Issues Under Fire

With political headliners like former Attorney General Eric Holder, Chairmen of the DNC, Tom Perez and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo scheduled to attend, according to NAN's slick brochure, the goal of the conference is to discuss the essential role of organizing and how to continue effective mobilizing in the Trump era. The conference will also include Bernie Sanders, although we're still trying confirm precisely what day and time he's expected to make an appearance.

If many Progressives had their way, every Democrat would face a primary challenge from a Progressive Economic Populist. And that's precisely what the Democrats don't get. There is an economic populism movement in the making. The concept has yet to be formally established, but that's what's going on.

To know the Korean people's history, is to know the pain of subjugation, humiliation and separation. They are one people with two identities, living in constant fear. The South Koreans live in constant fear of the North Koreans and the North Koreans live in constant fear of the United States. And given the United States' history of regime change, nation building and empire expansion, North Korea has every reason to be afraid they'll be attacked next.

Howard Dean, former chairmen of the National Democratic Committee and Neera Tanden, head of the Center for American Progress attacked Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii in a series of tweets because the two term Congresswomen had the gumption to challenge the administration for proof that Bashar al-Assad was the culprit behind the horrific incident. From our perspective, Rep. Gabbard was making a reasonable demand considering the pathological liar currently occupying the White House and the U.S.' history of attacking others under before getting its story straight. Iraq and Libya should serve as an adequate reminder.

Lets be clear, the United States has attacked another sovereign nation, that posed no imminent threat or even indirect provocation against it or its national interest. And it is this context, that "We the People" are being asked to accept the word of Donald Trump, a proven liar, that we're not being led to the precipice of the proverbial slippery slope on trumped up charges. We've seen this all before and so have you. Maybe they think we forgot.

Considering no independent investigation has been completed to establish who was responsible for exposing Syrian civilians to banned chemical agents, its perfectly rational to wonder how events could've evolved into launching 59 Tomahawk missiles against the Assad government so quickly. Considering Donald Trump's proclivity for making accusations without providing a shred of proof, its perfectly rational to wonder why America's mainstream media is covering this event as though they've accepted Donald Trump's account without question.

The reality is, Syria has become a regional issue to be contained until the bleeding stops of its own accord. The United States have come to terms with the fact that Bashar al-Assad posses no existential threat to its national security. Any further intervention, military or otherwise wouldn't be worth the effort nor the investment.

Doing a Google search to confirm our recollections of how the U.S. covertly engaged other nations to influence election outcomes, we had to add words and phrases like regime change, government overthrows and nation building. The results were jaw dropping. When it comes to meddling in another nation's political and economic affairs, we found nobody even comes close the United States.

After China backed Trump down over its One-China Policy, while continuing to expand its reach and influence in the South China Sea dispute without much more than harsh warnings, its difficult to see what leverage the United States can exert over China to change its course of action. In fact the United States desperately needs China's cooperation in pressuring North Korea to chill with the nuclear testing and long range missile development. Since North Korea is more of a nuisance than a threat to China, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi, has already signaled Beijing's position on that issue prior to President Xi's visit.

Left with a decision that could change the trajectory of their lives forever, having access to family planning options may be a women's only salvation. At a time when understanding, compassion and unconditional support is required, the last thing a women needs is a preacher politician or public opinion playing a role in one of the most private decision she'll have to make in her life.

When I realized New York City has a population of roughly 8.6 million with more than a half million "UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLES" among the count, I did the math. And what I found was one in every fifteen New Yorkers don't have their "PAPERS". This fact opened my eyes. I started seeing Black and Brown slaves everywhere. Inquiring minds are within reason to ask if Michael Flynn had the resources and crews in place to accomplish task like this? How would they do it. Would the "The Package" have been spirited away in the middle of the night and flown half way around the world with a black bag over his head until he's unshackled in Ankara and handed over to the Turkish authorities?

Billionaires don't have health plans. They don't need them. Billionaires have private physicians to attend their healthcare needs privately. Billionaires don't go to the doctor's office, because a billionaire's attending physician makes house calls. If a prescription in necessary, its written and delivered to the billionaire's home or office within hours. Its kinda like that show Royal Pains, where highly talented medical professionals provide concierge type physicians services to the uber-rich and ultra-elite. Think of it, someone who's lived a life without even understanding what it means to stand on a line for a minute, couldn't possibly understand what it means to sit in an emergency room for hours.

Bottom line: For the moment, forget about the FBI's Trump-Russia connection investigation. While waiting for the other shoe to drop in that looming scandal, we need you to pay close attention to how this scam is being perpetrated. If Americans allow the Trump administration to get away with this classic bait and switch slip scheme get pass them, you can bet your bottom dollar, they'll be a lot more coming. According to ABC.com, a Ukrainian lawmaker today said he has fresh proof (something the White House is unfamiliar with) that Paul Manafort, received illegal, off-the-books payments (The Black Ledger) from Ukraine’s pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych before he was literally ran out of the country. If it can be proven Mr. Manafort was dealing with Yanukovych in any capacity, the White House won't have to wait for the fire, they'll be choking on the smoke.
