Softy and Dick H2 - Croatia defeats England / Petros Papadakis returns / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2371

The World Cup's final match is set is Croatia defeats England 2-1. It was a great match, but again, it's just hard to move past the flopping. After a two week absence, Petros Papadakis is back on the show, talking about LeBron James' arrival as a Laker, the pizza panic LeBron caused, and a prediction on the Washington vs. Auburn game. Textimonials have a lot to say about the bathroom topic from the first hour.

Softy and Dick H3 - Sink, swim, or same / Hey, Did You Hear That? / Wade LeBlanc talks M's pitching / You Don't Know Dick | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2986

The debate over the Seahawks in 2018 continues. How do you think the team will play this season? Softy asked Twitter; sink, swim, or same? The results were nearly split down the midle. One big question mark is the running game. Clips from Adam Silver's State of the League, a historic moment from Bo Jackson, Croatia taking the lead against England, and more on Hey, Did You Hear That? M's starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc talks about his new deal with the team, his transition from a reliever last year to a starter with the M's, the rest of the M's pitching staff, and more. We play a new game entitled You Don't Know Dick.

Softy and Dick H1 - Where to watch the match? / Phantom injury? / How big is the window? / Michael Bennett clip from Cliff and Puck | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2382

England and Croatia face off in the World Cup semi-finals tomorrow morning at 11, and we're trying to figure out where to go? We need your suggestions for the best soccer bars in Seattle. Felix has been placed on the 10-day DL. He seemed fine the last time he was out. Could this be that phantom injury we talked about a few weeks ago if he under-performed? Nelson Cruz is nearing the end of his contract. Should the M's re-sign him, and what is he worth? They've got a bunch of young guys, but they've also got a bunch of guys who are almost certainly passing their peak. How big is this team's window? Michael Bennett was on with Cliff and Puck earlier today. We play back sound from the interview.

Softy and Dick H2 - Bruce Feldman on Pac-12 and the Dawgs / Dick's problem with Michael Bennett / Arlo White on the World Cup / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2424

Bruce Feldman gives his thoughts on the state of the Pac-12, when we can expect the Dawgs to capture the national stage, where Coach Petersen ranks among current college coaches, and more. He also makes his prediction for the opening game against Auburn. He's made his position clear in the past, but Dick explains his problem with Michael Bennett. Arlo White, lead soccer commentator for NBC and former Sounders commentator joins the show to talk about his native England making the semi-finals, facing off against Croatia. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show.

Softy and Dick H3 - Looking at Auburn / Hey Did You Hear That? / Former Hawks in the news / Anthony Beyrouti plays World Cup Player or NHLer | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2793

With the college football season fast approaching, we take a look at Auburn, trying to evaluate their top players against the Dawgs' top players. On Hey, Did You Hear That?: Russell Okung talks guaranteed contracts, Charles Barkley says bring back the Sonics, and more. Two former Seahawks are in the news. Brandon Browner is charged with attempted murder, and AJ Francis blasts the TSA for spilling his mother's ashes. Anthony Beyrouti of Venue Kings plays World Cup player or current NHLer.

Softy and Dick H1 - Softy's back! / Should Segura and Paxton be All Stars? / Could Diaz win the Cy Young? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2320

After two weeks off, Softy is back from his staycation. The All Star list is out, and Haniger, Diaz, and Cruz are all on it. Two M's that narrowly missed it though are James Paxton and Jean Segura. Did the two deserve to make the All Star team? Segura had great numbers, but is up against a pretty good crop of shortstops. Paxton is having a solid season, but other pitchers have better numbers and still didn't make the list, like Blake Snell for example. Softy and Dick argue over whether Paxton is having a great season. We have Chris Petersen on later in the show and we know he doesn't want to address the Hunter Bryant situation. At some point, injuries in college football are going to need to be addressed more like injuries in the NFL. Edwin Diaz has 35 saves and is on pace to reach the season record of 62. It's unusual for relievers to win the Cy Young, but he might be on track if he can keep this up.

Softy and Dick H2 - RIP Lonnie Shelton / Cano finally speaks / Bill Krueger on the Mariners / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2339

Sad news has come out today that former Sonic Lonnie Shelton has passed away at the age of 62. It seems like we've lost a lot of guys from that championship Sonics team in recent years. Robinson Cano finally speaks about his PED suspension. He claims he didn't know what he was taking, and that his doctor had prescribed it to him. Do you believe Cano, and does it even matter at this point? Bill Krueger takes a weekly look at the M's including the All Stars and possible snubs, Felix and Paxton, Seager's hot bat, and more. Textimonials weigh in on Paxton's season.

Softy and Dick H3 - Brian Schmetzer on Ruidiaz / Chris Petersen talks 2018 Huskies / Hunter Bryant: out or not? / A stay of execution | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3104

Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer joins us after a fairly productive week for the Sounders. He discusses the win over Colorado and the draw with New England. He says we could see Ruidiaz on Sunday in Atlanta, and makes his World Cup predictions. Husky head coach Chris Petersen takes a look at the 2018 football season: Where is the team and what needs to improve? Softy asks about Hunter Bryant, and after the interview he and Dick discuss whether his answer means Bryant is out for the whole season, or not. Before Softy left, the talk had been about what to do with Felix. In his last few starts Felix has looked quite a bit better however. Should we give a stay of execution for the King? Dick and Softy debate the A's' threat level to the Mariners.

 Softy and Dick H1 - Hugh Millen co-hosting / Murphy's Law / M's still rolling / Hugh answers Dick's questions about the Dawgs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2426

It was a crazy start to the show, perfect for a Friday on a holiday week. The show was supposed to be broadcasting from Jimmy's..... but things didn't go as planned. On the way back to the studio, Dick got stuck behind someone trying to parallel park who'd clearly never done it before. Oh, and someone stole a delivery truck and ended up down on the waterfront, further messing up traffic. It pretty much epitomizes Murphy's Law. Finally though, the show is underway. Softy is still out; Hugh Millen is in today. The M's won again last night (Dick also had technical problems at home ...because that's just how the last 24 hours have gone). Today, the team signed Dipoto to a contract extension. We talk a little Husky football with Hugh. Without Will Dissly, and possibly no Hunter Bryant, what does the pass-catching group look like? On the defensive side, who's going to hit the quarterback?

Softy and Dick H2 - Desmond Trufant on all things football / Corey Brock on the Dipoto extension and more / Textimonials: Ask Hugh | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2496

Former Dawg and current Falcon Desmond Trufant talks about all things football, from the changes to the LOB, to the current UW secondary, to the Falcons after the Super Bowl loss. Corey Brock of The Athletic looks at the Dipoto extension, Marco's latest outing, if the Angels are still alive, and more. Textimonials today are all directed at Hugh Millen.

Softy and Dick H3 - Jerry Dipoto's contract extended / Fun with Audio / Jeff Huson on the Rockies / Baseball's Heritage Pre-Game Show | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2919

The Mariners have extended the contract of GM Jerry Dipoto. We hear from him and talk about the deal. The best sound clips from around sports are on Fun with Audio. Jeff Huson takes an in-depth look at the M's' next opponent, the Colorado Rockies. We look back at a big Mariners and All Star moment that happened 20 years ago today, hear from Scott Servais, and set the starting lineups on Baseball's Heritage Pre-Game Show.

Softy and Dick H1 - Dick Baird co-hosting / All Star voting ends tonight / Only 17th in attendance? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2305

We've returned from our 4th of July celebrations.... well Dick and Adam have. Softy is still on vacation, so Dick Baird has stepped in to co-host today. We get Dick Baird's thoughts on the Earl Thomas hold-out, and how the team should proceed. All Star voting ends tonight and it doesn't look as promising for some M's players as you'd think. Paxton and Diaz are probably going to make it, but most of the position players might fall short. Maybe if they don't get in, they'll use it as motivation in the second half of the season. Despite the Mariners playing better baseball than they have in over a decade, Safeco Field attendance is still only 17th in baseball. Are you going to more games this year? If not, why not?

Softy and Dick H2 - Dick Fain's 5 questions about the Huskies / Textimonials: Dawgs Edition | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2605

College Football season is now less than two months away. Dick Fain's got five questions about the Huskies as we draw nearer to getting underway. Dick Baird answers these questions, and questions from listeners as he delves into the 2018 Husky roster. Textimonials today is an All Dawgs edition with more UW questions for Coach Baird.

Softy and Dick H3 - Seth Everett on the M's: Maybe Bumgarner? / Fun with Audio / The story of Moe Berg / Baseball's Heritage Pre-Game Show | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2812

Seth Everett joins the show, commenting briefly on marking ten years without the Sonics. The real reason he's on the show though is to talk some Mariners baseball. No doubt the team is looking at another arm before the trade deadline, and maybe the Giants are willing to give up Madison Bumgarner? Today's Fun with Audio, with all the best sports sound you might have missed including Victoria Smith taking gold at the Special Olympics, LaVar Ball explains why he'll get along fine with LeBron, a minor league baseball broadcaster's computer is smashed by a ball during a game, and more. Yesterday, Dick's father told him a story he'd never heard, the story of Moe Berg. It's such a great piece of baseball history that Dick decided to share it on air. Zunino and Haniger are both out tonight. We'll tell you who IS in the lineup, and get Scott Servais' comments on Baseball's Heritage Pre-Game Show.

Softy and Dick H1 - Jacson Bevens co-hosts / Fixing the flopping problem / Follow-up File / Are they exceptional? / Most missed former Hawk | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2432

With Softy still out on vacation, Jacson Bevens steps in to co-host today's show. Today's match between England and Colombia had everything a soccer fan could want, and it's pretty incredible to think that around the world there were probably a billion people watching the same thing we were watching. There's still a disconnect here in the US though, and some of it probably has to do with flopping. This is something that probably needs to be addressed if soccer is to ever take off here, but the rest of the world doesn't seem too concerned with it. From the follow-up file, Dick clarifies what happened to competitive eater Kobayashi, and golfer Joel Dahmen, guest on yesterday's program gets support for his claim that Sung Kang cheated. The Mariners are good. That's pretty well established at this point. You don't make it to 23 games over .500 if you aren't, but are they exceptional? Aside from Diaz as a closer, do they really stand out in any way? It's something to think about when comparing them to teams like the Yankees and Red Sox. Ian Furness asked Twitter to name their most missed now-former Seahawk player and Kam ran away with the poll overwhelmingly. Is this a big surprise? Dick and Jacson debate how to handle Earl Thomas moving forward.
