It is the last day of the year and many people are setting foals for 2019 and reflecting on the past year. As I was going through this process myself, I realized that I was "disappointed" in that I did not achieve several of the goals that I set for myself in 2018. Today, I am going to give you a quick primer into insulin resistance and what really causes it at the cellular level. I think that you are going to be surprised as to what the main cause really is.
Today on the show we are going to talk about an unnecessarily controversial topic: the calories in vs. calories out energy balance formula. I have read through hundreds of lab tests ordered by my clients doctors and if there is one thing I can rant about for days, it is the poor assessment of patients health status through strategic lab testing. Today, I am going to discuss Apolipoprotein B and insulin. These are two blood markers that can give us a deeper assessment into our health status, they are simple to measure and they are rarely ever tested. Tune in to the show to find out more about why these tests are important.
If you walk down the street and ask each person a simple question: Do You Even Lift? The answer you will get from an overwhelming number of people (who are being honest) is a definitive NO. NOT AT ALL. A new study that reported data collected from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) showed that 60% of Americans do 0 muscle strengthening exercises and only 20% do them at least 3 times per week.
