Got a pretty interesting discussion now, this is going to be a bit technical but I got a new friend called Georg Holzmann from a company called Auphonic.com. Welcome to the call, Georg. Georg:           Hello James. James:          I’m not sure if I pronounced that correctly. Georg:           Yeah, that’s great. James:         Probably your software can fix that up somehow. I’ll tell you just a little bit of a back story. I make a lot of podcasts. I put out something almost every day and also videos and I’m not an audio technician, which would be obvious to you and most of my listeners. A month or so ago, one of my friends sent me an email and he said “Listen, don’t take this the wrong way but I have a lot of trouble listening to your interviews in the car because I use headphones and it’s not balanced. One person’s louder than the other and sometimes the microphone is a bit hot. I thought I was sort of adjusting the levels equally as I said I’m not an engineer and he sent me a link and he said “Use this.” He said it’s funded by the Austrian government and you put in your audio and it will compute and calculate and balance and equalize and it can tell the difference between music and voice and it will turn out something beautiful at the other end. And I thought that sounds a little bit magical, I’ll try it and oh by the way it’s free. So I loaded up my files and sure enough the end result was clean, crisp, easy listening podcasts and since that day it’s now become part of our standard operating procedure that every single audio and every single video that we make gets loaded up and then downloaded again and then put on to our site for our customers. Georg, I’m very interested to know about Auphonic and we’ll spell that for people. It’s A-U-P-H-O-N-I-C.com, how could it possibly do this and how is it free? Georg:       Yeah, good question. We have started to work on Auphonic well actually 2 and a half years ago now, mainly because of the popular podcaster in Germany who always speaks also about the technical side behind of podcasting and he always claim that it is so difficult and you have to figure out all of this audio engineering and also on file formats and convert it correctly and all the meta data and chapter marks for example and so I thought ’Yeah actually it’s quite easy to make a little automation software for this’, and all this started with a small script just to adjust the loudness and it started very simple and then it got more complex and complex. For example, now when you upload your file to us, we will first analyze the audio file very detailed. So for example, we’d look in the file via music parts or via different speakers or via different background scenes and with this knowledge we can just try to automate the process, all the engineer is doing manually. So for example it equals the loudness of different speakers or between music and speech and it’s also very important to treat the music in a different way than for example, speech because music has much more natural dynamic and you can’t just remove it, it would sound stupid. The First Thing That Business Service Providers Ask About SEO One of the questions I get asked from people who intend to provide the SEO service is “How much technical knowledge do they need to have to be able to do that?” Well, when I started selling SEO in local business services, I had a lot of knowledge. I knew how to build a website, I knew how to do the SEO and I did everything myself. The problem is, we only have 180 hours a month so you scale up and then you get to the limit. I estimate most people can make 150, 200, maybe 300,000 dollars by yourself before you start needing to get teams. But you’re going to be absolutely flat-strapped. This is if you have premium customers, they’re coming to you without too much marketing effort and you’re able to do the work competently. Photo credit Being The Conductor Of The Orchestra Now, for most people, the technical knowledge can be a big handicap because it stops you from being the ultimate business owner. You should be focusing on marketing, project management and customer service so that you can build a scalable business. “Scalable” means you can actually lift up the revenue beyond those hundreds of thousands, get into the mid-hundreds or the 7 figure – that million-dollar plus range. That’s certainly possible for people who supply my services and that’s because they’re not doing the work, that’s the essential thing. When you are buying a “done for you” service at a wholesale level and then you put a margin on top, then your job is just to get the customers and to make sure they’re happy. And you can just keep ordering more and more and more because there are services out there, whether you use mine or someone else’s, that are scalable that can actually cope with ten times more volume than you’re doing today. So if you let go of that technical thing, think of it like you don’t have to be the expert violinist in the orchestra. You could be the conductor of the orchestra instead. Pay your violinist a fee but take the ticket sales for the whole event. Get Fresh News From Us So how do you get fresh news if you’re supplying to local businesses? Stand-up desks are older age and it’s great to be standing there but what can you do when you’re at your stand-up desk to get loose and flexible. Take it away Manu. Hi, welcome to Yoga Manu Yoga Minute (from  LivingOm.com.au  ), this is Manu here. Today I’m going to show you three standing yoga poses for your stand-up desk. We Begin With The Eagle Pose First one is the Eagle Pose. You can do that by just crossing one leg over at a time and bending your knees a little bit. Yup, that activates the pelvic flow and strengthens the leg. Keep Your Hips Square And Know Your Limits The second one is the Dancer’s Pose, where you hold your ankle from the side, slowly keeping the hips square. And then slowly stretch your leg as farther back as you can. Remember to know your limits and keep it simple. So you’re stretching your hip flexors, your quads and then returning back slowly. Photo credit Try The Three Tree Pose Variations Or You Could Give The Expert Pose A Shot The third pose is the Tree Pose. In the Tree Pose, you gently place one foot as high as you can – option one, option two – below the knee or option three – even on the floor. So that’s the Tree Pose. If you’re an experienced yogi, feel free to grab your toe and then slowly stretch it out and back in. So from the side view, you’re holding your toe and slowly stretching out, make sure you’re not kicking anything next to you, and back again. So these are the three postures. New YouTube Design Template Available YouTube are changing their design template and you can also create a trailer that shows for first time visitors encouraging them up to join up to your subscriptions. So go along to YouTube creators blog and check out, I’ll put a link near this video.  You can start designing your template. Social SEO Update Regarding social SEO it’s still going to be a big thing what you need to do is make sure that you have your Google+ account and connect up your auto profile so that you can claim ownership.  There is a suggestion that if you have a Google+ endorsement on any of your content and you’ve got your name, it should get higher click thru and you want to start dominating for your brand so own that space with the Google+ account. Assign your author rel relationship to your content.  Keep putting that good content and socialize it with the big ones – with the FaceBooks, the LinkedIns, the Twitters and if you’re in a visual market, Pinterest. Photo credit In terms of increasing your brand you can still use press releases, images, pay some attention to your logo designs.  I’m always updating and tuning SuperFastBusiness.com to make sure that that design is very very well known and a large part of the traffic coming to that site is actually looking for the phrase, “SuperFastBusiness” and that is because the branding is driving those visits.  I make sure that I replicate that across my YouTube channel. I claim ownership for my articles, for my own name, I link it to my Google+ and then I FaceBook and tweet and LinkedIn all of my posts.  This technique is called “Own The Racecourse” and you’ll be able to get that entire course for FREE at SuperFastBusiness.com.  If you receive my email news, you’ll be sent an email notification when it’s ready at SuperFastBusiness.com Glitch in Web Master tools being fixed Now in Web Master tools, if you’ve noticed the change, there was a little glitch where it looks like that they’ve stopped using the homepage links so they’re looking at fixing that up now according to the reports that I’ve read. Is PR important? Also on the topic of PR, it’s still an important metric for SEO’s but also for public according to a video that Matt Cutts released.  We still use PR and I think it is actually important.  It’s a way for us to have a look at the authority of the site.  A really high PR is still a good indicator that a site is worthwhile.  That’s why we make sure we get high PR links for our SEO customers on sites that are category-themed and relevant to the customer’s site. A gentleman called Kai suggested that I shave and that I wear a decent shirt and not a $5 shirt. Well okay, this my friend is a beautiful Merino blend shirt and it certainly is not a $5 shirt. This lovely jacket I got from Italy and it is very comfortable. In fact, since I used to wear a suit from the age of 9 through the age of 36, I kind of enjoy not wearing a suit and tie anymore and that’s the whole point of working from home. Look I get it, I make sure I brush my teeth and I make sure the picture quality is good and the sound is okay. But I’m still just me, I want to communicate me. This is what I wear every day and don’t tell anyone but I don’t wear shoes very often either. A few questions So what I want to know today is, am I making a huge mistake? Should I be wearing a shirt? Should I be shaving? Do I need to step it up like these full scale production, make-up wardrobe, stylist, editing suite, movie set, and see if I can get myself on Oprah? Or should I go down the GaryV thing, should I be down playing it a bit – whack a few videos out while I’m in business class on my laptop? I don’t know – that or that? Or do you just want to take it as I am? I’ll let you decide but just to help you I’m going to show you a couple of little things. To go with A or B? The secret to staying power is to own the racecourse. Own the platform that you build your online business on. Own the websites that you publish on. This puts you in control and not at the whim of other people and their property. This is a principle that has proven powerful in one person's successful online blog and his multi-million dollar business. And the step by step process will be shared freely with you, starting with this introductory module. When you map it out it fills up a 3½ meter long whiteboard. It takes one day to take somebody through it step by step showing each part of the process. So I can’t actually show you each step of the process in minute detail. What I will be doing is referring you to the appropriate places you can go and get further instructions such as Content Assault, Traffic Grab and SuperFastConversions. All of these courses are available inside my internet business coaching community called FastWebFormula.com - discover more. Overview What I do want to do is I want to give you the overview. This is a strategic overview. I’m going to give you slides with entire checklists on it but I’m going to talk you through every bullet point. What you get  What you will get at the end of this presentation are the actual checklists. So I’ve already had the checklists typed up from my whiteboards. They are literally ticker box checklists. They’re on the last 3 slides. I will give you a PDF of those so that you can print them off. So don’t worry too much about taking extraneous notes. The most important thing is that you understand the concept that I’m talking about and it should give you clarity in direction on what you want to implement for your business. Why OTR? We’re going to talk about what it is, why I did it, how you’d go about doing it. The name of the course, “Own the Racecourse” really comes from something one of my mentors drummed into me. He said it was far more important to own the game and have everyone else competing on your racecourse because you always win. It doesn’t matter if the horse goes lame or if one of the players isn’t happy. Someone will win, someone will lose. Avoid these mistakes It’s about ownership and so many entrepreneurs make terrible mistakes. They build out their whole business on say YouTube and just have videos and links straight to products and then YouTube closes their account and the next day they wake up and it’s gone. Or they build their whole business on Facebook. They have a Facebook group for example and their whole business is on one platform. Or Google, and then if they get their site slapped, they’re out of the game. But if we’re smart, we’ll build on an asset we own and we’re going to put all of these things to work for us plus more that will come. I’m going to start in reverse We’ll talk about the results that Own the Racecourse system will get you when you put it to play. You will become a stronger brand authority. You will be known in your industry and that means people will come to you instead of you having to go to them. Other people will mention you on their podcasts, on their blogs, in forums, at live events, from stage. You will be the reference. This is really good. It allows you to access much bigger market because you’re going to have a bigger system working for you than just a small player. You will also have multiple sources of relevant traffic. You won’t be wondering about just one or two,
