Schwartzhog Review, Kraeuter Liqueur | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 577

Today we take a look at Schwartzhog, a Kräuter Liqueur, which translates to that of a herbal liqueur, which we can tell just by looking at the bottle...as the bottle reminds us of Jagermeister, another herbal liqueur. Schwartzhog is much the herbal flavor you'd expect without as much anise-back end flavor that you can sometimes pull out of a Jagermeister. So, perhaps Schwartzhog is a bit more timid for those that don't like Jagermeister but would like to like it! On first nosing, we get a strong Coka Cola aroma. It does not taste like coke, but a bit more of a sweeter Jagermeister but the finish has a bit more of a bitter, which turns out to be comparative to that of an aromatic bitter like Angostura.

Malibu Hurricane, with Malibu Coconut Rum | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 785

This drink brings some POW in its easy drinking nature yet you can just feel the alcohol content on your tongue. Perhaps it brings a little bite but it's tough to judge if it's that or a sour flavor. Considering this cocktail isn't balanced with a sour component, the alcohol may be generating the bite for you. In either case, the Malibu Hurricane is simply too easy to drink, goes down really quick and fluid and brings tropical notes to your tongue. It will be hard to put down, so be careful.  The Cinnamonster with B.G. Reynolds Real Orgeat | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 642

Holy crap, an orgeat that tastes like almonds! Today the Cinnamonster utilizes only a few ingredients (one being an Energy Drink) with the primary sweetener being orgeat syrup. This drink has some spicy flavor notes that may be hard to describe, after the taping Ian thought maybe it was aspartame that he was picking up from the Energy Zero we used, but Derrick didn't really get that from it. We make a cocktail today that may make your pee glow. Also, pro tip, drink until your pee is clear.  White Cyclone with Royal Rose Simple Syrup | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 795

The concept of hot and sweet at the same time is interesting and makes for something different in your cocktail experiences. While this isn't extreme heat, it does have a nice step up of heat as you sip and a bit of lip numbing action but nothing too intense. If you like spicy but are timid on those super dangerous hot products, you should be okay on this cocktail. This is a simple syrup, not a shrub, so there isn't any real vinegar flavor on this profile. Having a simple syrup that does something more than just sugar is definitely a neat twist on cocktail creation.  OK Rum Punch with ok.- Energy Drink | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 716

It is Monday and we need to really get a little pick-me-up and ok.- energy drink is the caffeine of choice. After a long week, the ok.- rum punch is designed to relax but also give you a bit of a pep in your step. The flavor of the painkiller with a carbonated texture, the goal was to take a classic cocktail with a new spin while also toning down the ok.- energy drink's citrus bite. The drinks definitely present differently than a pain killer recipe.  Crouching Tiger Shot | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 680

We have very few recipes with Lychee as a component, so Crouching Tiger played into our Lychee Vodka that we purchased many moons ago. If anything, the Blanco Tequila perhaps is the "hidden dragon" in this drink. Ian gets mainly tequila, Derrick gets mainly lychee, what flavors do you get? Crouching Tiger 1/2 oz. Lychee Liqueur / Vodka, 1/2 oz. Blanco Tequila

The Martinez, Updated and Classic Designs | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 775

The classic cocktail known as the Martinez came in two variants, the original utilizing old-tom gin as Jerry Thomas would make it, and the updated revision with more accessible and popular ingredients. Which is better? We make both to see what fits are fancy. You might be surprised. This was definitely an enjoyable experience and a good use of our Vya Vermouth both Dry and Sweet. And, having Old Tom Gin just sitting around is a travesty. The Martinez, Classic 1 Dash Boker's Bitters, 2 Dashes Maraschino Liqueur, 1 oz. Old Tom Gin, 2 oz. Italian Vermouth (Sweet), Quarter Slice Lemon. The Martinez, Updated 2 Dashes Angostura, 2 Dashes Maraschino Liqueur, 1 1/2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. Dry Vemouth, Lemon Piece.

Classic Whiskey Sour | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 729

Today we create a classic whiskey sour, in a coupe with bourbon cherries. This whiskey sour recipe is quite excellent and you'll be hard pressed to find one that's better we think. The texture of this drink is epic, the flavor is stellar and smooth and the cherry just makes it look professional. Impress your friends and family with your cocktail prowess.  Jack Rudy Elderflower Gin & Tonic | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 680

People ask, "what did you drink on New Years Eve?" We drank Jack Rudy Elderflower Gin & Tonics and played Texas Hold'em, that's what we did. Today, we re-create that experience in a collins glass with a bit more soda utilizing the recipe on the back of the Jack Rudy Elderflower Tonic bottle. The Craft cocktail movement is awesome, we can only win with some of these great tonic's and syrups. Elderflower G&T is a simple and fast cocktail that can create a great party with little effort.  The Classic Daiquiri, History and Taste | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 613

This may be the best daiquiri you'll ever make in your lives, so pay attention. The classic Daiquiri is a simple drink but the balance of ingredients plays a huge part given the simplicity of the recipe. In this version of the classic, we're also adding a pinch of salt to really connect the flavors and bring out some of the beauty of the daiquiri. We'll also talk a bit about the inventor of the Daiquiri and the significance that he played on the Bacardi brand.  The Relapse Cocktail, Hair of the Dog! | File Type: video/x-m4v | Duration: 398

The Relapse cocktail, one of the shortest cocktail episodes in years here on CMC. We created the recipe and did an entire 11-minute show and forgot to hit the 'record' button on the camera... so that was fun. This drink will have a bit of a spice to it, thanks to Bittermens Hellfire Shrub, the more you add the more heat and vinegar you'll have in your flavor profile.
