Arrow S7E21 Living Proof Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:33

One more episode left of Arrow this season and it's not going to end well for Team Arrow. We really think Emiko is going to end up succeeding (at least partially). Star City is going to suffer a terrorist attack. The Glades will be spared. Team Arrow will be blamed. And Rene will do whatever he can to save his own skin and snitch on the team. Once a snitch, always a snitch.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Cloak & Dagger S2E3-E6 Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:27:29

I say this with all due respect, we CANNOT watch this many episodes of Cloak & Dagger in a row again. Not because the show isn't amazing (it is) and not because the show drags (it doesn't); it's because Marvel's Cloak & Dagger has some of the most realistic portrayals of trauma and abuse that we've ever seen masked in a superhero show.  First off, the show is best taken in two episode chunks. Coming off of the two-hour finale, the next two hours, Shadow Selves and Rabbit Hold, are mainly focused on Mayhem and the time between seasons one and two. Mayhem did not recently split from Brigid as we guessed, she's been split for the past eight months. Mayhem holds all of Brigid's anger and ambition as well as her memories up to the split so she's out to find Connors and get revenge for what he did to her and Fuchs. Unfortunately, Connors is currently residing in some dark world that Ty sucked him into. Because she can't find him, Mayhem shifts her focus to finding the missing girls which is where we pick up her story in the present day. She's trying to convince Tandy that they can be partners and Tandy is not too hard to convince since she's been playing the avenging angel role herself. All of this puts Brigid in an awkward place. She's lost her aggression and her drive for justice. She can't even shoot a gun anymore. We're not sure what the show is trying to say about how Brigid's aggression connects to her ability to get her job done but this meek Brigid is not going to cut it and Mina's experiments on river-dipped rats shows that the meek ones don't survive the aggression of their counterparts.  In the next two episodes, Alignment Chart and B Sides, the focus shifts to Tandy. She and Ty find the missing girls but they are unsure who's taken them. And after Tandy discovers that Ty can absorb people into a dark dimension, she goes in after Connors and Mayhem to see what she can find. What she discovers is a lot of crazy metaphors that amount to, Tandy it's time to deal with your shit. In a "record store", she finds records that represent the missing girls. All of them, like Tandy, have experienced trauma and each record represents their despair. When Tandy digs through the crates of her own past, she finds some pretty heartbreaking moments (and some really great music). And the person cataloging all this despair is none other than Andre, with an assist from Lia. Andre also gained powers in the Roxxon explosion. He feeds off of despair and has been selecting girls to drain of hope. He becomes a perfect foil for Tandy whose power is fueled by hope. In order to destroy her hope, Andre takes Tandy through a bunch of alternate scenarios of her life. One where Billy and her father never died but she and Ty remained friends. Another where she's an engineer and she and Ty meet at the rig. Yet another where she's a grifter and a junkie and she meets Ty while he's boosting cars. In every scenario, Ty is her constant and once Andre realizes that, he kills Ty, essentially killing the source of Tandy's hope. We end this block of episodes with a hopeless Tandy being taken to a motel where she'll presumably be trafficked.  Whew. Is everyone okay? We discuss all the in's and out's of these episodes and try not to fall into despair. Everything is fine. Everything is awesome awful.  Don't forget to follow our Spotify playlist of songs from the show!    Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode!

 Avengers Endgame - Mailbag #20 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 59:59

It is NOT the end of the month so it's NOT time for another Mailbag episode but we're doing one anyway. We promised we'd do a special Endgame mailbag a couple weeks after the movie came out and here we are making good on that promise. Kriss and Dpalm are joined by Jeff from ForAllNerds. We go through listener emails about Endgame as well as discuss that new Spider-Man Far From Home trailer and what it could mean in a post-Endgame MCU.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S5E21 The Girl With the Red Lightning Review - We Told You So | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 26:50

Oh what's that? This whole thing has been a plan by Thawne? No way. Who would have thunk it? We did. We thunk it. And Ralph. They really really should have listened to Ralph this episode. There's one episode left in this season and not only do we have no idea how it's going to turn out but we're totally invested in it (something that hasn't happened the last few seasons).  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Legends of Tomorrow S4E14 Nip/Stuck Review Nipnotized - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 22:13

Gary uses his demonic nipple to hypnotize...I mean nipnotize the Time Bureau, the Wave Rider and crew get stuck under a ton of ice & snow and drink and play a card game to get out and John leaps into hell to try to rescue Ray. Yup. Just your typical episode of Legends.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl S4E19 and S4E20 Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 32:09

We are back with two episodes this week following our Avengers Endgame and Game of Thrones sorrow fests. For the last two weeks Kara has been on her reporter grind trying to figure out a way to bring down Lex, when she finally comes to the conclusion that her best play is to 1) humanize the aliens who are doing good work in National City and 2) visit her forgotten friend Lena and work together with her to track Lex.  This provides results, but Kara also forgets the first rule of exposing something-making multiple copies and telling EVERYONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING!!!  We also see Lena stabilize the Harrenel in James' system, which aids in a magnificent display of powers very similar o the ones of he Kryptonians, as well as Ben Lockwood making a dumb ass decision to inject himself with the pure form of the stuff after an alien he provokes kills his wife.  The only down side of this batch of episodes was the narrative the show was attempting to spin via Ben Lockwood's son.  The idea that only once a bigot realizes the hate affects someone they know will they change is a trope that is tired and patently proven false in real life.     Like what you hear?  The Flash S5E20 Gone Rogue Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 20:39

Umm...we do know that Eobard Thawne is evil right? What are we doing here? Kriss has a theory on what Thawne's plan actually is and it makes sense as to what his end goal is. Why does he want to help Nora help Barry stop Cicada? How did Grace get back to their time? How did Grace know about the Metahuman cure? Is this really all about Thawne manipulating the West-Allens so that the metahuman cure is destroyed and he gets his powers back? Something is up and Iris isn't taking the threat of Thawne serious enough and now she's dragged Barry into it. Two episodes left and this isn't going to end well (for the West-Allens).  Legends of Tomorrow S4E13 Egg MacGuffin Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 22:55

Seriously what's the point of us even reviewing this show anymore? It just turns into us stating our disbelief at how they were able to get away with all the silly things they've done and still make a great episode. They turned a throw away line about Mick being a writer into a multi-season, multi-episode growth arc that ends with him coming out as Rebecca Silver at a romance novel convention. This show has even been able to finally nail down a romantic arc for Nate that doesn't feel forced or rushed and actually work. And Sara joining a book club and actually reading the book and inching towards a normal life? Who would have thunk it. All while still having a pretty serious turn of events with Ray giving himself over to Neuron willingly to save Nate's life. Now we have to worry about the team potentially banishing Ray to hell. They even managed turn Gary from a punchline into a tragic character ripe for the pickings of a demon. This show is incredible. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Arrow S7E20 Confessions Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 28:32

It was great to see Roy back on Arrow with Season 7 Episode 20, Confessions. He even has some "Very Necessary Roy Flips". But then things get real dark. These season is about to end in a really fucked up way. The team has crossed the line (rightfully so) to protect Roy but that also falls right into Emiko's plan. We now have the groundwork laid for how vigilantes and team Arrow get the public to turn against them in the future we saw. Everything is coming together and what's emerging is something very dark for team Arrow. No matter what happens: Emiko Won. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  You're All Going to Jail - Mailbag #19 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:28:32

It's the end of April and before the biggest movie of all time (ok...so technically this was released after Endgame but we recorded it before so stick with us) and so it's time for another Mailbag episode. We switched things up this month and instead of reading articles we focused mostly on listener emails (because we got a lot and a wide variety). We're going to do a special Endgame mailbag in a couple of weeks so if you want to discuss some Endgame topics, email us.  Topics: * Emails * Should Marvel bring back One-Shots on Disney+? * Getting into Transformers IDW Comics * DC Universe finally gets the full DC comics catalog * New Star Wars Trailer and a KOTOR movie * The Super Sons show that never happened * The Boys? What's that?  * Crisis on Infinite Podcast? We're taking that * Topic of the Show: * Dark and Gritty isn't what ppl think.  * Pull-List  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Legends of Tomorrow S4E11 The Eggplant, The Witch & The Wardrobe Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 22:05

Damn it Ray. Always trying to be the hero and rescue someone who doesn't need rescuing and now he's possessed by a demon. Smh.  Once again Legends does a great job of balancing tone in an episode. What starts off as some character development for Ava morphs into development for Sara and forcing her to think about her future and what she really wants. I mean, putting together furniture from IKEA with your significant other can be a very big test of your relationship.  This show continues to be great.  Arrow S7E19 Spartan Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 18:20

Ernie Hudson playing the step father of John Diggle? A step father whose last name is "Stewart"? Enough playing with our emotions Arrow, give John his things. And by "things" we mean that Green Lantern power ring. I don't care if it's a John from another earth or not. But sometime between now and that crossover we need to see David Ramsey with that ring damn it.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  The Flash S5E18 Snow Pack Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 27:59

Fine. Since no one else will do it, Kriss will be the bad guy here: Iris is wrong as hell this episode. Eobard Thawne is the master manipulator that has been one step ahead of Team Flash since the beginning. The fact that he's gotten to Nora should have Iris way more worried than she is. And telling Barry that it doesn't bother her as much, even though Thawne killed Barry's mom (In front of no less than 3 versions of himself)...oh man...Barry is a better person than all of us.  But all seriousness, the argument/discussion between Iris and Barry at the beginning of this episode is so good. There are legit points on both sides and both are making decisions based on emotions. But that's why Grant Gustin and Candice Patton work so well together a Barry and Iris because they sells us the audience on it so well. Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl S4E18 Review Guns and Ships - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 44:05

This week Kara learns that sometimes the cape can't get the job done.  She's spent the last few seasons using her Supergirl persona to gain access and earn respect.  In visiting Lex's prison, she learns she can get much farther using her abilities and the earned respect she's garnered as a rising reporter to get information and work to bring Lex down.  We continue to see Ben Lockwood be...well...Ben Lockwood, and Haley is finally given a moment that brings out the empathy in The Doctor and reduces her desire to see Haley dead by maybe...5%?  James continues to work through his PTSD and discovers that something else may be going on with the symptoms he's having.  It was nice to see James using techniques therapists actually use with real patients in dealing with trauma, and allowing him to feel the full emotion of being shot instead of brushing it off the way most television shows do.  We also discuss the future direction for the story arcs and Shanna refuses to edit out a very tone deaf rendition of the Highlander song...sorry in advance!   Like what you hear?  Arrow S7E18 Review Lost Canary - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 19:13

Kriss and Dpalm are back to review the latest episode of Arrow season 7,  Lost Canary. This was a simple episode that while it didn't move the main plot forward much, gave us an episode with all the ladies that have played the Black Canary in one episode together. It was good to see Sara back on the show for a bit. And we like the idea of the Canaries being a sisterhood that lasts even to the future. It was worth the break from the main story and plot.
