Remember the claims for almost all the sports products being presented to us runners? The shoes offer injury prevention, improved stride and speed, drinks promise energy replenishment and sped-up recovery, compression garment makers vow enhanced performance and recovery, and so on. A group of British scientists dug into the archives to find the scientific research which would support those claims. In some cases they found no proof at all, in other cases the evidence was too little, or too flawed, or both. I talk about what they found, and what they didn't find. As a runner and a journalist, I am pretty alarmed by the misinformation or the hype we are presented with, regarding some running topics. I address that concern in the second segment.
