 DC Shakeup - Mailbag #29 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 57:03

Sorry for the delay. We actually did record this in February but life got in the way of getting it actually released. Anyway, we're back with a short mailbag this time. It was kinda a quiet month. At least until Bog Iger announces he's out as Disney CEO in 2021 and Dan DiDio was suddenly removed as co-publisher of DC Comics. Topics: * The Streaming Service Star Trek Built * The Streaming Wars * Feige Almost Quit * Bob Iger Out in 2021 as CEO of Disney * Changes coming to DC Comics * Dan DiDio suddenly out as co-publisher * State of DC Movies * What's Working, What's Not and What we Would Like to See Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Legends of Tomorrow S5E6 Mortal Khanbat - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 23:44

Seriously what are we supposed to do with this show? It's almost pointless to review, not because it's bad but because it's so good and fun. This Caity Lotz directed episode was not only fun and silly (It's basically a John Woo tribute) but in typical Legends fashion, we've reached that part of the season where the real end game gets revealed. And as usual, it's not something we really saw coming. That's why we love this show so much. It can do silly things like put Genghis Khan on a scooter while also revealing that Charlie is one of the Three Fates. Add into the reveal of how Crisis has led to this new problem for the Legends and what's not to love about this show? Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S6E13 Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 38:07

Since Crisis, The Flash has been so good. I mean it was good before but not it's been really good. We're really seeing how the fallout from Crisis is playing in this new world and how it's affecting Barry. It's allowing the writers and show to almost do a soft reboot. Characters that used to be friends are now enemies, enemies are now friends (maybe). We the audience get to go on the same journey that Barry is going on as he rediscovers his own city and the fallout.  The other thing that's been really fun to watch is how the show is weaving in elements from the current Flash Rebirth run. As fans of that run, we get a bit nervous seeing how much Gorilla Grodd enjoyed the power of having the speed force running through him. Sure, he might be "reformed" now but you'll have to excuse us if we're not a bit skeptical. And finally, is there a better feeling than hearing Thawne's theme kick in? Dawg we can't wait for Thawne to show up.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl Season 5 Episode 13 Review – MyxzFlix | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 36:30

Mr. Mxyzptlk is back-although not as we remember him!  Tom Lennon in the role addresses the elephant in the room and takes Kara on a It's a Wonderful Life type adventure aimed to help her resolve her guilt about the loss of her relationship with Lena.  We love that the resolution came with Kara letting go of her guilt and reading Lena for filth.  We love Lena but this was a long time coming.  We also appreciate all the call back guest spots from Sam Witwer, Chris Wood, Chad Lowe, and Odette Annabelle in their former roles.  Finally, we appreciate that Mxyzptlk wasn't there with a bait and switch or to be evil-he genuinely wanted to help Kara.  Here's hoping we see him again.    Like what you hear?  Legends of Tomorrow S5E5 The Sins of John Constantine | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 21:59

If there's one thing that is a fundamental truth its that John Constantine always brings pain and suffering everywhere he goes. Underneath all the silliness and ridiculousness, Legends still hits with some really hard and serious stuff. Getting more back ground on John, Astra and Natalie reveals just how many sins John really has. And moreso, how those sins have fucked everything up. It will be interesting seeing how this all plays out. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S6E12 Review Kung Fu Grip Sue | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 26:47

Ralph finally catches up to Sue Dearbon and she proves to be more than he can handle. We're really enjoying how this season is unfolding with bringing multiple storylines together. It's clear that everything leads back to Black Hole. There's several things we see coming: * Sue clearly has a history with Black Hole, McCulloch and Ultraviolet * Eva is not only crazy but is going to be a real problem as Mirror Master * Joe noticing that someone at CCPD is covering up crimes related to Black Hole * Something is up with Barry's powers. There have been some small things happening each episode since Crisis.  We also have a few theories (Lisa Snart as Captain Cold, Mirror Iris as Plunder and more). So give us a listen as we go over this episode. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl Season 5 Episode 12 - Smart People, Dumb Decisions | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 35:19

We wrap up Jeremy Jordan's guest return with the resolution of his relationship with his father.  Lena and Lex are making moves on Obsidian, while Leviathan thinks they are making moves on the Luthors.  However, we all know that Lex is the ultimate chessmaster and is probably twelve moves ahead of them-Leviathan is already in checkmate. Alex quits the DEO, Brainy continues to play both sides, and Kara curves William to the heartbreak of The Doctor-can't we just let my girl be happy in love?   Like what you hear?  Legends of Tomorrow S5E4 Review The Legends Go To Prom | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 17:57

The Legends go to prom...in two different timelines. What could go wrong? Seriously at this point there's no need to even review the show. We just sit back and enjoy the ridiculousness with a side of serious when it counts. The only issue we really have is that there was a real missed opportunity to have a young Mick Rory and a young Leonard Snart show up at the 89 prom. Come on guys...how did we let that one slip through the cracks? Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S6E11 Review Respect the Onesie | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 28:12

Now normally we don't care much for "themed" episodes that line up with holidays but we really did enjoy this episode of The Flash (Love is a Battlefield). First off, Candice Patton was great. After Iris got pulled into the mirror at the end of last episode, we were expecting a "Mirror" version of Iris. But instead of just making this evil-Iris, we got more subtle behavior changes (aside from her all the sudden knowing how to cook). Every one of the things Iris does this episode that could tip Barry off that something was wrong could easily be explained with a legit reason. It was a great way to show that Iris has grown and that Barry needs to realize that his wife isn't some damsel in distress and more than capable of taking care of herself (Of course...that's ignoring that she got herself in trouble and the real her is now trapped in a mirror but anyway...) We also talk about how great Amunet is and how we want her to lead the rogues and we have a couple of theories on why Nash saw another Wells briefly.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. The Disco Crew coming at you with a review of Season 2 Star Trek Short Treks and Season One Star Trek: Picard EP 1-2.  The Flash S6E10 Marathon | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 31:18

The Flash is back and there's two words we have for this new Post Crisis World: Female Rogues.  Yes Bring them on. Took us a minute to realize where they were going but as soon as we saw the name 'Eva McCulloch' we knew "Mirror Master". We're really about to get the rogues finally on The Flash and they're gonna be all women: * Weather Witch * Mirror Master * Golden Glider * Top * Black Smith and throw in Doctor Light and we got a pretty good Rogues squad. And we're here for it. But not only that. The Flash has really been pulling from the latest Rebirth run from the comics. First there was Godspeed. Then Bloodwork. And now the secret organization that's been operating in the shadows is revealed as Blackhole. Add in a throwaway mention of Gorilla City and now we have to remind everyone that the true leader of Blackhole in the comics was none other than Joe West's favorite murderous gorilla: Gorilla Grodd. Cause us intrigued as to where the show goes with this.  There's a lot to love this episode with the first Flash episode since Crisis. We've essentially been given a redo where now everything is back on the table and we can't wait to see what they have for us coming up. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Legends of Tomorrow S5E3 Miss Me Kiss Me Love Me | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 23:38

The Band is Back Together! (Sorta) Zari has returned to the WaveRider...just not the Zari we know. Gotta say this show really knows how to mix the fun and ridiculous with the serious. Sure, watching Ava get drunk and try to sing and do it so badly she cleared out the club is hilarious. But it also was the very real result of her not knowing where her place is now that she's no longer running the Time Bureau. Also this is the first time in a while when it's not the Legends' fault everything has gone to Hell (or rather, Hell has come to earth). Instead it's another reminder of how Constantine has a really poor record of saving people. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Expanse S4 Episodes 7 - 10 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:20:27

First off, we apologize for the delay. We had a lot going on the last couple of months and we just couldn't get us all together to discuss the final 4 episodes of The Expanse Season 4. But much like the wait for Season 4, our review was worth it. For this episode we're joined by Rod from The Black Guy Who Tips and we talk about everything that goes down these last 4 episodes. And man is there a lot to talk about. * For once Holden isn't a complete idiot here and actually pulls everything together pretty well. Of course this is after finding out that Miller wasn't exactly Miller...until he was. Confused? Yes but it actually all ends up making sense * Amos is about that life. Chandra finds that out the hard way (Amos warned her). Murty THOUGHT he was about that life too until he sadly realizes too late that Amos is a completely different animal. We love Amos * We had a strong feeling Avasarala wasn't going to win this election but knowing what Marco is planning (or what he's done), Earth is in for a rude awakening without the woman who has been keeping them safe. And Bobbie does have terrible timing. * Ashford goes out like a champ. The Expanse is so good because of the political dynamics they've set up. Ashford starts off as a terrorist that you want nothing to deal with and in the end he's the man preaching that violence isn't the answer. It's sad to see him go but we're now excited to see how Drummer handles his death. Also, Naomi's son Felipe might just be a lost cause.  There's so much to discuss and love about season 4 of The Expanse. So strap in and give this episode a listen.   fLike what you hear?  Supergirl S5E10 & 11 Review – Post Crisis Glow Up - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 46:41

Image courtesy of the CW We were concerned prior to the Crisis event that the lead up lacked a link but, as one of our listeners pointed out, Supergirl decided to hold back to good stuff until after the cross over had concluded.  The fall out is massive, and the links are loud and clear.  We see Brainy unleashed, providing Jesse Rath with some amazing material to show off his acting range.   We get a sibling team up in Megan and Jesse Rath, last seen on screen by us in the U.S. version of Being Human.  J'onn creates an amazing superhero friend clubhouse (which leads us to wonder-what has Barry been doing with all that Harrison Wells cash on The Flash?).  Finally Winn returns, and Lex and Lena move forward with their separate agendas.  The show will be on break until February 17th when Supergirl returns!   Like what you hear?
