FLOW #17 - Future Technology Predictions that Will Transform Our World (5G, AI, Medical) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 783

You're listening to the 17th episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is about future technology predictions that I have that I believe will fundamentally transform our world into a digital god zone. When we think about 2050 it seems like it is ages from now and we imagine a completely different world, but in reality, it is just 30 years from now and we can already know what will be possible to have by that time. We have a lot of environmental, social problems and let’s see how technology may solve them by 2050. Ray Kurzweil – the world’s foremost futurist, authoring bestsellers like “The Age of Spiritual Machines” and “How to Create a Mind.” He’s so influential that Google hired him to lead its artificial intelligence efforts. He is very well known for making predictions, which are right about 86% of the time. Please let me know how you like these daily FLOW episodes. Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/

#87 - Allen Gannett | The Creative Curve: How to Develop the Right Idea, at the Right Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1990

Big data entrepreneur Allen Gannett overturns the mythology around creative genius, and reveals the science and secrets behind achieving breakout commercial success in any field. We have been spoon-fed the notion that creativity is the province of genius -- of those favored, brilliant few whose moments of insight arrive in unpredictable flashes of divine inspiration. And if we are not a genius, we might as well pack it in and give up. Either we have that gift, or we don’t. But Allen shows that simply isn’t true. Recent research has shown that there is a predictable science behind achieving commercial success in any creative endeavor, from writing a popular novel to starting up a successful company to creating an effective marketing campaign. As the world’s most creative people have discovered, we are enticed by the novel and the familiar. By understanding the mechanics of what Gannett calls “the creative curve” – the point of optimal tension between the novel and the familiar – everyone can better engineer mainstream success. In a thoroughly entertaining book that describes the stories and insights of everyone from the Broadway team behind Dear Evan Hansen, to the founder of Reddit, from the Chief Content Officer of Netflix to Michelin star chefs, Gannett reveals the four laws of creative success and identifies the common patterns behind their achievement.Allen Gannett is the founder and CEO of TrackMaven, a marketing analytics service whose clients have included Microsoft, Marriott, Saks Fifth Avenue, Home Depot, Aetna, Honda, and GE. He has been on the “30 Under 30” lists for both Inc. and Forbes. He is a contributor for FastCompany.com and has an upcoming book The Creative Curve, on the disciplined pursuit of creativity, coming out in June 2018 from Currency, a division of Penguin Random House. He was also once a very pitiful runner-up on Wheel of Fortune.- https://amzn.to/2JtWdK2- https://www.linkedin.com/in/allengannett/- https://twitter.com/AllenPlease do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/

Inspiration | Enable Your Own Conscious Reality Distortion Field | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 224

You are the Matrix. "I can tell you right now, today in this moment, I promise you the Matrix has you. It's our belief system. It is so ever-present, it is so ingrained into the fabric of who you are and the way you process data, you don't even notice it. This is the thing that impacts your life, it is your inability to see that your mindset controls everything.” - Tom Bilyeu Wow. Now, I didn’t really understand the notion of this internal-external reality mirroring concept until I heard Jason Silva say: "We know from Neuroscience, that reality is coupled to perception, and perception is skewed. So the reality in which we live normally, that analog reality has still has built in hundreds of cognitive slipages and biases, not to mention the cultural reality tunnel in which we live, not to mention the language that is our operating system.”I digged into this, and I found that the science recognizes that the brain has hundreds on hundreds of cognitive biases that literally construct, our reality to see how we see it and operate within it. Understand that you are actually creating and controlling your life in the thinnest sliced moments that you can even imagine. Everything you say, everything you do, every choice you make in those thinnest slices moments in life is like an architect building your life right before your very eyes." - Mary ShoresMmm interesting…My friend, Dr. Bobby Koneru stated: “In elementary school, I was the only Indian in my class and only one of a few through high school. Kids, not knowing better, can exclude those who are different. There were many times when I felt emotionally isolated. Our ancient brain specializes in assessing how others treat you. On that evidence, it renders a determination of your value and assigns you a status. If you are judged by your peers as low worth, neurotransmitters and chemicals are released to propagate that reality for you.” I had a similar story to Bobby. And when I changed my environment, when I started eating healthy fats, vegetables, seeds, nuts, exercising on a regular basis, sleeping 8 hours a day, meditate in order to train my attention muscle, surrounding myself with extraordinary people, changed from negativity to positivity….“When you need to survive when you need to make something happen at all costs, your brain and the way you see the world starts to re-adjust." - Kevin HongI literally saw a visual shift of reality happen in front of my eyes in a few months. The world went from literally black and white to a shiny glistening miracle I could look at all day. and that’s when I started understanding Steve Job’s reality distortion field - to italicize perception in his co-workers, to allow someone to see the world in a different way, an alternate universe than what’s possible - that’s our reality Life is a funhouse mirror - Tom Bilyeuand this isn’t just about being happy and positive all the time, as David Meltzer says:"Happy people don't get sick. Happy people don't hurt other people. There would be no destruction or diseases if everyone was truly happy."Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn -

FLOW #15 - Transformative Power of Gratitude | Giving Thanks Social Media Challenge | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 413

You're listening to the 15th episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on the crushing healing power of expressing gratitude. Gratitude has been studied to improve physical, psychological and emotional health. A dose of gratitude a day can transform the way you perceive and experience the world. Here are 7 scientifically proven benefits:1. Gratitude opens the door to more relationships. Not only does saying “thank you” constitute good manners, but showing appreciation can help you win new friends, according to a 2014 study published in Emotion. The study found that thanking a new acquaintance makes them more likely to seek an ongoing relationship. So whether you thank a stranger for holding the door or send a thank-you note to that colleague who helped you with a project, acknowledging other people’s contributions can lead to new opportunities. 2. Gratitude improves physical health. Grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and report feeling healthier than other people, according to a 2012 study published in Personality and Individual Differences. Not surprisingly, grateful people are also more likely to take care of their health. They exercise more often and are more likely to attend regular check-ups, which is likely to contribute to further longevity. 3. Gratitude improves psychological health. Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert Emmons, a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression. 4. Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression. Grateful people are more likely to behave in a prosocial manner, even when others behave less kindly, according to a 2012 study by the University of Kentucky. Study participants who ranked higher on gratitude scales were less likely to retaliate against others, even when given negative feedback. They experienced more sensitivity and empathy toward other people and a decreased desire to seek revenge. 5. Grateful people sleep better. Writing in a gratitude journal improves sleep, according to a 2011 study published in Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. Spend just 15 minutes jotting down a few grateful sentiments before bed, and you may sleep better and longer. 6. Gratitude improves self-esteem. A 2014 study published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology found that gratitude increased athletes’ self-esteem, an essential component to optimal performance. Other studies have shown that gratitude reduces social comparisons. Rather than becoming resentful toward people who have more money or better jobs—a major factor in reduced self-esteem—grateful people are able to appreciate other people’s accomplishments. 7. Gratitude increases mental strength. For years, research has shown gratitude not only reduces stress, but it may also play a major role in overcoming trauma. A 2006 study published in Behavior Research and Therapy found that Vietnam War veterans with higher levels of gratitude experienced lower rates of post-traumatic stress disorder. A 2003 study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that gratitude was a major contributor to resilience following the terrorist attacks on September 11. Recognizing all that you have to be thankful for —even during the worst times—fosters resilience. Please let me know how you like these daily FLOW episodes. Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter -

Bob Sutton is a Stanford University professor and author of six management books, including the New York Times & Wallstreet Journal bestsellers, The No Asshole Rule and, Good Boss, Bad Boss. He is an IDEO Fellow and co-founder of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program and the Stanford Design Institute (known as the d.school). Equally useful and entertaining, The Asshole Survival Guide delivers a cogent and methodical game plan when you find yourself working with a jerk—whether in the office, on the field, in the classroom, or just in life. Sutton starts with diagnosis—what kind of asshole problem, exactly, are you dealing with? From there, he provides field-tested, evidence-based, and sometimes surprising strategies for dealing with the rude, impolite, irritating, unpleasant, or just plain incompetent—avoiding them, outwitting them, disarming them, sending them packing, and developing protective psychological armor. Sutton even teaches readers how to look inward to stifle their own inner jackass.

Ultimately, this survival guide is about developing an outlook and personal plan that will help you preserve the sanity in your life, and will prevent all those perfectly good days from being ruined by some jerk."This survival guide is here to help keep you from going insane. It’s full of science-driven tips and strategies on how to deal with nasty bosses, manipulative colleagues, or other general jerks in your life." — W Magazine"People are jerks. And there’s plenty of evidence to prove it in the very blunt self-help book called “The A—hole Survival Guide,” a scholarly source that teaches fed-up readers how to deal with co-workers, strangers and just about anyone who sucks." —Moneyish"Sutton offers a variety of techniques that people suffering the presence of difficult individuals at their work, in their sports teams or just in everyday life can employ to deal with them or fight back. . . This is a small book but it could play a big part in making us treat others better." —Forbes "If everyone had paid attention to the Stanford business professor's best-selling 2007 management manifesto, "The No Asshole Rule," there would be no need for a follow-up. Yet here we are." —EsquireThe crowded genre of workplace bullying books features clever titles...the best of the authors in the category is Stanford Professor Robert Sutton, who published The No Asshole Rule a decade ago and returns now with a more fully developed plan of action." —The National Book Review"Sutton’s breezy writing style, combined with the wide array of anecdotes and stories from people who’ve written him about their difficulties, makes for an entertaining read...consider that the physical book itself might be a solution to an a-hole at work. Much like the effect Sutton’s first book reportedly has had, simply leaving The Asshole Survival Guide prominently on your desk may send all the signal you need." —SmartUp “In this most-welcome sequel to Sutton’s bestselling The No Asshole Rule, the author turns from an organization-wide perspective to an individual one, outlining strategies for dealing with difficult people at work.” —Publishers Weekly“Bob Sutton is very wise and very funny, AND he can tell you exactly how to handle the unfortunate reality that into every life a few assholes must fall. THE ASSHOLE SURVIVAL GUIDE is destined to become your go-to resource whenever you find yourself dealing with people who would treat you poorly.” —Susan Cain, New York Times bestselling author of QUIET “At last someone has provided clear steps for rejecting, deflecting, and deflating the jerks who blight our lives.  #84 - Scott Santens | Money for Nothing? The Truth About Universal / Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3817

Scott Santens is a writer and advocate of basic income for all; Citizen of Earth and New Orleans; Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Moderator of the /r/BasicIncome community on Reddit; Founder of the BIG Patreon Creator Pledge, and overall a great Human 2.0! Check out Scott's auto-bio here: ou may also know me as "2noame", or as "that basic income guy from the Atlantic article talking about fish", or "that guy on Huffington Post warning about the effects of self-driving trucks in an America without a basic income already in place", or that speaker who presented about the need for basic income at the first World Summit on Technological Unemployment, or that guy who talked about basic income with Nick Hanauer at Brookings. Basically, if you're spent any amount of time looking into the idea of an unconditional basic income, there's a good chance you've read something I've written.I'm a writer and now increasingly an activist spending as much time and resources I have working to spread awareness for the idea of a unconditional basic income (UBI) - one whose time has come here in the 21st century where technology is now forcing our hand. Without an income platform set just above the poverty level as a bare minimum, I believe poverty and inequality will continue to grow, the middle classes will continue to shrink, and the livelihoods of all but the top fifth of society will continue to slip away. But it doesn't have to be that way. We're better than that. We can turn all of this on its head, and instead of things continuing to get worse, we can make things better than they've ever been. We can reduce risk and so propel innovation and creativity to new heights. We can reduce fears of unemployment and purposely eliminate low-skill jobs better performed by machines, freeing us to intrinsically do all the work that drives us. We can stop wasting so many resources on fighting the fires of our lives, and instead prevent them from ever lighting in the first place. We need only make the choice. The path is ours to take.Starting in 2013, my most popular article I'd written about basic income became was "Why Should We Support the Idea of an Unconditional Basic Income?" It made Medium's Top 100 in June 2014, but it was surpassed by my article, "Self-Driving Trucks Are Going to Hit Us Like a Human-Driven Truck," in 2015 which was republished across multiple media outlets and has likely altogether garnered over 1 million views. In 2016, my article, "Deep Learning is Going to Teach Us All the Lesson of Our Lives: Jobs are for Machines," garnered over half a million views on Medium and was published in the Sunday edition of the Boston Globe. In 2017, my most read article was "The Real Story of Automation Beginning with One Simple Chart." When not writing articles related to basic income, I am further researching the idea, and reading and writing comments as a moderator of the basic income community on Reddit - (/r/BasicIncome), where I've helped grow the community from the less than 2,000 subscribers it had when I joined, to over 50,000 today. I do what I can there to help make it a central place for discussion and learning in hopes of gradually gaining momentum for the social movement it will require to eventually be realized. I also run multiple social media accounts in support of basic income: @BasicIncome, Basic Income on Facebook, @rBasicIncome, rBasicIncome on Facebook, and help with the social media outreach of the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN), the U.S. Basic Income Guarantee Network (USBIG), and now Manna. One of my larger projects in 2014 was helping to organize a week-long series of Q&As; on Reddit (there known as AMAs) for International Basic Income Week with prominent proponents of basic income from all over the world. I repeated this in 2015 with another series of AMAs.Since joining Patreon, I have started my own blog focused on answering frequently asked basic...

#83 - Kevin Hong | Living Out of a Van for 2 Years and Building a $15M Company in the Process | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2739

Kevin Hong is a columnist for Inc. Magazine. He has also contributed to CNBC, Forbes, and Huffington Post. During normal business hours, Kevin runs Cinema Intelligence as the CSO, a big data company which is a subsidiary of the Vista Group, (NZE:VGL). Prior to his current role, Kevin co-founded Dealflicks, a movie-ticketing platform that was valued up to $15m. On weekends, Kevin serves as an advisor to several promising startups and a mentor at the University of Chicago. As a 19 year-old college drop-out, I was making nearly $10,000/month. This was 2004 and despite just moving back from Korea at the age of 16 and speaking broken English, I managed to run a successful network marketing business selling outdated beepers and refurbished cell phones in underserved neighborhoods such as Compton and Inglewood. I had a knack for sales and I knew it.Several months into my business, someone poured gasoline on my car and burnt it to the ground. Although the eventual determination was that this bonfire was a random act of violence, my parents were traumatized by the experience and attributed the incident to my business. I went back to school to comfort them and for once to not be the “black sheep” of the family. My dexterity in people skills actualized into a successful stint in poker which transitioned into a career in finance. After I graduated from college in 2007, I became a retail stock broker during the Great Recession. The experience was surreal as several times I found myself comforting grown men who were crying on the phone as well as occasional death threats that occurred because of a rattled client who would blame anything or anyone but themselves for a wrong trade that was made in a stock such as Lehman or Bear Stearns.Itching to re-engage with my entrepreneurial aspirations, I teamed up with a client who had $75M in assets to launch a hedge fund in early 2009. Despite the resources we had, my client eventually had cold feet given the deteriorating market conditions along with the financial scandals such as Maddoff that popped up during this time.Determined to launch my own company, I began to build my own capital by trading options in my personal account. This resulted in a year of 118% in 2011, which provided me the capital along with the financial safety net to help launch Dealflicks.com. (A movie ticketing platform) In 2012, we launched Dealflicks using the most unimaginable bootstrapping methodologies. My mini-claim to fame was building a sales team of up to 5 members out of a van for 2 years, which resulted in 750 theater locations, $7m/yr in revenue annualized, nearly $5m in funding, and countless media coverage. After a co-founder break-up, which led to my departure at Dealflicks, I decided to return my career to the corporate world. I became the chief sales officer of Cinema Intelligence (A Vista Group company, ticker: VGL) and a contributing writer for various media outlets such as Forbes, Huffington Post, Film Journal, and many more.My unique experience in Wall St, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, start-ups, and corporate has given me not only great insight into the world of business but also a wide range of experiences from acting as a distribution consultant for a hollywood film, mentoring for the University of Chicago’s entrepreneurship program as a current MBA student, to coaching executives on sales, marketing, and business development.- https://www.amazon.com/Kevin-Hong/e/B0785DGHY7/ref=dp_byline_cont_ebooks_1- http://www.outlierapproach.com/- https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevinhshong/Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email

FLOW #13 - 6 Actions To Take When Your Life Is Seemingly Falling Apart | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1040

You're listening to the 13th episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on one of the greatest topics I've ever covered. Happiness & positivity are easy when everything is going great, but what about when you are facing pain? You can do three things: 1. We can deny that things are falling apart2. We can accept that things are falling apart and add more energy to the same way of seeing3. We can ask ourselves, what new is trying to be born within me?Actions to Take:1. Be Mindful and MeditateMindfulness meditation is the most impactful activity I do every single day. If you are looking for a sense of direction and solid foundation to build an integral character...this is for you.Meditation teaches you discipline, increases flow, and allows you to slow your mind down and become aware of your thoughts.Once you get your mind right, you can get your life right. Most of the times we are so blindsided on an issue that we focus our energy on the initial negative narrative. Step back and revisit the situation and you will often find your problems have changed or shifted position over your mind.Learning can help expand your perspective which is the layer on reality that is always late to the game and causes problems.Meditation decreases the stress produced by your body and improves the areas of your brain responsible for empathy and love. I used to think meditation was a hippie gimmick as an excuse to sit around and do nothing. Once I started meditating, I realized I was wrong and this bad perception of meditation has negatively harmed my life.I recommend you do a little bit of research on your own. Look up different types of meditation and some scientific studies that show the benefits of meditating. Please don’t say “I can’t meditate because I can’t clear my mind”. Of course, you can’t because you are only human. Mindfulness meditation isn’t about “clearing your head”.I recommend downloading Headspace on the app store. Give meditation a try and let me know how it works out for you in the comments in a couple weeks!I am also advocating for mindfulness throughout your daily life. When you are walking do you feel your feet move back and forth to move you across a massive space rock? When you are eating pay attention and smell and taste your food. Don’t watch or listen to anything. Start practicing mindfulness in all your activities.PAY ATTENTION!2. Put Your Head Down and Work“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” — Martin Luther KingLast summer I was giving my sister a hand moving to New York from Massachusetts. We woke up early at 5 am and packed everything she needed into the U-Haul truck. On our way we stopped by Dunkin Donuts to get some caffeinated drinks.I started thinking to myself “Wow I’m about to drive 4 hours to New York and then move heavy stuff.I stopped myself. Observed myself and the situation that I was in objectively. I told myself “I’m Mark and I’m going to drive for 4 hours. This is it. This is happening.”I soon realized I was in a Zen state. Driving for hours wasn’t actually bad but I automatically perceived it as something awful and grueling. Right when I paused and realized I was in an automatic trance, my mindset was no longer tired or irritated. I was happy because I was about to go on an awesome adventure!I learned a lot from this experience. I had great conversations with my sister and improved my driving skills. I also worked out a couple problems in the back of my head in the background.Moral of the story is, sometimes it’s best to relax, put your head down and do your job. Don’t give yourself the ability to use this event as an excuse for not...

FLOW #12 - FOOD | Most Abused Drug and The Key Element That Controls Your Energy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 575

You're listening to the 12th episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is about one of the most simple yet confusing commodity in today's world, FOOD! THIS IS THE DIET THAT I FOLLOW! 10 Guidelines for the Bulletproof Diet1. Eliminate sugar AND alcohol. Sugar comes in many hidden forms, including fruit juice, sports drinks — even sauces and salad dressings. Even naturally-derived sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, and agave can mess with your blood sugar and make you fat.2. Replace sugar with the right fats. Replacing sweeteners with healthy fats like grass-fed butter, ghee, Brain Octane Oil, XCT Oil, cocoa butter, and coconut oil reduces cravings and gives you more energy. Avoid bad fats like corn, soy, and canola oil and unstable polyunsaturated fats like walnut, flax, and peanut oil.3. Switch to grass-fed meat and wild caught seafood. The quality of your food matters. Choose pastured, grass-fed meat like beef, lamb, and bison. Pastured eggs, pork, chicken, turkey, and duck also make good clean sources of protein. Eat significant amounts of fish and other seafood, but make sure your fish is wild — never farmed!4. Remove grains and gluten. Wheat is a particularly important grain to avoid because of the many negative effects of gluten, a protein found in wheat and other grains. But this category also includes corn, oats, barley, and other cereal grains.5. Eliminate all synthetic additives, colorings, and flavorings. This includes aspartame, MSG, dyes, and artificial flavorings.6. Eliminate legumes such as peanuts, beans, and lentils. If you must have beans, soak, sprout (or ferment), and cook them yourself.7. Remove all processed, homogenized, and pasteurized dairy. Most dairy products contain casein and lactose, two compounds that cause inflammation and digestive distress in many people. Grass-fed butter has much lower levels of casein and lactose because of the churning process, which removes the buttermilk from the butterfat. Most people feel a lot better removing milk, cheese, and other dairy products entirely, but if you want to keep some dairy products, opt for full-fat, raw dairy from grass-fed cows.8. Switch to organic fruits and vegetables. This is more important for some plants than others. You can find a full updated list from the Environmental Working Group.9. Cook your food gently, if at all. Smoking, frying, and grilling can damage the proteins in your meat and produce carcinogens that adhere to the surface. Best to cook your food slow and low, at or under about 320°F. Do not use microwaves or fry your food.10. Limit fruit consumption to 1–2 servings per day. Fruits are not vegetables. Favor low fructose-containing fruits like berries and lemons over higher sugar fruits like watermelon and apples.Vegetables (6–11 Servings a Day!)Bok ChoyBrussel SproutsFennelCeleryAsparagusBroccoliCauliflowerAvocadoCucumberCilantroKaleCollardsSpinachCabbageRadishesZucchiniLettuceSummer/Winter/Butternut SquashArtichokesGreen BeansCarrotsLeeksGreen OnionParsleyOnionShallotsEggplantPeppersTomatoesPeasNuts & Legumes (2–3 Servings)CoconutOlivesAlmondsCashewsHazelnutsMacadamiaPecansWalnutsChestnutsDairy (2–3 Servings)Organic Grass Fed Butter or GheeOrganic Grass Fed CreamOrganic Grass Fed Full Fat Raw Milk or YogurtProtein (4–6 Servings)Grass Fed BeefGrass Fed LambPastured EggsLow-mercury Wild Fish (Anchovies, Haddock, Petrale Sole, Sardines, Sockeye Salmon, Summer Flounder, Trout)Wild Caught SeafoodPastured PorkPastured Duck...

#81 - Sam Demma | 18 Year Old Changing the World One Small Consistent Action at a Time - Environment | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2353

Sam Demma is an 18-year-old founder of an environmentally community-conscious organization, PickWaste in Toronto, Canada.PickWaste is a community initiative that was started out of the necessity to clean up mother earth. We make an impact by cleaning up local landscapes for one hour, once a week. It began as four young men but has quickly spread throughout the community. There are now over 200 people on our email list, and each week we clean up alongside 15-20 local volunteers. We are a team and a family, one that welcomes all members of any age. At PickWaste we know that nature and the vitality of the human species is one and the same. When we pollute Mother Nature, we are in turn causing much unnecessary suffering to ourselves.- The oceans we fill with chemicals is ultimately the water we will drink and the fish we will eat!- The air we pollute with greenhouse gases and smoke from industrial factories is ultimately the air that we will breathe in!- The soil we spray with pesticides and fertilizers is ultimately growing the vegetables and fruits that we will eat! This is why we believe there are so many diseases and degenerative conditions in today's society. This is why we're so passionate about PickWaste and saving the environment, and essentially saving all of humanity! We are big believers in starting small towards producing massive change, and there is no better way to start fixing this problem than by picking up trash. Garbage clean up is so simple, yet so effective.Simple because everyone can participate and there are no educational requirements. Effective because the law of social proof states that when people observe others partaking in any activity they will feel more inclined to join themselves! Its these little consistent actions that will change our planet.X-Navy Seal, William H. McRaven, said that if you do the little things right you can change your life, and then change the world. We believe that picking up garbage is the little thing that can change our community, and then the world will follow!• Completed 40 cleanups in the city of Pickering• Filled over 490 bags of litter • Spoken in front of 16 crowds to spread awareness- pickwaste.ca- https://www.linkedin.com/in/sam-demma/- https://www.instagram.com/sam_demma/Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/
