In the second hour, the guys discuss the NFL draft. Pro Football Focus rank players 76-101 and the guys debate on whether Carson Wentz was ranked too low. They close the hour with talk about college football playoffs.
In the first hour, Lance and John open the hour with the question “Will Deshaun Watson walk away with more rings than Brady at the end of his career?” They then talk Texans and the NFL. The guys comment on baseball being the next thing to focus on after Super Bowl. They then mention some of the most well known Astros players. The guys review the bets that were placed on the Super Bowl. Lance and John close the show with more NFL.
To open up the second hour, the guys talk about the craziness in Philadelphia last night and Belichick’s questionable decision to bench Malcolm Butler. As the show continues, they discuss the Rockets’ emphatic victory over the Cavs and are joined by Channel 2 reporter Jake Reiner who was in Philadelphia for all the madness last night. To finish it out, Raheel joins the guys and jumps into the Super Bowl discussion.
To kick off a SUPER edition of The Bench, John and Lance break down the Eagles’ epic victory over the Patriots and discuss how great sports have been recently. As the show rolls on, they talk about the Super Bowl commercials, the Philly police scanner, why analysts need to own up to their mistakes, and the excellence of Doug Pederson. To close out the hour, they discuss the scenes in Philadelphia after the Eagles’ victory.
On the second hour, Lance has a hot take! He compares James Harden to the Great Michael Jordan they also talk about how there are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in every locker room. Hall of fame Wide Reciever Tim Brown joins the program as well.
On the first hour, Lance joins the program live from the Kolach... I mean radio row to talk about what is going on in Minnesota, they also talk a little bit about the debacle involving the 790 guys having to do their show from a hotel room. Intern Trey comes on the show AGAIN to give his usual NASCAR update.
In the second hour, the guys talk bets for the Super Bowl. John and Lance talk about how Pink will perform the national anthem, if Justin Timberlake will wear a hat and if Giselle Brady will get camera time. Tampa Bay, defensive tackle, Gerald McCoy joins the show to discuss Mountain dew, a rap battle Super Bowl commercial, OU game, and NFL. The guys then converse about the NFL draft and compare the NFL draft to other sports drafts.
In the first hour, nearly the entire hour consist of John, Lance and producer Del debating on whether the Patriots dynasty is worth praising. Callers give their opinion on their hate, love and appreciation for the team. Jeff Jackowitz from Chicago’s WSCR Jacko and the Kid podcast joins the show to talk about the blow up between Houston radio rivals Josh Innes and Seth Payne.
On the second hour North Texas head football coach Seth Littrell joins the program to talk about recruiting and NCAA regulations, they also talk about the confrontation between Josh Innes and Seth Payne on radio row.
On the first hour, the guys talk about who had a better night last night Alex Smith making seventy million dollars, James Harden scoring sixty or Donald Trump in his speech last night. They also read some of the criticisms that Lance recieved for his mock draft.
John and Lance continue the hour by mentioning the latest college prospects for the NFL. The guys then comment on the Astros offense and debate on whether or not the team will be better in 2018\. They close the hour with more Eagles talk.
The guys begin the show by commenting on the Grammys and Super Bowl ticket prices. “Tom vs Time” is the next topic of conversation as the guys talk Tom Brady. They continue the hour with a discussion about JJ Watt and close the hour by mentioning the Eagles.
In the second hour of the show, the guys start by recapping the events of the weekend, including Tiger finishing 72 holes for the first time in forever. As the show rolls on, Del gives them three weekend events to discuss. To finish the show, the always hilarious Bernie “the Wolf” Wilson joins the guys to talk about his time on radio row.
To open up this week on The Bench, John and Lance recap the Rockets’ win over the Suns and their season so far. As the show continues, they transition to the Michigan State scandal as they discuss the possible involvement of the MSU Basketball team. To finish out the hour, they talk about the craziness that is the Super Bowl radio row.
