In the second hour of the show, the guys continue the live broadcast from the station Christmas party at Klein’s Fine Jewelers. In this hour, they have a little competition as they do some 1 on 1 football drills and Lance gives everyone a draft grade. In-between commentating all the action, the guys sprinkle in a little Astros talk as they discuss a couple potential moves the team can make.
Live from Klein’s Fine Jewelers, John and Lance literally kick off the station’s Christmas party with an onside kick contest. After the contest, they talk a little Texans before their Christmas Day game with the Steelers, discuss the Rockets as they head into the New Year, and reminisce about the season that was for the World Series Champion Astros.
In the second hour of the show, the guys try to recover from the aftermath of Stu as they are joined by ESPN NBA Analyst Mark Jones to talk about the new-look Rockets and preview the Rockets’ Christmas Day matchup with the Thunder. At the bottom of the hour, they discuss fandoms, bandwagoners, and what is acceptable when picking a team. To finish out the show, Tony the Hatchetman Valentine calls in to give you his winners and much, much more.
In the first hour of The Bench, John and Lance start the show breaking down the Rockets loss to the Lakers. After that, absolute hilarity ensues as the now infamous Stu calls in and complains that John and Lance aren’t covering the NFL enough. In response to Stu, the guys open up the info line to help out some of the listeners. To finish out the hour, University of Texas Head Coach Tom Herman joins The Bench to discuss his brand new recruiting class, the impact of the newly implemented early signing period, his team’s preparation for their bowl game, and more.
In the second and final hour of the show, the Texans talk continues as they discuss Bill O’Brien’s performance as Head Coach, compare the team to their division rivals, and look at the roster top to bottom. At the bottom of the hour, some of their coworkers from CultureMap join the guys in the studio to talk about a number of Houston’s best up and coming restaurants. They finish out the show comparing the accomplishments of Jeff Luhnow and Daryl Morey.
In the first hour of the bench, John and Lance kick it off with a few stories and a preview of the station’s Christmas party this Friday. They follow that up with some Texans talk, which dominates the hour as they focus in on some of the front office issues off the field.
In the second hour of the show, Travis Johnson stays in the studio with the guys to talk about Kid n Play – a toy drive for kids affected by Harvey - the station’s Christmas Party at Kleins, and the situation in the Texans locker room. To finish out the hour, the guys continue the discussion about Jimbo and what he’s going to bring to A&M.
To open the show, John and Lance discuss the Rockets and their come from behind victory over the Jazz, they take callers’ fantasy football questions, and they talk about Kobe after his jersey retirement. To finish out the first hour, former Texans defensive lineman Travis Johnson joins the guys in studio and talks about Jimbo leaving his Florida State Seminoles for Aggieland.
