"Fail fast, fail often" – Unknown Nothing in life helps you improve faster than learning from your mistakes. It teaches you more life lessons than success ever can. When you know why something went wrong it is easier to plot a path to success. If you are a serious athlete and I know you are, one thing that would stand between your big goals and dreams is FAILURE AND MISTAKES, that’s right FAILURE. Episode 26 breaks down how you should learn from those mistakes and also how you should approach them. At the end of this episode you should start seeing your mistakes from a different perspective.  EP 25 - Paul Pogba - Why is he worth 100million? He has the determination to succeed. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:17:12

"your determination in life is what sets you apart from every other person in this world with talent" – Tola Ogunlewe Don’t let the price tag fool you. The issue in this episode is not whether Pogba is worth 100million, the issue is what we can learn from his career so far. You see the fact that those figures are even being thrown around means he is doing something right. So if you are smart and I know you are, your focus should be on why he is even being talked about in that breath. What could be going on behind the scenes. Well, let me help with that. I studied Pogba in detail over the last few weeks and found exactly the things that make him the athlete he is today. Its no coincidence that many of the top athletes today actually use this technique in their career. Pogba amongst other things had a huge desire to succeed. It had nothing to do with his talent or physique. It had everything to do with his innate desires. Coupled with that Pogba is on a constant path to improvement. So what is your desire? Are you even concerned about improving? Episode 25 breaks down Paul Pogba’s career so far and the simple lessons you can learn from him. Be different, Pogba can be that difference for you. Enjoy the episode and the lessons we share. ACTION FOR TODAY I want you to first look at the team around you. Are they guiding and protecting you? Do they have your interest at heart? Second I want you to question your desire. Ask yourself if you are willing to do anything to succeed. Ask yourself how far you are willing to go. Before you go into your next training session or game, find answers to these questions. Get in touch with me. tola@athletemaestro.com P.S.  EP 23: Why its critical for you to analyze your performances as an athlete. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:16:36

"there is a syndrome in sports called paralysis of analysis " – Arthur Ashe What make the best athletes in the world successful? What makes them great? This are great questions. Imagine you sat for an exam in school and you never got the results for the exam. How would you know whether you failed or succeeded? Imagine you sold goods or products and you never got any feedback from your clients, how would you know if they enjoyed the product or not? For all you care they could have bought the products and abandoned it. It happens. How does this apply to sports and the topic for today you might ask. Well, in order to determine the amount of progress you are making as an athlete you need to analyze your performances. How do you know what you should be working on? By taking a closer look at your performances. That’s what would determine your progress. That’s what would determine if you are heading in the right direction. The greatness of the superstar athletes lies in improving on where they currently are and the only way to do that is to analyze your performances. In this Episode 23, I tell you why its important to take a closer look at your performances and what it would mean to your career. I also give you examples of superstar athletes who analyze their performances regularly and the success they currently enjoy. ACTION FOR TODAY I want you to take a closer look at your most recent performance. The last race you ran or the last match you played. I want you to be alone when you do this. Now tear out a sheet of paper and write down what went well and what went wrong. When you finish this I want to you discuss with your team. If you don’t have a team you can send me a mail, I’ll be your team, I already am, after all you are listening to the podcast. Now discuss with them on ways they think you can improve on that recent performance. Get that feedback and the rest would flow from there. Get in touch with me. tola@athletemaestro.com P.S.  EP 22 - Tim Duncan - Focus on the fundamentals of your sport and you will succeed | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:18:14

"when I was young I had to learn the fundamentals of basketball. You can have all the physical ability in the world, but you still have to know the fundamentals" – Michael Jordan Tim Duncan is one of those stories in sport you don’t get to hear often. He is one of those guys who never stand out but yet have something special about them. In my study of Duncan I found that some of the traits which distinguished him from his peers were traits that had been around a long time. My favourite is that Duncan had a stoic attitude. He got on with the job regardless of what was going on around him. Many would often say he never showed emotion and you didn’t know when he was happy or upset. What they didn’t know was this attitude was a mask Duncan used to get on with the job. I want you to pull a Tim Duncan today and take in all the lessons I share here on this episode. Duncan recently retired to much acclaim the greatest power forward in the games history and one of the greatest all round players to ever grace the hardwood. There is no better person to learn from. This Episode 22 should highlight what you need to be focusing on as an athlete and why its key to trust the team around. I really hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed studying Tim and bringing out these lessons for you. ACTION FOR TODAY Tear out a sheet of paper and write what you think the fundamentals in your sport are. What are those things that without them you could never succeed in your sports. You done that? Next I want you to be honest with yourself and check the boxes beside each one that reflect the fundamentals that you currently possess. By the end of this exercise you would know what you should work on next and how fast you should work on it. Get in touch with me. tola@athletemaestro.com P.S. This Episode should motivate you to dig deep into yourself and find that reason. ACTION FOR TODAY Take a look within yourself and identify just how important your goals and dreams are and what you would be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve them. Its not enough to just know the goals, you must know how far you are willing to go. So identify what you are willing to give in order to achieve that goal. And WHY should anyone care?" - Simon Sinek In his great book Simon Sinek discuses the power behind your "why" and why its critical for every entrepreneur to discover it in order to succeed in business. "Forget about the consequences of failure. Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success." Denis Waitley In this episode we discuss one of the most avoided topics in the world, FAILURE. Why are we afraid to fail? Why are you afraid to fail? Why is your mind so programmed on fear?
