FLOW #32 - Take a Mentally Boosting Binaural Power Nap, Better Than Coffee | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 373

You're listening to the 32nd episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on a tool I've been experimenting with....binaural power naps after reading Aubrey Marcus' book. Please let me know how you like these daily FLOW episodes.Power naps are, even if only for thirty minutes, very helpful for people to clear their minds if they are struggling with anything during the day. If we can tune ourselves into a higher frequency, even if only for a few minutes before we sleep, we can wake up in that frequency and because we have released ourselves, it is easier to stay there longer. Over time, everything becomes calmer. A lot of people who have suffered from conditions such as depression find themselves tired a lot and wanting to sleep more. Many would struggle to just get out of bed because of this, whilst other people who were feeling down tended to manifest little illnesses here and there such as colds and flu, which is the mind's way of demanding the sleep it needs. The more resistance we feel, the more sleep we will need. A lot of people do not allow themselves to nap during the day as they think it wastes their time but in fact, it is the exact opposite. It will help tremendously and the more we fight it, the less we allow help for our own well-beings. Putting ourselves on a high frequency before sleeping, including every time we wake up in the middle of the night (if we do), can be so beneficial to our daily life and can keep us feeling happier throughout the day. When a machine has run out of battery, it shuts off. We should too. Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/

#104 - Justin Stenstrom | Dear Men, Embrace Life and Become an Elite Man Today | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2297

Justin Stenstrom is a nationally-acclaimed life coach, author, entrepreneur, and speaker. He is the Editor-in-Chief of EliteManMagazine.com, the founder of Elite Life Nutrition, and the host of the Elite Man Podcast where he interviews some of the best self-help experts in the world, including guests like Robert Greene, Grant Cardone, Dr. John Gray, Bas Rutten, Dr. Dale Bredesen, Kevin Harrington and many others. Once anxious, insecure, depressed, and unhappy, Justin’s overcome many of life’s greatest obstacles and loves nothing more than helping others do the same!Justin's auto-biography:My name is Justin Stenstrom. As mentioned above, I’m the man behind EliteManMagazine.com – the world’s #1 website for men’s self-improvement, Elite Life Nutrition – the wildly popular and innovative nutritional supplement company, and the Elite Man Podcast – the #1 men’s health podcast in the world. My work has been featured in hundreds of media outlets including The Huffington Post, Thought Catalog, Maxim, Men’s Health, Bustle, The Good Men Project, Lifehack, Elite Daily, and many more.I love riding motorcycles, mostly in the fast lane, drinking several alcoholic beverages on Saturdays with a select handful of great friends, filling my head with trivial knowledge to show off my Mensa-level IQ at any given opportunity, and playing meaningless but ultra competitive sports games like basketball or ping-pong, typically to the death. And oh yeah, I love pushing the boundaries of my existence to the absolute limit in every single facet of life. It keeps things exciting and me happy.Yup, my life is pretty damn good. But it wasn’t always this way.No, once upon a time, it was awful…There was a period in my life (over 10 years ago) when I was extremely shy, lonely, insecure, anxious, and depressed. Very depressed.I had no confidence, no friends, no social life, and absolutely zero dating life. I was a bona fide loser and couldn’t get a date if I’d hit the lottery and promised to share half my earnings with the ugliest duckling in school. Even she would’ve rejected me for the sad, pathetic young man I was. In fact, when high-school ended I was actually still a virgin… but don’t tell anyone that. And don’t feel bad for me, this was all self-imposed. For years leading up to that point, I was a selfish, inconsiderate, and wholly ungrateful young man, and deserved most of the pain that afflicted me at the time. But one day, after contemplating the numerous manners for which I could go about killing myself and ending all the suffering, something happened. As I mentioned, I’d been extraordinarily depressed during this time and could see no other way out of my struggles. Having to endure constant despair, frequent panic attacks, and unrelenting thoughts of feeling like shit, I’d been obsessively plotting my own demise. But on this particular day, for some reason, something inside me snapped and made me see the light. I had a long hard look at myself in the mirror and truly reflected on my life and where it was dangerously heading. Rather than throw in the towel, I decided to fight.Even now, I’m not sure where this spirit came from, but it came. And with a steadfast fervor to beat my woes, and reclaim my happiness, I set out on my self-help journey. A journey that would span several unbelievably challenging years, but a quest that by its finality would turn me into a completely different man.A happy man. A wise man. A helping man.And yes, an elite man.Since this time, it’s been my sole mission to help other men overcome their struggles as well. To show them the light and carry the torch to illuminate their darkest days. I help hundreds of thousands of men overcome their struggles every month and become the best men they can be.I’m and elite man and I...

Gary Vaynerchuk | When Your Surroundings Are Sh*t, Your Insides Gotta Be Positive | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 252

I heard this clip yesterday from Gary Vaynerchuk and I was amazed at the sheer level of emotional understanding and practicality given by Gary to a 14-year-old boy who's father harrases his family.Sometimes being patient is more difficult than other times... Unfortunately, it's still very often the answer. Mental fitness and getting your operating system (aka your mind) in the right place is no question the way out of difficult situations.. even in the toughest of circumstances.Gary Vaynerchuk is a serial entrepreneur and the CEO and founder of VaynerMedia, a full-service digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients across the company’s 4 locations. Gary is also a prolific public speaker, venture capitalist, 5-time New York Times Bestselling Author, and has been named to both Crain’s and Fortune’s 40 Under 40 lists.Gary is the host of the #AskGaryVee Show, a business and marketing focused Q&A video show and podcast, as well as DailyVee, a docu-series highlighting what it’s like to be a CEO, investor, speaker, and public figure in today’s digital age. - https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comHumans 2.0 Twitter - https://twitter.com/Humans2PodcastTwitter - https://twitter.com/markymetryMedium - https://medium.com/@markymetryFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/mark.metry.9Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/

Please let me know how you like these daily FLOW episodes.Journaling can have a positive effect on your behavior and well being if it:- Makes you step back and evaluate your thoughts, emotions, and behavior- Explores solutions- Brings your emotions and motivations into alignment with your deepest values- Converts negative energy into positive creativity and growth- Lowers your emotional reactivity to others- Increases tolerance of ambiguity, ambivalence, and unpredictability, which are part of normal living- Helps you see other people’s perspectives alongside your own- Makes you feel more humane- Helps you take a definite course of action.Journaling can have a negative effect on your behavior and well being if it:- Makes you live too much in your head- Makes you a passive observer of your life (thinking about how you’ll record it instead of experiencing what is happening)- Makes you self-obsessed- Becomes a vehicle of blame instead of solutions- Wallows in negative things that have happened to you.Below is a guide to reap the benefits of journaling while avoiding the pitfalls.1. Write a few sentences about a problem or negative feelings that you believe need expression:Try to look objectively at the thoughts, emotions, and behavior you expressed.Would you think the same if you felt comfortable? Can you convert the negative energy of this experience into positive creativity and growth?Would you feel the same if you were firmly in touch with your core values? Are you acting according to your deepest values and the kind of person you want to be?2. Write a few sentences about how your description above is in keeping with your deepest values:3. Write a few sentences considering each of the following:What can you learn from this matter? How can you grow from this experience? How can what you learn make the world a better place and you a better person? Can you tolerate a certain amount of ambiguity or lack of clarity about this matter? Is it okay to have mixed feelings about the matter you described above? Can you raise your confidence to deal with the worst case scenario, should it occur?Do you have a plan of action should the worst case scenario happen? What are the perspectives of other people in your problem description? How would they describe the events? What core hurts might they be experiencing or avoiding (unimportant, guilty, devalued, powerless, inadequate, or unlovable)? Are you being as humane and compassionate as you want to be?Do you think the other people involved in your description are more frail than cruel or evil?4. Describe what you will do to improve the situation you described above (if you can't improve the situation, describe what you can do to improve your experience of it, i.e., how you can make it more pleasant or less uncomfortable for yourself):Please do NOT hesitate to reach out to me on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter or via email mark@vudream.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/markmetry/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-metry/Mark Metry - https://www.markmetry.com/Humans 2.0 Twitter -
