Summary: After China backed Trump down over its One-China Policy, while continuing to expand its reach and influence in the South China Sea dispute without much more than harsh warnings, its difficult to see what leverage the United States can exert over China to change its course of action. In fact the United States desperately needs China's cooperation in pressuring North Korea to chill with the nuclear testing and long range missile development. Since North Korea is more of a nuisance than a threat to China, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi, has already signaled Beijing's position on that issue prior to President Xi's visit.
