Anaheim Goes Kesler Crazy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1995

This past week the Anaheim Ducks made contracts with many players. Anaheim re-signed Chris Wagner and Michael Sgarbossa to one year deals each. Julius Nattinen was signed to a three year entry level contract. The Ducks also picked up free agent Shane O'Brien who was with the Ducks in the 2006-07 season. The biggest news was the 6 year $41.25 million extension given to Ryan Kesler. How will this signing affect the Ducks team for years to come? Eddy and I take a look at the Kesler deal and how it will affect the Ducks now and in the future. We also take a look at the other signings and how the Ducks line-up could look next year. We also discuss some other Ducks team and NHL news.

Anaheim Fight Club? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1717

Since the off season the Anaheim Ducks have several players to their roster. Anaheim traded for Carl Hagelin from the New York Rangers and then traded for Kevin Bieksa from the Vancouver Canucks. The Ducks then added free agent Shawn Horcoff with a one year deal to help fill Nate Thompson's spot while he is out for the first couple of months of the season. Most recently the Ducks signed free agents Brian McGrattan and Chris Stewart. If you look at the Ducks roster now, then you will notice it is filled with tough guys. Last season Tim Jackman and Chris Stewart both had 11th fights which was 7th in the league. Clayton Stoner was right behind them with 10 fights last year. Patrick Maroon engaged in 9 fights last season. Kevin Bieksa was in just 4 fights last year, but he usually engages in about 6-7 a year. The total number of fights between these five players was 45 last year, which is the same number the ENTIRE Ducks team had last season. The Ducks squad was 6th highest in the league for number of fights. Also McGrattan was added to the team, but he mainly played in the AHL last season and had just one fight. In his career he has had 258 fights (Includes NHL, AHL, & OHL). He averages 14 fights per season. So does this mean we have an Anaheim Fight Club? Eddy and I tackle this issue and discuss the recent signings of Stewart and McGrattan. We also answer several fans questions. Lastly we discuss some news around the NHL as well.

 Missing Piece? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2864

In past few weeks surrounding July 1st, the Anaheim Ducks lost a few players and gained some as well. The Ducks saw Francois Beauchemin go to the Colorado Avalanche and Matt Beleskey went to the Boston Bruins. The Ducks also traded away Emerson Etem, Kyle Palmieri, and James Wisniewski. Bob Murray acquired a few replacements for the players lost. The Ducks traded a 2016 second round pick for Kevin Bieksa from the Vancouver Canucks. This move was made to fix the open spot that Beauchemin previously held. The Ducks also traded for Carl Hagelin from the New York Rangers. He is a speedy left winger that can replace Beleskey's role. Most recently the Ducks signed Shawn Horcoff to a one year deal. So did Murray do enough to replace the players lost? Eddy and I explore this question as we review the past moves by the Ducks in the recent weeks. We preview what the starting line-up may look like come October. We discuss the Ducks prospect camp that just happened this past weekend. We discuss the arrival of Paul Maclean and his impact on the team. Lastly we also answer several fan questions that cover all the topics discussed above, the NHL, and more.

 Murray Magic | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2945

The Anaheim Ducks finished the 2014-15 season just one game away from getting to the Stanley Cup Final. So one might expect the Ducks to not do much this off season right? Wrong. On day one of the NHL draft the Ducks traded Kyle Palmieri to the New Jersey Devils for a 41st pick and a draft pick for the 2016 draft. The trade was made on Friday June 26th, but declared official on the 27th because Palmieri was out of the country and not able to be reached immediately. Then early on the morning of day two of the draft the Ducks made two more trades. They sent Emerson Etem and their newly acquired second round pick (41st overall) to the New York Rangers for winger Carl Hagelin, a second round pick (59th overall), and a sixth round pick (179th overall). In their final deal of the day, the Ducks traded James Wisniewski to the Carolina Hurricanes for goaltender Anton Khudobin. On day one of the draft the Ducks selected Swedish defenseman Jacob Larsson. On day two they had six draft picks and selected center Julius Nattinen with the 59th overall pick, center Brent Gates with the 80th overall pick, winger Deven Sideroff with the 84th overall pick, center/winger Troy Terry with the 148th overall pick, defenseman Steven Ruggiero with the 178th overall pick, and goaltender Garrett Metcalf with the 179th overall pick. Lastly, we analyze the moves around the league and how the other team's may stack up next season.

After sweeping the Winnipeg Jets and beating the Calgary Flames in five games, the Ducks faced the Blackhawks in the Western Conference Final. The Ducks and Blackhawks battled to seven games. The Ducks had a 3-2 advantage and had two opportunities to close out the series. Unfortunately, history repeated itself for the third year as the Ducks lost games six and seven just like the previous two years against Los Angeles and Detroit. The Ducks lost their third game seven in the last three years. Eddy and I briefly look at the last couple games of the series. We then turn our attention to the future with free agents like Matt Beleskey and Francois Beauchemin. We discuss the Ducks strategy to signing players in the off season and the upcoming draft.

The Ducks Remain Focused | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3131

The Anaheim Ducks have a 2-1 lead in their series against the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite what some experts think, the Ducks are not a team to be taken lightly. Eddy and I review the first three games of this series. The Ducks were able to earn a 4-1 victory in the first game and a nail biter 2-1 win in Game 2. The Ducks could even be up 3-0 in this series, but lost Game 2 in a marathon Triple OT game. We discuss the Ducks success in this series as a team and highlight individual player performances as well. We address the team's ability to focus on playing hockey despite being underestimated by many. Even despite the comments of Mike Milbury the Ducks went to Chicago and won Game 3 in another hostile environment. No matter what the situation is the Ducks have fought through and handled everything well so far.

Ducks Success Earns Trip To WCF | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4140

For the first time since the 2006-07 post season the Anaheim Ducks are going to the Western Conference Final! The Ducks defeated the Flames in the 5th game of the series in dramatic fashion. Entering the third period behind by one goal, Matt Beleskey scored to tie the game. Beleskey scored his fifth goal in five games against the Flames. He broke Teemu Selanne's record of scoring at least one goal in four consecutive games in a playoff series. Then the faithful at Honda Center had a big scare as Corey Perry would go down after a hard check. He would have to crawl on the ice to get back to the bench. Moments later he appeared on the ice and eventually scored the game winner to eliminate the Flames. The moment was compared to by many as the Paul Kariya moment when he was knocked out by Scott Stevens in the 2002-03 Stanley Cup Final. Kariya came back and scored a goal in Game 6. Eddy and I look at the Ducks current playoff run and discuss why the Ducks have had success against the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames. We also look forward to the series against the Chicago Blackhawks. We break down both teams and give you our analysis on how this series will go.

We also discuss the controversial no goal call and the lime toss at Patrick Maroon's back. Lastly, we look at the other series and give our thoughts on who may prevail in those two series.
