The Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump scandal is a hot topic in the news right now. How do we view this issue from a Christian perspective? What does the alleged affair say about our President’s spiritual state – is Trump really a Christian? What kind of impact does it have on our nation when our political leaders fail to live a life pleasing to God? In this podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell shares his thoughts on the Trump and Stormy scandal from the perspective of a local pastor. He reminds us of what the Bible says characterizes a true believer, exhorting us not to try to “Christianize” those leaders whose lifestyles conflict with what we see in Scripture. Instead, he encourages us to pray for our leaders’ salvation. Political leaders like President Trump set the trajectory for our nation, and it’s our desire that they would lead us in righteousness. Dr. Caldwell reminds us, however, that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven. Because this nation is not our final home, we don’t have to be caught up in the day-to-day drama we see in the news, like the Trump and Stormy scandal. Our hope is founded in God, the King over all the earth. Should I Get a Divorce? ‌My spouse was unfaithful, should i get a divorce?‌ What does the Bible say about divorce? What do I do if my spouse has sinned against me by committing adultery? Do I have a right to divorce my spouse if he/she has been sexually unfaithful? In this podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell and special guest Dr. Ken Ramey address these weighty issues in light of Scripture. They discuss the role of forgiveness and compassion in a marriage where even the most heinous sins have been committed. After speaking to the issue of divorce itself, Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Ramey take a step back and explore marriage in its larger context – as a picture of the relationship between God and His people, the church. Using this Scriptural analogy, they explain that, in a spiritual sense, we are all adulterers; yet God is consistently faithful to love and forgive us. His desire is to hold onto us forever, not divorce us or put us away. What does this mean for our marriages?
