I’m going to be to be talking about OwnTheRacecourse – Reloaded, plus I’ll give you a video tip, and we’ll talk about wins. OwnTheRacecourse – Reloaded So last week in Fast Web Formula, I recorded a webinar called OTR re-loaded  and I gave heat maps and analytics from my most recent results from SuperFastBusiness.com. Be sure to check out the replay inside SuperFastBusiness. It will really help you fast track your conversions and get you that marketing exposure that you need for your business to grow. It will build your authority and will reduce your marketing expense. Video tip Now when it comes to videos, at first when you make them you don’t feel that comfortable. My suggestion is playback the video to yourself over and over again until you’re happy with it. There’s no point practicing in front of a mirror because you can’t actually get the feedback later, so record yourself on a camera and play it back. That’s the best way to improve and of course doing it over and over again will get you the ability to be able to refine what it is that you’re doing that you need to fix.Photo credit What’s your big win lately? One of the most inspirational threads this week inside Fast Web Formula is about Wins. What’s your big win lately? One of our members reduced from 10 websites to 1 and I know the power of that simplicity. One of my wins was being able to set-up a new studio with fast internet which I’m very-very excited about. What were your big wins in the last week or two? Perhaps you could comment right near this video. I hope you’ve enjoyed this news update. I’m James Schramko, see you soon.

I encourage you to think about all of the times you've helped coach your customers or prospects. All the telephone calls you've done, all the support questions you've answered. What do you keep saying over and over again that you can automate with a video? Because once you've got that video, you could make it once, and then keep sending people back to it every time they ask the same question.Photo credit Action step for this week The best piece of content that you could make this week is one that answers a question that you get asked all the time, and preferably one that leads to a sale as well. Remember to put a clear call to action into your video, and then all you have to do when someone asks you a question that relates to this topic is send them to the video. And tell your support team to send people to the video as well. You really can automate and leverage yourself when you're making good content. So get out there and make an actionable piece of content this week that addresses a common concern that you hear over and over again. And I'm doing that right now because the big one that I hear is "What can my video be about?" And I'll be sure to send people to this video if they ask me that. Please leave your comments below:

How To Sell Softly | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:02

In this episode, I’m going to cover how you can pitch at a non-pitch event. Alright, sometimes as experts or authors, we get asked to speak at an event and the promoter doesn’t want us to pitch our services. It’s not a “sales pitch” event and that’s okay, but you should always be selling something even if it is the listener of the audience coming and contacting you and finding out more about your stuff so that it could build a relationship that later leads to a sale. So here is what you should do when you structure your presentation: When Should You Establish Yourself As An Expert? Firstly, you will need to cover who you are and why people should talk to you and why you are the trusted authority in the industry. And that can be done not at the beginning of the presentation but a little bit further down the track. When you have a captive audience, it’s okay to save that up to a little bit later because people don’t really care about that. What they really need to know upfront is, with you getting their attention, talk about WHY they need to know what it is that you’re going to talk about. And then, cover WHAT you are talking about, so the WHY and then the WHAT.  Photo credit Demonstrate Tangible Results Related To Your Service Now when it comes to the HOW, if it’s a non-pitch event, certainly give away some valuable tips but only one or two and then the rest of them, you could insert case studies from your successful customers or from examples out there in society that illustrate what results you get for people or what results your type of service gets for other people even if it’s not your service. I’ll give you an example: If your service helps people with sign writing, then you could explain that a company like Coca Cola will use sign writing extensively as part of their marketing campaign. That clearly demonstrates how people are using your service or a service like yours. State The Perfect Call To Action And then there’s the call to action that’s covering the WHAT IFs. Now, people will still have questions. The best call to action is “Come and find me while you’re at this conference and I’d like to talk to you about your business”. You’ve just made it relevant to them and the call to action is to come and talk to you. That is a clear call to action that can lead to a relationship. That way, when people do come to you, that is the perfect marketing, it’s called “Pull marketing” where customers are coming to you asking you to help them with their business. What a match made in heaven! So I hope this tip has helped you pitch at a non-pitch event, I’m James Schramko and be sure to leave your comments right near this video.

Join the waiting list now James:             Okay, so Mike, you have been prolific with product creation and you also do webinars, so I think it would be a great discussion if we just talk about some of the elements involved for the internet marketer who wants to start creating their own products because there’s so many different things you can do online: we know about selling services to local business, we know about affiliate marketing, but I know when I look back at my own affiliate marketing success, a lot of it had to do with creating my own bonuses and products, and it’s such a powerful advantage and that’s what we’re going to talk about today. So, welcome to the discussion. Mike:               Thanks, it’s always good to be here man. Appreciate it. James:             Give our listeners a little background as to how you got to the stage right now and what sort of things you’ve done. Give us a bit of context as to what we’re qualified to talk about here. Mike:               Sure, well here’s the thing James, when I first got started with internet marketing, I started doing web design and SEO for smaller businesses and in the process was introduced to internet marketing. And in all honesty, I really struggled when I first got started with the whole information overload and I learned pretty quickly. You know you have to have your own product if you want to be able to build a list, if you want to have affiliates, all those things that were you know where the money is, so to speak. And so, what I did was I would make about 90 percent of a product and then I’d go “Oh! You know what, I need a product about this too and a product about that” and I really had a hard time finishing my products and I had about 25 products and 2 of them were done. And the ones that were done, people were buying and they were happy and the rest of them were not and you can guess how much money I made out of those ones that weren’t finished right? James:             You know I have so been in that situation I just was actually looking at some of my old files today, as it turns out, and I found this sheet from 2007 for my internet marketing blog and it had the opt-in value series of education and stuff. And I was really good at mapping out ideas, I had all this opportunity in inverted commerce and I went on so many partial product creations. It was very frustrating but you’re right, you make zero out of the product that you never get to market. So what do you think the big lesson there is for people listening to this? Mike:               Well, you know I got to give credit to my buddy Jason Flatt because I was listening to one of his webinars and Jason struggled with one of the same things and the way he put it was really kind of elementary. He’d say “You know, I’d sit down. I’d start on a product and then I take a break and it wouldn’t get done. So the next day or next week, I’d sit down and start on a product and take a break and then it wouldn’t get done so after this happened a few times, what do you think I figured out?” and everybody typed in “Don’t take a break” and so I adopted that philosophy and sometimes there’s bigger projects where you can’t necessarily do it all in one sitting but if it’s a video series,

This podcast episode is all about ecommerce, and the reason I wanted to cover this topic is because I think that it is a hot topic. The big retailers are struggling. A lot of them are going broke in real, actual stores, which opens up the question: why are they going broke? It's because people are buying online. Let's face it, the Internet is here to stay, it's not just a fad, and who's making the money? It's people who set up online stores and sell things online. And so what I thought would be good is go and talk to someone who actually does this for a living and does it pretty well, and it just so happens that one of my very best friends and co-host on our other podcast, ThinkActGet.com, Ezra Firestone, is an ecommerce specialist. Good day, mate, how are you? Ezra:          I'm so good, thanks for having me. And it's so true, you know, 10 percent of retail sales are done online. Total retails sales. 10 percent. And that's growing each year. 15 percent, year over year, in US and Canada, as we are crossing the chasm and as the technology adaption curve is becoming lower. They say the Internet is in its infancy. Well I like to say, and I actually heard this on Terry Lynn's podcast, ecommerce is a baby. Like we're so young in ecommerce, and now really is the time to be getting into ecommerce. It's not a played-out market at all. It's actually a really, really good time to be thinking about retailing physical products online. James:       Right. So, just to give us some context, tell us just a bit about the Ezra Firestone ecommerce empire. What makes you qualified to even talk about this on a show like SuperFastBusiness.com? Ezra:            Well, I've been very successful with it, and I've had my attention on it for a very long time. And there's different business models, with ecommerce. There's drop shipping, there's wholesaling, there's manufacturing, and my preferred business model is the drop ship business model, and I had a store that I just sold, that was the number one retailer of a specific line of Halloween products in America, and we've done really well, and I've done a lot, a lot, a lot of testing to platform testing. I've had stores on ShopSite, on XCart, on Yahoo, and Magento, and BigCommerce - I'm actually just building on BigCommerce now - but I've tested platforms, I've tested different traffic sources, I've tested layouts, I've just really had a lot of attention on this for the past couple of years, and I've done really, really well. And I'm happy to share what's worked for me with your group of people. James:         Alright, well we are going to ask you what's worked. I think that's the whole point. We're going to get to the good bits. I'm going to say, listen, Ezra, if you only had twenty minutes or so to quickly educate someone about ecommerce, let's just make sure we've covered the "What is ecommerce?" That is a store that is online. Is that how you would describe it? Ezra:        Yeah. I'd describe it as the - you know, everything is ecommerce, right?

Find Out HerePrepare for the changes by adding great content to your site  James Schramko here with a quick SEO News update. Are You Ready For The New Panda And Penguin Update? With Google talking about the new Panda coming and a big penguin update this year, one thing is certain when it comes to backlinks, you got to stop buying these cheap backlinks or using automated tools. That is not going to get you the results. If you want to do SEO yourself, the very best thing you can do is put well-considered, helpful content on your website and then have that shared and then go and put feature content on other people’s websites in your market or your category. Perhaps forums, industry blogs, make worthwhile comments on other people’s blogs, submit guest content. That’s how you get known. That’s real SEO so stop the tricks.Photo credit Work Only With The Professional Team When the Panda update comes, of course we will be analyzing all our sites and looking at our portfolio to see what the changes are and then our professional team will be adjusting our traffic processes. Also when the penguin comes, the main thing to watch for there is over-manipulation of back links so there’s apparently a big redesign on the way, it was reported on the search engine land, Matt Cutts said this at a recent conference, so let’s see what changes but the main thing is there’s no shortcuts.  Do the work, get the results and deal with a professional team. I’m James Schramko, speak to you soon. Are you ready for the changes? Tell us what you think and leave your comments here.

 Leverage Winners | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:30

What to do when you get really good results? When things are going well in your business, find out why.//In this news update:00:13 - Find out what caused the good result 00:22 - Lack of awareness may lead to this problem 00:35 - Track your conversions and leverage up on good results SuperFastBusiness wants youJoin the SilverCircle Mastermind waiting list and grow your business  James Schramko here with a business development tip. One thing you want to know above all else when something goes well is really important. I’m going to tell you what that is now. What Caused That Good Result? You want to know what caused it. And to know what caused it, you need to be tracking and testing and measuring in your business. See, if you have a freak great result, which can happen in business, if you don’t know what caused it, that can be a problem. Because now, you can’t leverage it or maximize it or do more of what’s working. Start Tracking Your Conversions And Leverage Your Good ResultsPhoto credit So for that reason, for a website, you should be putting analytics. For any kind of marketing or advertising, put a way of testing the traffic source so that you know what’s causing your conversions. If you have good performance from your team, have measurements, have reports, have a score sheet so that you know where the result is coming from and then leverage up on your good results. Well, this was a short tip today but I hope you found it useful. I’m James Schramko and I’ll catch up with you soon. If you found this quick tip useful, share your thoughts and leave your comments below.

Which color code applies to your site? So we now have a color code system for all of our jobs.  From doing all of our website checks, what we found is websites generally fall into one of three categories.  We have the red, yellow and green.  So now we actually classify this when we do a report.  We can also code each of our accounts with that color code so if you have a job at the moment, you can ask which color code will apply to you. I’ll give you a brief description of it now. There are red sites which have had some previous bad link history.  This is the most common type of site we get when someone’s new to us but has been doing work somewhere else.  Unfortunately, they’ve had some shoddy links from cheap forum post or profiles or they’ve had directory submissions or they’ve had some really low quality company generating spam links for them.  Sometimes, these domains are going to need substantial work, they may need some links disavowed.  You may even need to change domains at some point with very careful redirects.   If you have a red site, then we will let you know that and we will also make sure to send you to the right place where you get some help with that. If you have a yellow site, that’s generally a new site.  Now, it’s good that we know that it’s got a very low link profile like almost no links to it because with the penguin filter, it’s very sensitive to anchor text.  Too many good links can actually damage your site so what you need is a very broad mix of link IP’s and also the anchor text should be mixed up. Make sure that it’s never more than a few percent saturated for any of the phrases. If you have a yellow site, it just means that we have on the kid gloves and we’re being very careful with it. If you have a green site, it means you have a good history, you’ve got lots of backlinks, you’ve got a really good mix of anchor text and your site is going to get the very best results from us in the shortest possible time because we can instantly move into really good quality, highly relevant category-themed links.  So that’s our new color coding system. New and simplified structural changes for our customers In other news, we sat down with the team last week and have made some big structural changes to make your life easier.  We used to have our own separate reputation management product.  But we’ve now brought that in under SuperFastBusiness Traffic Services. It’s called Reputation Repair and there’s an analysis there.  If you have a reputation issue or you need help with repairing a bad reputation, fill out the reputation analysis on SuperFastBusiness Traffic Services. We also had another product out there which was designed to help you implement what I call Own The Racecourse which is what we do for our SuperfastBusiness site.  We’re actually putting out rich media all the time. Video, audio, bullet points and images.  That product is now called the Short Video Pack and it’s on SuperFastBusiness Traffic Services as well.

 5 Website Conversion Tips | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:12

Get higher conversions with these amazing tips!A few simple measures can significantly boost your website's conversion rate.// News Video Highlights:00:34 – Compress your images with Smush IT 01:13 – Track your opt-ins by tagging the opt-in source 01:56 – Reduce stuff on your site to the essential items 02:33 – Make the customer the HERO of your website 02:59 – Make things obvious for your customer 03:42 – Check ATLWeb.com for your site building and conversion needs SilverCircle Mastermind is still open, be sure to joinBe a member of SuperFastBusinessCheck out our other web design servicesLooking to buy established mature domains? James Schramko here and I’m going to be sharing five website conversion tips with you today. So with our web development firm, ATLWeb.com, we build a lot of websites and I’m really interested in website conversions. You’ve probably seen a lot of those things in play on SuperFastBusiness.com where I’ve been continually refining through the use of conversion testing and also getting advice from conversion experts. So here’s five things you could do to help your website today: Tip Number 1: Do the “Smush” Number one, you can “Smush” your images. That’s S-M-U-S-H and you can go to Smush.it and this is a Yahoo! developer service. And what it will do, it will compress your images on your website in a loss-less way so it will still look exactly the same but it will move unnecessary bites. And when your images are smaller, your sites will load faster, which is giving your user a better experience. In fact, if your site loads quickly, then you’ve got a better chance of making that conversion than if they click away because they can’t wait.Photo credit Tip Number 2: Track Your Opt-in Sources Number two is to track the source for each of your opt-ins. What I do on my site I have various opt-in choices. People can opt-in on the header bar, they can opt-in to the video after the video plays with LeadPlayer, they can opt-in with a script that pops up when they scroll certain depth in the site and they can opt-in by clicking on a banner on the sidebar and go into my dedicated LeadPages which I’m always split testing. But the best thing is, I actually tag that opt-in to the opt-in source so I know which opt-in is generating me the most leads. Now if one of them doesn’t perform, I kill it. If one of them performs really well, I want to understand “why” – maybe it’s the words I’ve used, maybe I can roll that across the others and test that. Tip Number 3: Trim Down My tip number three is to remove stuff from your website. Most of us have too many things, it’s a “bargain bizarre”. When you eliminate objects on your site and reduce it down to the bare essentials, then you’re actually helping people take action. You don’t have this paradox of choice of too many things. So what I’ve done is pair my site down to the minimum essential items using heat maps to see what people are interested in. And of course, I’m optimizing for the conversion that pays, that could be an opt-in, it could be a sale. Tip Number 4: Your Customers Are The Hero Of Your Site The fourth thing is to make the website about the customer not about you.
