The Flash S6E7 The Last Temptation of Barry Allen Part 1 Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:56

Well...we spoke too soon last episode. This week The Flash made us care about Bloodwork. It's worth pointing out that Bloodwork is literally a throwaway villain from the recent comic run of Flash that was hardly memorable (The villain not the run...the run is great. Go read it). But this season the show has done a great job of not only building Ramsey up but having his motivate to cheat death tie so well into Barry's seeming acceptance of his. This episode shows us just how much doubt Barry still has and  We also need to point out that this year, the Arrowverse has done a fantastic job with Arrow and Flash leading into the crossover. This year the big crossover is completely integrated into the storylines for both shows and it's something that we obviously feel the weight of. It's not taking away from the stories of either shows but enhancing them. Barry's doubt and Bloodwork taking advantage of that is helping put Barry in the mindset he needs to be for Crisis. When the fact that Crisis is only 2 days away, it makes it more real and makes this crossover feel like it's part of the overall story and not crammed in.  This episode gave us the same vibe as The Runaway Dinosaur. It succeeds on multiple fronts (making us care about Bloodwork and getting us even more hype for Crisis). Only one more episode left until the biggest crossover ever. Listen as Kriss and Dpalm review season 8 episode 5 of Arrow, Prochnost. Oliver spends some quality time with his kids from the future (such a funny thing to say considering how season 1 was so "grounded") in Russia. What could go wrong?  Supergirl S5E6-S5E7 Review - Fortress of Stupidity | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:38

You would think after 5 seasons our heroes would be able to interpret context clues. You would be wrong. Every time Team Supergirl makes strides in their deductive reasoning, their hearts get in the way of common sense.  How did Supergirl's Spidey Sense (yes I know I'm mixing my fandoms, deal with it) not going off big time with all the snarkiness Lena was throwing her way?  How are psychic flashes of the magnitude J'onn experiencing not a sign that your brother is still on earth?  How did Alex call Supergirl, Supergirl never show up, and instead of going to look for her damn sister, she goes for canoodling time with Kelly (which I own was cute, but come on son!)?  How is Kelly going to ask a government field agent not to...you know...do her job because it's scary?  Girl get some counseling!  These two episodes did flush out Lena's motivation and gave us one of the best bars of this season: "I'm not a villain...you shouldn't have treated me like one."  The ending of the last episode?  Queue up Sound of Silence (Hello Darkness My Old Friend...).  Where is the Affleck/Cavil sad face GIF when you need it?   Like what you hear?  Watchmen Episodes 1 - 4 Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:25:28

Surprise! Ro and Kriss decided to review HBO's Watchmen. You're welcome. Let's just get this out of the way right now: HBO's Watchmen is proving how many Watchmen fanboys never actually comprehended what they were reading when Alan Moore and Dave Gibbson first released this comic. If you're feeling some kind of way over the racial and political themes on the show then you never really understood Watchmen to begin with.  The show is clearly slowly building towards something with multiple storylines having some overlap while appearing independent. We're not exactly sure how all the things are related but they clearly are. There is also some really great actresses and characters (we could watch Regina King and Jean Smart go back and forth for an entire episode). And the show is handling the balance of forging a new path while still paying homage and having connections to the original story.  We're doing these  in batches. So this first review is for the first 4 episodes. The next will cover episodes 5 & 6 and then we'll end with the final 3 episodes. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.     Like what you hear?  Supergirl S5E4 and S5E5 Review A Series of Poor Choices - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

Jimmy leaves on a note that leaves us satisfied in a way that is fitting for the character. Kelly's characterization is leaving a lot to be desired.  Lena leans full into her villainy, betraying the team and kidnapping Malefic, all under the misguided assumption that she's doing something for the greater good.  Nia works on her relationship with Brainy, and William Dey's real agenda is revealed.     Like what you hear?  Arrow S8E4 Past Tense Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 27:22

After the shocking end of last week's episode, Arrow S8E4 dumps us right back where we left off. Oliver and Diggle face-to-face with these kids from the future, Mia, William and Connor. This episode is packed full of little tidbits and when you tie it back to last season and all the questions we had, everything starts to come together. And welcome back Curtis. We missed you. Curtis comes back...with a beard. And we get Holt/Smoak 2.0 with him hacking right beside William. Like he never left.  Also we're even more convinced this is all part of The Monitor's plans. Because by the end, it seems like the future has to be different now and when the kids do go back, they'll be faced with a much different future than they left. Also, as we said last week. The Monitor has to know Oliver is trying to build a weapon to stop him but what if that's the point? Listen to our review and let us know what you think.  The Flash S6E5 Kiss Kiss Breach Breach Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 26:51

This week on The Flash we get the obligatory "Take Barry off the board for an entire episode" for S6E5 but this season it feels really natural. The writing this season has really trusted the other characters to come into their own. So having Barry off the board didn't take away from the episode at all. And unlike other times, they sent Barry and Iris on a much needed vacation which also showed the level of comfort Barry has in trusting his team to handle things. And handle things they did. Cisco was obviously the focus here and it was good to see him able to really come into his own. After 6 seasons, we as the audience already know how much Cisco can second guess himself and this episode really forced him to get over that and he stepped up. We also can't help but think about how awesome it is that the legendary Danny Trejo is on The Flash. We remember him from Desperado and here he is...still kinda sorta looking the same.  We round out everything with Wells and Joe trapped in tunnel together. And Wells admits that he has information that could...save Barry. Give us a listen and let us know what you think about The Flash S6E5. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S6E4 Review There Will Be Blood - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 24:47

The Flash S6E4 reminds us once again that out of all the Arrowverse shows, The Flash has the best acting. The touching scene with Grant Gustin and Jesse L Martin is a great moment to remind us that Black Fatherhood moments are still going strong on this show after 6 seasons and that these two have some of the best chemistry on TV. But not just them. This entire cast is working well together this season (and has been for a while now). This is a far cry from seasons 3 and 4 where it felt that the writing of the show wasn’t giving this strong cast the room to show just how much of a load they could carry. Ironically enough, with the theme of the opening of this season being Barry making preparations for the team to carry on after he’s gone, the show is giving the rest of the cast a chance to carry parts of the story without leaning so heavily on Gustin.    At the end of the day, The Flash (both TV and comics) is about family and this season has done a great job showing that. Each member of team Flash is taking the news that Barry has to die so billions can live different ways and they all feel genuine. Even Ralph, who is one of the newer members of the cast has his emotional reaction feel real. Barry is the whole reason Ralph has the life he has. One because Barry literally saved his life but also because Barry helped him get back in touch with being a real detective and helping people. Then when you take all of this and Barry’s acceptance of his fate and juxtapose that with Rosso and his refusal to accept he will die, we have a compelling story.   Also…once again, a Wells showing up is always connected to the larger plot. And Nash Wells is hunting the Monitor. What could go wrong? Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Arrow S8E3 Review Leap of Faith | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 25:18

Arrow continues its march to the series end with a trip around to some of the most important places with some of the most important people with Leap of Faith. This episode Oliver is back at Nanda Parbat and meets up with Thea and Talia to gain more information on The Monitor. In the future, Connor, Mia, Zoe & William try to take down and stop JJ and it ends up with fatal results. That is until they get transported to the past and end up in the bunker...with Oliver. This all leads to an important question: Was this all part of a plan of Mar Novu/The Monitor? He's a cosmic being and while Oliver's whole reason for going to Nanda Parbat was to dig up information on him, wouldn't Mar Novu know this? So far, every episode, he's being sending Oliver to different places to gather different things for him. In this episode, where he doesn't show up, it's easy to think this was a break from that. But a closer look we see that by the end of this episode, three things of significance happen: * Thea basically wins the title of leader of what's remaining of the League of Assassins & then partners with Talia to form a "League of Heroes" * Lyla and Diggle save a young Connor and Sandra Hawke, paving way for Connor eventually being raised by Diggle & Lyla * Mia, Willam and Connor from the future are transported back in time (oddly enough the same way the Monitor movies through time and worlds) and end up in the bunker with their father(s) and Team Arrow In the end, this all seems like manipulations by Novu and that Oliver, while thinking he was doing something of his own free will, was actually unwittingly doing his bidding. And...it also continues the smoke screen of making his dealings seem shady when they're all part of a larger plan. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Arrow S8E2 Welcome to Hong Kong Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:31

It's been 8 seasons of Arrow and it's crazy to think about it, but China White has been a constant in the series. She first appeared in episode 2 of the series and here we are in season 8 and she pops back up. If this season of 8 is just taking us on a tour of previous locations and giving us a chance to see actors/characters that have been here since the beginning, we're here for it.  Also the show confirms that Earth-2 was the Earth destroyed last week. So we're really erasing Earths out here. Which leads to an interesting question: Will Crisis end up with all of these shows finally end up in the same World? We'll see.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. If you want to send in your own questions and thoughts, email us: Mailbag@MTRNetwork.Net   Like what you hear?  The Flash S6E3 Dead Man Running Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 27:36

Another week of the Flash and this time we’re getting blood zombies…because weird. Also, the legend of the Book of Ralph continues with a new addendum. It's too late to hop on the Ralph Hive train. It's been fun watching the characters on this show come into their own. Obviously Ralph is a great example of that but so have all the other characters.  We like what they're doing with Dr. Rosso/Bloodwork so far. And we have our first Wells appearance of the season. But what is he after?  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. If you want to send in your own questions and thoughts, email us: Mailbag@MTRNetwork.Net   Like what you hear?  Supergirl S5E3 Review – A Crew of Cretins | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 45:15

Man Blurred Lines indeed.  Everyone behaved like some big dummies in this episode.   Kara mistinterprets Jimmy's advice about friendship.  J'onn erases a whole ass person from everyone's memory, including his own.  Kelly stays in everyone's business and it almost gets her killed.  William Day is being super shady and we don't know what his endgame is.  Finally, Lena...baby what is you doing?  We also chat about the sale of Rise of the Skywalker tickets.      Like what you hear?  Arrow S8E1 Starling City Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 30:09

With all the great things that happened in Arrow S8E1 Starling City, it says something to me that one of the most satisfying things was watching Oliver put a knee to the face of Earth-2 Rene. Look, Rene is STILL a snitch and deserves beatdowns from Ollie any time there's an opportunity. Sorry not sorry. Anyway, the final season of Arrow takes us all the way back to the beginning....sorta. We have more information on what Oliver is doing for The Monitor to prepare for the upcoming Crisis. We also get to witness first hand an Earth being erased. As we said on The Flash review, Crisis is inevitable.  Please get Diggle a Power Ring and stop making him strap on this ridiculous helmetPhoto Credit: CW Some things that stood out this episode: It was great to see Moira again. Susanna Thompson has been missed. Also missed has been the chemistry she has with Stephen Amell. Say what you want about Amell's acting chops, his scenes with Thompson are always fantastic and seeing them reunited this episode (even briefly) was wonderful Batman is clearly coming. Obviously we have the Batwoman TV show but there's been too many mentions of Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight in the Arrowverse prior to that to ignore. And we get a direct mention of Bruce Wayne this episode Adrian Chase as the Hood with Laurel training him. I love that no matter the Earth, Adrian and Oliver just don't like each other, even if they're on the same side. Also, it's nice to see Laurel stepping up and being the hero Oliver knew she could be.  Speaking of Laurel and heroes, the future plot line is super interesting and is shaping up to be a great backdoor pilot for Canaries. With Laurel's Earth now seemingly destroyed, it makes sense she would come back and help form the Canaries to carry on the task of heroes Oliver and Diggle. Brothers to the end. Also, give Diggle a Power Ring. Watching him strap on that bicycle helmet made it look even more ridiculous Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.
