John and Lance: John Granato & Lance Zierlein on ESPN Houston

To kick off another episode of The Bench, Adam Wexler fills in for John as he and Lance discuss the Rockets’ chances to take down the Warriors, how James Harden and Chris Paul mesh so well, and what makes James so special. As the show rolls on, they try and figure out who the Rockets’ “enforcer” is, talk about the Sam Darnold not throwing at the combine, and hype up the Astros. To finish out the hour, they try to figure out the best way to handle high school players who are ready for the NBA.

In the second hour, the guys started with Texan’s drafting opportunities. They then discussed comparison Rocket’s vs Warrior’s big 4 players. The guys go into CH 26 TV studio for the rest of the show. They spoke about Millennial’s oral hygiene. They talked a little betting with receiving money for forgoing Game of Thrones, Houston sports championships, no internet, and no coffee. They again discussed Chinese funeral strippers crackdowns.

To start out the show, the guys talked a great ugly win for the shorthanded Rockets. They then mentioned the Jazz fan response to Rocket’s great comeback win. They went into possible fatigue factor for Harden.

In the second hour of the show, the guys continue with the Rockets discussion, get into the NCAA basketball recent news, and then discuss the NCAA transfer rules. To close out the show the guys discuss The Simpsons ability to predict world events.

To kick off a Monday edition of the Bench, John and Lance recap their weekends which were highlighted by Lance putting content thief Chris Landry on blast and Tiger completing another tournament. As the show rolls on, the guys talk about the NFL Draft and break down the Rockets 12th straight victory. To close out the hour, they discuss the delicate balance of chasing regular season goals and resting players to be ready for the postseason.

The guys begin the hour with Cowboys talk, including Randy Gregory and Demarcus Lawrence, then go on to discuss how to fix tanking in the NBA. They end the show talking about the high-quality players that the University of Houston has sent to the professional leagues.

The guys begin the hour discussing the possible sanctions against NCAA teams. Spencer Hall from SBNation.com joins the show to continue the NCAA talk. They end the hour discussing NFL players’ beef with NFL draft rankings.

John and Raheel discussed Canada vs US in The Olympics. The guys commented on Daryl Morey drafts and Spurs’ Leonard issue. They went into Rockets and the return of Ariza and the crowded bench. Lebron with the Rockets? The Bench talked about Charles Barkly NBA travels.

John and Lance discussed Maverick’s improprieties and Astros spring training, live at bats. Forrest Whitley drug suspension not PEDs because they would have posted actual PED. Astros coach Hinch speaks riches in pitching staff a good problem to have. Astros lack power arms in bullpen compared to powers in AL. The guys discussed Tiger in the Honda Classic. Adam Silver suggested seating with all conferences and not by East and West. At the end of the hour they mentioned pace of play in baseball.

On the second hour of the Bench, John Granato sits down with Will Harris to talk about the new addition of Gerrit Cole and what it does to the bullpen going forward. They also have Trey come in to talk about not getting paid.

On the first Hour, John calls in to explain how his Commerx exploded at Spring Traning, he also talks about how everyone had to get dressed up at the station for the open house. John Granato sits down with Houston Astros pitcher Charlie Morton as well.

In the 2nd hour, The Bench discussed the commissioner's new rules to speed up pace of play for the 2018 base ball season.

As the show rolls on, they discuss the All-Star pregame, Johnny Football’s #comebackSZN making an appearance at some All-star parties, and what the Texans can do to improve this offseason.

While John has some trouble connecting from Astros Spring Training, Lance and Del kick off another week on The Bench with some discussion on the Texans’ cutting Brian Cushing and James Harden’s rather disappointing performance in the All-Star game. As the show continues, John connects and MLB.com’s Richard Justice joins them to talk Spring Training and Astros. To round out the hour, they break down Fergie’s “interesting” rendition of the national anthem and are joined by Astros outfielder Derek Fisher to talk about his experience in the legendary Game 5, how he improved, and how great the locker room is.
