 "You Can't Win Here!" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3322

The Anaheim Ducks had an intense week of hockey against Canadien opponents. They went on the road winning two games and also losing two games. During the road trip the Ducks temporarily lost control of their own destiny for the Pacific Division title, but then they retained it courtesy of the Calgary Flames. The Ducks beat the Flames on the road and then again at home for the 25th time in a row during the regular season. The Ducks win streak at home against the Flames is longest active streak currently in the NHL. The biggest concern for the Ducks right now is the health of their defensive core. Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen were both injured in the Ducks overtime loss to Edmonton. Cam Fowler was injured in the recent physical game against Calgary. The Ducks are also without Korbinian Holzer, who had to return home to Germany for personal reasons. On this show, we talk about the Pacific Division playoff picture, player injuries, and the Olympics.

Ducks Surge Ahead of Canadian Road Trip | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2530

The Anaheim Ducks have won four games in a row and now find themselves in first place in the Pacific Division. The San Jose Sharks have lost six in a row making the Pacific Division a toss up between them, Anaheim, Calgary, and Edmonton. The Ducks do control their own destiny as they hold a two point advantage over San Jose and Edmonton. One reason for the Ducks success has been the captain Ryan Getzlaf, who was named the 3rd star of the week by the NHL. He had seven assists in his last three games. Another reason for the Ducks winning ways has been Jonathan Bernier who has gone 8-0-1 since his regulation loss back on March 5th to Vancouver. He had a 1.64GAA and .944 SV% during that time span. On this show, we discuss the Ducks playoff chances, roster moves, player updates, and more!

Anaheim: Is There A Goalie Controversy? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2802

This past week the Anaheim Ducks went 3-0-1 in their last four games. They now only sit four points behind the San Jose Sharks with 10 games remaining in the season. The Ducks have leaned on Jonathan Bernier recently with John Gibson dealing with a lower body injury. Gibson came back and played in the previous week against St. Louis, but appears to have reaggravated his injury. The question for Randy Carlyle is if Gibson is healthy before the season ends, then will he go with him in net or continue with Bernier who has gone 5-0-1 in his last six starts. On this show, we talk about the Ducks goalie situation and the importance of the final weeks of the season.

Ducks Push Towards The Playoffs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2487

The Anaheim Ducks didn't make any major moves when the NHL trade deadline came. They have gone 3-2-0 since then and are battling it out with Calgary and Edmonton for second and third place in the Pacific Division. On this show we talk about the Ducks chances of finishing the season strong and how far will they go in the playoffs. The Ducks just got back John Gibson from injury and Antoine Vermette from suspension. The question is will a healthy Ducks team with just the addition of Patrick Eaves be enough for the Ducks to make a deep run this postseason?

Anaheim: Go Big or Go Home | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3391

The Anaheim Ducks acquired Patrick Eaves from the Dallas Stars for a 2017 2nd round draft pick last week. The move was to help improve the Ducks offense and power play, but many feel it isn't enough if Anaheim wants to go deep in the playoffs this postseason. The Ducks enter their bye week two points behind Edmonton for second place in the Pacific Division. The question for the Ducks is will they go big this trade deadline or not? Bob Murray doesn't usually go big at the trade deadline and this year he said he didn't want to trade any defenseman for a rental player. On this show, we discuss possible trade partners and options for the Ducks. We also discuss several trades that have already happened in the past couple of days and how some may affect the Ducks.

 Trade Deadline: Murray's In The Driver's Seat | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3087

The Anaheim Ducks General Manager Bob Murray isn't interested in trading for rental players come this NHL trade deadline. Murray's phone has started to ring and he has plenty of depth on a young blueline to make a move. The Ducks have six defensemen who are 25 or under: Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen, Josh Manson, Hampus Lindholm, Brandon Montour, and Shea Theodore. On this show, we talk about who the Ducks may trade from their blueline. Murray could trade Vatanen in order to bring ina long-term forward instead of a rental. Montour and Theodore could also be options as Murray has received phone calls on both. With the expansion draft coming in the future, Murray could also trade Manson in order to avoid losing him in the draft for nothing. We explore all these options on this podcast. We also cover the new forward line combinations, how Anaheim can improve in the final months of the season, and their chances in the postseason.

Trades On The Horizon? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2179

The Anaheim Ducks placed Clayton Stoner on the Long-Term Injury Reserve(LTIR) per CapFriendly.com. Stoner had abdominal surgery in December and was slated to be out 4-6 weeks, but now it appears it will be longer. Anaheim currently has about $2.8 million in cap space as the trade deadline approaches. On this week's podcast, we explore some trade partners the Ducks could make deals with. Anaheim had struggled with scoring goals consistently in the recent weeks and a trade for a scoring forward appears imminent. We cover injury news and how it will affect potential trades for the Ducks. We also look at the rest of the road trip and discuss how the Ducks can generate more offense. Lastly, we share our thoughts on how far this Ducks team can go in the playoffs this season.

Anaheim: Cap Problems | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3097

The Anaheim Ducks came out of the All-Star break receiving some good news today. Jakob Silfverberg was at practice skating with contact and Nate Thompson was present as well after being loaned to San Diego for conditioning. Thompson is still listed on the Long-Term Injury Reserve, but when he officially comes back there will be cap issues for Anaheim. Per Capfriendly.com, if Thompson is activated then the Ducks would have only about $200,000 left in cap space. On this podcast, we discuss some options which are available to Anaheim. The Ducks could send some a forward down to San Diego to create some breathing room. Anaheim could also look to trade a defenseman or even possibly Jonathan Bernier. The Ducks did recently acquire Jhonas Enroth and sign Ryan Faragher giving them six goalies in the minor league system(San Diego and Utah combined).

Anaheim: Injuries Start To Mount | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2497

This past week the Ducks beat Tampa Bay and Colorado before losing to Minnesota. The Ducks lost two keys players, John Gibson and Jakob Silfverberg, this week to injuries. Silfverberg was knocked out of the game in Colorado and didn't play in the Minnesota contest. Gibson started the game against the Wild but had to exit early with an injury. Both have upper-body injuries and it's not clear if they will play this week. On this show, we talk about the how the Ducks will have to adjust if Silfverberg or/and Gibson miss significant time. With the All-Star game coming up the timing of these injuries work in Anaheim's favor. We also talk about the format of the All-Star Game and some of the activities leading up to it. Additionally, we also talk about some trade rumors, the Ducks watch party with the NHL Centennial Fan Arena trailer, and we listen to the audio of the hilarious goal call by Craig Elsten of the San Diego Gulls!  Anaheim Continues Defensive Focus | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2822

After a wild win against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Ducks focused on defense and continued to do for the past few weeks. Anaheim has gone 5-1-1 in their last seven games. The Ducks have only given up seven goals during that span and also shutout their opponents three times. John Gibson picked up two shutouts and Jonathan Bernier recorded his first as a member of the Ducks. One area the Ducks could improve on is the power play. Anaheim has only gone 1-for-20 in their last seven games. The Ducks have also struggled in overtime play going 1-8 in the extra session this season. On this show, we take a look at both and how the team can improve each moving forward. Recently the Ducks sent Shea Theodore and Stefan Noesen back to San Diego. Anaheim also acquired Jhonas Enroth from the Toronto Maple Leafs. We analyze these recent moves and how they will impact possible future moves as the trade deadline approaches. Lastly, we talk about the new Adidas jersey policy and Kevin Boyle's new mask.

Life Without Getzlaf | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2472

This past week the Anaheim Ducks played three games at home without their captain Ryan Getzlaf. The Ducks went 2-1-0, winning two games against Detroit and Arizona. They dropped the most recent game to Minnesota. This season the Ducks are 4-2-0 when Getzlaf hasn't played. At today's practice head coach Randy Carlyle focused on the power play unit, which went 0-for-10 this week without Getzlaf. For the season the Ducks are 5-for-19 on the power play when Getzlaf hasn't played in a contest. Getzlaf and Nate Thompson both skated together at practice before the team hit the ice. Carlyle hopes Getzlaf will skate with the team tomorrow. Thompson is still approximately at least month away from being ready. On this week's podcast, Eddy and I talk about the Ducks play with Getzlaf. We take a look at the younger players that are having an impact on the Anaheim roster. We also discuss the World Junior Championship and how Anaheim's prospect Tory Terry helped them earn gold. Additionally, we look at how Randy Carlyle has performed so far this season and how Anaheim can improve for the second half of the season.

The game featured everything from a jerseyless fight, a hat trick, overtime, shootout, and even an appearance by Teemu Selanne. On this show, we discuss the Ducks up and down ride this season.
