mom and said, “Sure.  We should probably go get your swimsuit, and then come back.” “Great!” Mike said.  “We’ll see you in a little bit.  Little Pond: a relaxation and story for your nap time routine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:30

Zara the kitten wakes up to find Dylan is gone. Knowing the duck likes to swim in a little pond, Zara searches the house. Where will she find her friend? Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:42 Narrator: Female Little Pond Excerpt: A gentle breeze circled the couch ruffling the little cat’s fur. Zara the kitten stretched and slowly opened her eyes. She purred happily, refreshed from her nap. Then the happy kitten turned to her friend Dylan the duck, who had been resting next to her. Surprisingly, the little duck was gone. Zara meowed, quietly calling Dylan. Then the kitten listened very carefully for quacking. She waited patiently but didn’t hear a peep. Zara sat up tall and meowed again. This time, when she didn’t hear a response, the little kitten leapt up to the back of the couch to search the entire family room. Zara knew this game. They were playing hide and seek! There was no sign of her fuzzy friend in here. Zara bounced from the couch to the chair and onto the floor. She felt sure Dylan must have waddled off to one of his favorite spots. The kitty hurried over to their food dishes thinking the little duck may have wanted a snack. Even before reaching their dishes she could see Dylan wasn’t there. Zara licked her lips at the sight of food and decided she would have a quick bite while she thought about where to look next.
