The Flash S5E18 Godspeed Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:30

The Flash is back and we finally get to see how Thawne got to manipulating Nora. It also raises some interesting questions. After the Flash disappeared, there weren't any other speedster Metas. Is that why Iris dampened Nora's powers? Did she not want whatever happened to the other speedsters (including Barry) to happen to Nora? Also...what is Thawne's plan? We know Barry is celebrating a little too early and Thawne is going to get free, but how? This was a solid return episode and it had a lot of throwbacks to Season 1 and how Barry got his powers (we just got to watch them happen to Nora).  Legends of Tomorrow S4E11 Review Séance and Sensibility - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 22:51

Seriously, why do we even bother reviewing this show at this point? We came into this episode thinking it would be a bit more sober because of the death of Hank but instead we get a sex god, a Bollywood musical number and the reveal that Hank's big secret is that he was creating a Disney World-like amusement park with the magical creatures. This show is ridiculous. This show is absurd. This show is so much fun. And if you don't like it...something is seriously wrong with you.  Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Cloak & Dagger S2E1-E2 Review Split Up - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:09:23

This week, Shanna, The Doctor, and Parrish are back to discuss Marvel's Cloak & Dagger on Freeform. In the two-hour premiere, Ty and Tandy may have switched lifestyles but the dysfunction remains. Ty (Aubrey Joseph) is living in the church while Tandy (Olivia Holt)  is back at home with her mom and attending group therapy for domestic violence survivors. Unfortunately, neither one of them is adjusting well. Ty is secretly spying on his family and Evita and Tandy is taking revenge on the abusers of the women in her therapy group. And behind the scenes, Detective Brigid O'Reilly (Emma Lahana)  is seemingly having a breakdown after being infected by Roxxon chemicals. She's strung out on pills and barely keeping a hold on her sanity. We also meet three new characters, Lia and Andre (Dilshad Vadsaria and Brooklyn McLinn), counselors at Tandy's group who may know more than they're saying about missing girls in the neighborhood. And Mikayla, one of the DV survivors who is having a hard time getting out of her relationship.  We discuss Ty and Tandy's chemistry (is it romance or friendship?), the layered storytelling and symbolism and most important, MAYHEM! in this supersized episode. Trigger warning: This episode discusses domestic violence.      Like what you hear?  Legends of Tomorrow S4E9 & S4E10 Review We Back - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 27:50

Lucha libre, Hawaiian werewolves, tricky Dick and truth roaches...oh yes folks...WE BACK...the Legends are back. We really didn't realize how much we missed Legends of Tomorrow until it came back the last two episodes (Lucha de Apuestas & The Getaway). I mean how can you not love this show? Out of all the Arrowverse shows this is the one that asks the most of it's cast. These episodes jump between being silly and ridiculous and being serious and moving constantly without feeling out of place. What other show can give us the sad breakup of Ava and Sara and the tragedy of Mona while also giving us Lucha libre wrestling and a RV roadtrip with President Nixon, the Legends and a cockroach that forces people to tell the truth. Come on.  How can you not love this show? Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl 4x17 Review Public Enemy No. 1 - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 33:04

*insert Don LaFontaine's voice here* In a world where Lex Luthor is free, no one is safe from his villainy and cunning.  Kara is framed for attempted murder and destruction of federal property via the use of Red Daughter.  James' mind is blown when it is revealed to him that Lex had a hand in his shooting.  Lena learns to extent of Eve Tessmacher's machinations under Lex's direction.   Lillian learns her son was about to commit matricide.  J'onn...J'onn... Okay uncue Don's voice here because technically what's going on with J'onn has nothing to do with Lex, but it does bring back our favorite Carl Lumbly as Pappa J'onnz to tell his son to stop being a dumbass and so literal.  Star Trek Discovery Season 2 Review DEFCON Level Fun - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:03:03

We're back with another fun discussion about the last 3 episodes of Star Trek Discovery Season 2 (Project Daedalus, The Red Angel and Perpetual Infinity). A lot happens in these three episodes and we have fun discussing. What do we start with first? Finding out that Control (the Federations threat assessment A.I.) is the big bad from the future? Nope. That Commander Burnham's mother is the Red Angel and has been trying to stop the destruction of all life? Nope. How about all the twists and turns with Section 31? NOPE. We (and by 'we' we mean Kriss) decides to start with what kind of 'DEFCON Level fun' did Emperor Georgiou have with Mirror Universe Stamets and Dr. Hugh 'Papi' Culber.  Kriss must be stopped.   Like what you hear?  Arrow Season 7 Episode 17 Inheritance - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 44:10

Sorry for the delay folks but we're back to review the latest episode of Arrow. Ummm...Emiko is evil as shit. There's really no coming back from what she's been doing as the leader of the 9th Circle (shout out to this season really pulling from the Rebirth Green Lantern run). This episode does a good job of showing the how and why of Emiko while also making us understand why Oliver feels like he can save her (even though we know it's not going to work). Also Archer is going to be a really big problem and gets scarier the more we think about it. We also talk about our Pull-Lists of the month of March because we didn't get to it on the mailbag.  Let It Go - Mailbag #18 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:47:21

It's the end of the month and normally we kick off the Mailbag episode with jumping right into listener emails and then news topics. But not this show. See...Snyder Cut stans just couldn't leave Kriss alone. And 60 minutes before the show...they started to fuck with him and now this show is the result. Zack Snyder says the cut "exists" and is in his house and he only needs "a little bit more CG" to have it completed. None of that makes any sense. But even if it did, with all the talking he's done on about what his original plan was and then his misunderstanding of the characters, it would still suck (Much like the BvS Ultimate addition still sucks). This should have been a happy joyous mailbag. The Disney-Fox deal is done. James Gunn is directing The Suicide Squad AND Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Shazam is REALLY GOOD. And even DC Universe is getting better (this was recorded before the announcement that all their backlog is coming to DCU). But Snyder-Stans really know how to suck the joy out the room. Topics: * Emails * Could Quicksilver come back to the MCU? * Are there any new comic book shows we're thinking about checking out? * After Shazam is DC finally learning the right lessons? * Hickman on X-Men? Directly into our veins * Are we reading Bitter Root? * What Star Trek shows are the best to start with? * News * Legends of Tomorrow is Back * Arrow Showrunner Beth Schwartz gets an overall WB TV deal * Ezra Miller is writing the Flash script now...with Grant Morrison * New Mutants reshoots never happened * Fox exec says Disney deal is hurting Dark Phoenix * Topic of the Show: * The deal is done: The X-Men & Fantastic Four are finally home * Pull-List (No pull-list this week cause we ran WAY over. We will discuss what we read in March after the Arrow review this week) Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month.  Supergirl 4x16 Review Alex is the New Martha | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 44:24

Yeah...we went there.  The TV DC universe did the ironic idea of two opposing characters having a shared name in common SO much better than the movie studio with the millions of dollars in their budget.   This week in a bottle episode, we see how Lex has been a part of the entire Supergirl Universe since their days on CBS.  We see the trial that led to Lex's incarceration, along with his introduction to Otis and Ms. Tessmacher, and the absolute extent of his rich man privilege with his ability to come and go from the prison at will.  We also see what has been going on with Red Kara, the result of the Harrenal split from the end of last season.  Seeing Melissa Benoist embody two different individuals so uniquely is a testament to her acting abilities and reinvigorates my fury at their attempt to really dumb down the show in season 1.  We are on hiatus until the end of April, but this episode was a great send off.   Like what you hear?  The Passage Season 1 Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:06:37

We promised and we delivered! The Doctor and Shanna along with MTR contributor Ro are here to (finally) review season one of The Passage based on the Justin Cronin novel of the same name. Season one follows Amy, a young orphaned girl, and Agent Brad Wolgast, who was hired to funnel death row inmates into a top security government project that is essentially creating vampires in order to develop a miracle curative. Once Agent Wolgast is asked to bring Amy in as a test subject, he breaks ranks to save her. The first season only covers about a third of Cronin's novel and season two of the show is predicted to flash forward about 90 years into the future after humans have bombed the United States into a nuclear wasteland in order to deal with the viral threat. This fast-paced, well-crafted season was a thrill ride from beginning to end and we're excited to breakdown the details in this overview.

Black Lightning 4x14-4x16 Review - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 42:16

Black Lightning: Book of the Apocalypse: Alpha and Omega We're back (well some of us) for the final episodes of Black Lightning and boy is it a doozy. In the final three episodes, they resurrect just as many characters including Lala, who is apparently immortal because Lazarus (played by the inimitable Michael Wright) brought him back from the dead twice. Also back from the dead are Reverend Holt, who doesn't know what a podcast is because he's using it to call people to the church during a riot and Khalil, who Agent Odell has been keeping in a pod along with Wendy and Issa. If all that isn't crazy enough for you, the teleporting meta we met about 5 episodes ago, returns looking for Dr. Jace. Apparently, he's a Markovian mercenary sent to retrieve her because the Markovians have an army of metas in pods they want to launch. And Tobias, who has been building his own metahuman army all season, abandons that plan in a fit of rage so he can terrorize Black Lightning. His plan immediately backfires when the disoriented pod kids just wander off into the streets of Freeland without attacking. So if you're thinking, did ANY of plot we were building this season matter? The answer is no. We've had sixteen episodes just to end up with Jennifer in a suit. Tobias turned out to be a straw man and now the Markovians are the big bad for season 3 even though the show has done little to nothing to introduce them as a credible threat. Black Lightning may not be a lost cause but if we're going to enjoy this show, we're going to have to turn our brain off. We'll see if things change next fall but for right now, it's a wrap for the Pierces.   Like what you hear?  The Flash Season 5 Episode 17 Review Time Bomb | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 32:45

The Flash has done a great job this season fixing a lot of the issues we've had with previous seasons. Even down to timing episodes right so they fit with breaks. Nora having to reveal that....scratch that...Sherlocke revealing that Nora has been working with Thawne and Barry putting her in the Pipeline is the perfect way to go into a break. Add in the way they keep evolving the threat of Cicada and they're hitting on all cylinders. Grace Cicada is frighteningly powerful and seemingly doesn't have the weaknesses of her uncle.  https://oembed.libsyn.com/embed?item_id=9088598 Tickets are now on sale for our Avengers: Endgame private screenings in L.A. and D.C.  Arrow Season 7 Episodes 15 & 16 A Snitch In Any Timeline | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 29:02

We had to double up on Arrow episodes this week. First in Training Day, the SCPD (out of all the incompetent fictional police departments) has the audacity to try to get Oliver and the team to follow their procedures. It goes about as well as you'd expect. Then in Star City 2040, Mia Smoak wants all the smoke. Plus, Rene of the future snitches at least 2 times this episode. It's in his DNA.  Also, we're quickly approaching the end of the season and this can't end well. Something terrible has to happen for everyone to split so drastically.  https://oembed.libsyn.com/embed?item_id=9088586 Tickets are now on sale for our Avengers: Endgame private screenings in L.A. and D.C.  Supergirl 4x15 Review Whoa Brother! | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 44:05

Listen to me now, believe me later!  WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!?  I TOLD Y'ALL IT WAS EVE! And now we know it was under the direction of Lex, who has now pulled together his iconic Tessmacher/Otis sidekick lineup.  My ship has sailed with a long awaited kiss between Nia and Brainy (She don't have to know Brainy, lean into it!), and J'onn finally goes off the deep end as Manchester wanted, causing him to fall deeper into a conflict of crisis.  Lena perfects the Haranel (forgive my spelling) only to be double crossed by her brother (girl DUH!), and Lex finally meets Supergirl face to face.  The show slowed down for more character development and introduction, and seems to have perfected the ability to do so without feeling like it has slowed down.   Like what you hear?  The Gifted Season 2 Review Caitlin 'John Wick' Strucker | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 56:24

It's finally here. Our discussion for the final three episodes of The Gifted season 2. We talk about how the season wrapped up, how the uncertainty of a season 3 might have changed some of the final story points and why we hope there is a season 3. While Reeva didn't get the full development we want, it feels as if the rest of the main cast did. Reed and his sacrifice really worked for us as a complete arc. Also...when you're the only member of your family without super powers, packing heat is a necessity as Caitlin proves.  Listen and let us know what you thought about season 2 and if you would like to see a season 3.    Like what you hear?
