Chris Stafford wraps up the final day of competition from the FEI World Equestrian Games with the newly crowned show jumping World Champion Germany's Simone Blum. It was a thrilling competition to watch a woman on top of the podium again—the first time since 1986.  Her mare DSP Alice did not have one rail down this week and was foot perfect as they were last to go and Simone's nerves held up to take the title. She tells Chris how it played out for her and what's next for this super mare that will now be aimed at the 2020 Olympic Games. On day 11 of the FEI World Equestrian Games, Chris Stafford talks to double gold medalist Britain’s Sophie Wells MBE who has now won five WEG medals in her career, which she underlined with her freestyle performance today riding the 11 year old Dutch warmblood gelding C Fatal Attraction. We hear how the partnership prepared for this games and what it means to her now that Team GB has qualified to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. With the driving marathon taking place today it was a great day’s sport and very hot conditions again as the jumpers had a day off. Irish journalist Louise Parkes joins Chris to discuss the jumping competition so far and share her thoughts on the final individual competition tomorrow with Germany’s Simone Blum leading the top 25 riders to battle it out for the medals with just one fence dividing the top group. Team USA took the gold medal today in the show jumping competition at the FEI World Equestrian Games and it came down to a jump off between Sweden and the USA to decide the gold and silver. It was a spectacular competition and Chris spoke to Adrienne Sternlicht who was making her championship debut to get her reaction to winning her first gold medal.  Sweden’s Malin Baryard achieved another career highlight to win a team silver medal and qe hear how excited she is about the mare she’s believes is possibly the best she’s ever had. Chris also talked to former Team USA show jumper and coach Katie Prudent and eventer Karen O’Connor to get their reaction to the US taking the gold on home soil. On Day 9 of competition at the FEI World Equestrian Games, Chris talks to Misdee Wrigley Miller, the first woman to compete in the carriage driving at a world championships. This is Misdee’s second World Equestrian Games; she made her debut on the team in Normandy in 2014 where the team finished in 4th place. Misdee has been preparing for these games in Europe and in Kentucky which she believes will help her team of horses cope with the heat and humidity here in Tryon. She tells Chris what she is expecting of her horses and shares her thoughts on the facility and marathon course. Great Britain’s Holly Smith is making her championship debut and today she had two rails down in the first round of the team competition. The show jumping competition of the World Equestrian Games got underway in Tryon, NC and Chris Stafford talked to three team rookies who are making their championship debut and who were previous guests on The Horse Show.  Canada's Erynn Ballard rode Darkos Promise into 33rd place of the 124 starters today in the speed competition which was one round against the clock.  Adrienne Sternlicht on Team USA had one rail down to finish in 45th place and Amanda Derbyshire on Team GB also had a rail down after missing her stride over the water jump to end the day on 8 faults in 46th place. Great Britain dominated the eventing competition here at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC winning both team and individual gold medals. Canadian eventer Jessica Payne joins Chris Stafford to round up the competition and take a look at the standout performances of these games. It was an important qualifier for the Tokyo Olympic Games and it leaves Team USA and Canada after their result here still to qualify at the 2019 Pan American Games.  Britain's Ros Canter clinched the gold when overnight leader Germany's Ingrid Klimke had the last fence down in the stadium today. On today’s episode of The Horse Show, Chris Stafford reports from the FEI World Equestrian Games after the cross country phase of eventing. It was a fabulous day’s competition which saw there women taking the medal placings. Chris spoke to Germany’s Ingrid Klimke who is currently in the gold medal position about her foot perfect round on SAP Hale Bob OLD finishing exactly on the time ahead of Britain’s Ros Canter and Allstar B making her championship debut with a wonderful round. Ros tells us what this means to her to be in gold medal position going into the show jumping phase and what a bonus it would be for her to win an individual medal. On the show today Chris Stafford chats to former USA Team rider Heather Blitz who reviews the Grand Prix Special and you can hear how impressed she was with the quality of the leading riders.  Women ruled today with all three podium places going to the girls in a nail biting finish with the top 3 riders.  Chris also spoke to the bronze medalist Britain's Charlotte Dujardin who was surprised herself to be on the podium with her young mare Mount St John Freestyle. Double Olympian Bettina Hoy who is coach of the Dutch eventing team, and Debbie Adams, rider, trainer and a volunteer cross country judge here at the World Equestrian Games tomorrow. On day 2 of the World Equestrian Games, the team dressage medals were decided and it came down to the anchor rider for Team USA to not only squeeze Sweden off the podium and to the home crowd’s delight they went one better to clinch the silver medal behind Germany. Chris Stafford spoke to former Team USA rider Heather Blitz about the how the competition unfolded and also to Germany’s Isabell Werth who performed an emotional test with Bella Rose to score 84.829% and finish on top of the individual leaderboard setting them up for the Grand Prix Special tomorrow.
