Issues Under Fire

With Israel's reputation for uber-senstivitiy to even the slightest criticism, UNESCO's leadership should've seen this coming. Given the fact that withdrawing from the organization has been routinely threatened, along with withholding funding to sway the decision making process, expecting the Trump administration, infamous for just such tactics, to react any other way was shortsighted. Considering the United States left for similar reasons in 1984 during the Reagan administration, the organization should have been prepared to respond with more than acknowledging its profound regrets.

Believe it or not, there are legions of other unstable morons who love, listen and remain loyal to their Twittiot-in Chief. They look forward to "45"s unconventional, in your face, method of communication. They don't think "45" is an UNSTABLE MONON at all. They think he's funny, clever and witty. They want him to turn the world upside down. They think "45" is a refreshing change from the boring nature of certainty and stability. Unfortunately, being unstable morons themselves, they're unaware of the danger "45" poses.

No matter how long, hard or angry this battle gets, America's race war of words must only have one outcome. The right to free speech must prevail over patriotic sentiments. If Black America loses its fight for freedom of speech, all of America loses.

By all accounts and by any reasonable measure, the individual in the Oval Office masquerading as leader of the free world is a dangerous compilation of discombobulating complexities. Some have simply defined that complicated descriptor as "MORON" and they may be right. But considering "45's" proclivity for disruption and distraction we think "MORON" understates the seriousness of the problems we face. Podcast below.

At a time when the people of Puerto Rice found themselves at their lowest point in the island's history, they were belittled and berated by someone calling himself their president. Instead of embracing the islanders during their time of despair, they were told by "45" that "Puerto Rico was throwing America's budget out of whack". He let Puerto Ricans know how much Puerto Rico was costing the taxpayers. They were scolded for being in debt. They were reminded, that despite the total devastation, their infrastructure sucked before the hurricanes. It wasn't pretty.

The deadly carnage was unequaled by anything America or the world had seen before. Hundreds were butchered by bullets raining down from the sky. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. The killer had prepared to make history and he did. According to an ABC News headline, authorities found 23 guns and multiple loaded high capacity magazines in the hotel room. By the time the killer was done, the lives of thousands had been changed forever. Unfortunately, all we a can do is morn the dead and support the survivors, because we all know this will happen again, again and again.

Being of sound mind, its difficult to delve into the depths of madness to comprehend the mental processes of mad men, so one can only speculate when advancing the theory that Donald Trump may be looking for any excuse to trigger a military option against the Kim regime. Despite the cost of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to send Rex Tillerson to China for a diplomatic chat to "calm things down" over the North korean denuclearization dispute, "45" appears to be insistent upon using inflammatory and provocative tweets to keep tensions soaring.

In the aftermath of Maria's catastrophic collision with Puerto Rico, already reeling from the effects of Irma, the immediate visuals coming from the island was total devastation. There is no power, no fresh water, no fuel for cars, cooking or air conditioning. But worst of all, food and medicine is running out. In a few hours, the Island was reduced to rubble and need was tremendous. Sadly, the response was businesslike and dispassionate. Despite the suffering that called for a "we'll do everything humanly possible attitude", Puerto Rico is being left hanging out to dry.

While we may be still in the name calling phase of this dispute, the threats are not veiled, the language is harsh and definite. If you do this, we will do that. This could be the showdown the world has been trying to avoid for decades. The only mystery left in this story, is who fires first.

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump was seen as a joke, a fraud, a fake and a phony. For the most part, Trump wasn't even taken that seriously. Donald Trump was just entertainment. He was never supposed to win the presidency. But when he did, the joke was on the world because this fraud, fake and phony was seriously flawed. Undisciplined, egotistical, narcissistic and pathological liar are terms regularly used to describe Donald Trump by mental health professionals who've assessed his public behavior.

The Affordable Healthcare Act, with its 10 Essential Health Benefits is what universal/single-payer healthcare in all other industrialized nations looks like and its working just fine. Perhaps the ACA aka Obama-care could be made to work as well as it does in Europe and Canada, but we all know its being sabotaged by forces loyal to the insurance industry. In every universal healthcare delivery model we studied, the cost for services and prescription drugs were lower and the outcomes are better. That's just a fact. So the question to be answered is, how much longer can so called moderate Democrats get away with telling their constituents universal/single-payer healthcare is not possible, viable or practical?

Of all the takeaways one could find at this year's U.N. General Assembly to focus on, ours was America being called out as a nation not to be trusted, relied upon or followed. Donald Trump stood on the world stage and called the Iran Nuclear Deal an embarrassment to the United States. He stated in on uncertain terms that he intended to revisit, review and renegotiate the deal to America's satisfaction. Despite the fact that Iran nuclear deal was agreed upon by the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council plus Germany and to date have confirmed and certified Iran's full compliance through the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), rigorous inspection process, Donald Trump remains determined to undermine that progress.

Can you imagine if Putin, Xi and "45" could've used the opportunity sit down in private and discuss America's nuclear standoff with North Korea? Perhaps they could convince the American Twittiot of the obvious. North Korea is America's problem, not there's. North Korea isn't pointing missiles or threatening them.

If you look up the definition of stateless, you'll find it means to be a person without a country. To be stateless is to be a person with no legal right to be anyplace on earth. You have no right to work, go to school or even stand on a public street corner to beg for something to eat. You are a nobody. A nothing. Many undocumented immigrants who find themselves hiding in America are just that. Stateless. Most can't return from whence they came for a host of horrid reasons, but they can't stay here. The undocumented, along with their children are currently being told in no uncertain terms, you are not wanted. Just GTFO.

For a time, the vast majority of Black athletes and entertainers heeded White America's not so subtle warning. You can get rich singing and dancing and running and jumping in America, but if you want to enjoy the beautiful house, the big bucks, the fancy cars the lucrative endorsements and live the life of the rich and famous, you have to do it with your mouth shut. To vocalize any support for racial justice or Black pride will not be tolerated by White America. Blacks in positions of influence must speak through a self imposed filter. They can be seen, but not heard. And still, Colin Kaepernick broke the rules most "accepted Blacks" followed. And yes, he too is paying the price.
