The Anaheim Ducks had a rough week seeing their captain Ryan Getzlaf being placed on the injury reserve list. The Ducks also lost all three of their games each essentially by one goal. Last Friday the Anaheim Ducks bounced the Montreal Canadiens out of Honda Center with a wild 6-2 win. The Ducks did lose Cam Fowler to injury in the game. To make matters worse the Ducks announced today that Patrick Eaves has Guillain–Barré syndrome, which causes the immune system to attack the nerve system. Both players have been placed on the injury reserve.  On this show, we discuss how the Ducks will have to carry on without both Fowler and Eaves. We talk about the possibility of Anaheim trying to make a trade and how they will have to adjust the lineup due to the injuries. The Anaheim Ducks started out the season with a four-game homestand. Despite having a depleted squad the Ducks were able to manage five points out of a possible eight points. Now the Anaheim Ducks are faced with also being without Ryan Kesler for at least the first couple months of the season. The Ducks signed Cam Fowler to an eight-year extension and picked up Ryan Miller as a back-up goalie on July 1st. Since then the Ducks haven't signed any big name players in free agency. The Anaheim Ducks have been active so far this weekend. Cam Fowler was signed to an eight-year extension worth about $52 million. The Ducks also signed Ryan Miller, Derek Grant, and Michael Liambas. Anaheim still has about $5.7 million in cap space. On this show we talk about the Ducks moves so far and what could be the next move for Anaheim. We analyze the Ducks chances next season with the current roster and whether or not they should add another player(s) to the lineup.  Lastly, we take a look around the league and discuss several of the free agent signings.

This past week was a busy time for the NHL and the Anaheim Ducks were no exception either. The Ducks lost Clayton Stoner and Shea Theodore in the Expansion Draft. There are also reports that Nate Thompson, Jonathan Bernier, and Jhonas Enroth could test the free agent market and may not return to Anaheim. Emerson Etem and Ryan Faragher are also set to become unrestricted free agents on July 1st as they both weren't given a qualifying offer. The Ducks are going to look to add some pieces to make another great run in the 2017-18 season. On this show, we talk about what other players the Ducks could add to their roster. Anaheim did re-sign Patrick Eaves for three more years and also Korbinian Holzer for two more years, but they still need to add more. We also talk about the NHL Entry Draft, Ducks player updates, and the announcement of Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya being named to the Hockey Hall of Hame.

Today NHL teams revealed their protection lists for the expansion draft. The Ducks protected seven forwards, three defensemen, and one goalie. The protected forwards include Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Ryan Kesler, Jakob Silfverberg, Rickard Rakell, Andrew Cogliano, and Antoine Vermette. Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, and Kevin Bieksa were the protected defensemen. The Ducks also protected goalie John Gibson, which was expected. The question for General Manager Bob Murray is how can he prevent Vegas from taking Josh Manson or Sami Vatanen in the expansion draft. There have been several reports that Murray is working on a deal with Vegas GM George McPhee. On this show, we talk about the Ducks situation and how Murray will try to handle it. We also talk about injury updates, the Simon Despres buyout, trades, and the NHL draft.

The season may be over for the Anaheim Ducks, but the expansion draft and regular NHL draft are coming up. The Ducks did make some decisions this week regarding their coaching staff. Most of the staff will return next season with Randy Carlyle getting an extension. Paul MacLean will not return as his contract was not renewed. On this show we talk about the coaching moves, the two upcoming drafts, and the Stanley Cup Final. On this show, we talk about the Ducks series against the Predators and analyze the Ducks play over the course of the six games. We discuss the Ducks organization from the GM Bob Murray and Coach Randy Carlyle to all the players.

The Anaheim Ducks beat the Calgary Flames in four games in the first round. In round two, the Ducks then beat the Edmonton Oilers in seven games and now are set to face the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference Final. On this show, we break down the regular season between the Ducks and Predators. We also look at both the Ducks and Predators playoff performances so far as part of our Western Conference Final preview. The Ducks are still missing a few players from their lineup. According to GM Bob Murray, it appears Kevin Bieksa could be back soon. Patrick Eaves is working out and might return at some point this series. Murray also said Clayton Stoner is an available option.

The Oilers knocked the San Jose Sharks out of the playoffs in six games. On this show, we break down the regular season numbers between the Ducks and Oilers. We look at both the Ducks and Oilers playoff performances so far as part of our second round preview. We provide several player updates including Cam Fowler, Clayton Stoner, and Simon Despres. Lastly, we take a look at the other three playoff series and share our thoughts on who will prevail in each matchup.
