Softy and Dick H3 - Rick Neuheisel on UW vs. Auburn / Hey, Did You Hear That? / Learn from mistakes / The cap is unnecessary | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2892

CBS college football analyst and former coach Rick Neuheisel details what the Dawgs need to do in Saturday's game to get the win over Auburn. All the best sound from around sports on Hey, Did You Hear That? Softy and Gas break down the UW vs. Auburn game. The Dawgs need to learn from the mistakes of the past big matchups. They've got enough experience. Tyler Lockett got a new contract today, and we all know Russell Wilson's massive contract isn't too far away, but the salary cap in the NFL is holding the Hawks back from signing all the guys they'd like. Would Sherman, for example, be gone if there was no cap? Other pro leagues, even those with caps like the NBA, don't seem to let the cap get in the way of them signing key players.

Softy and Dick H1 - Husky Honks: Hugh Millen and Dick Baird join Softy every Tuesday at 3:00pm to talk Husky football on 950 KJR | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2453

For the 19th year, Dick Baird and Hugh Millen join Softy to talk about everything Husky football. The Husky Honks airs every Tuesday at 3:00pm on 950 KJR. This week's focus is on the game against Auburn in Atlanta this weekend. We've been talking about it for eight months and it is finally here. Could this be the biggest opening game in UW history? The Husky depth chart was released today. We take a look at the changes made from last year, and how it stacks up against the Tigers. We evaluate the team's strengths and weaknesses heading into the first game. Is Jake Browning up to the challenge, and can he be held responsible for the Dawgs' losses in previous games. Finally, there's been a lot of talk about Jarrett Stidham. Will he play up to the hype for Auburn?

Softy and Dick H2 - Could Shaquem take KJ Wright's starting spot? / Jon Wilner on the Huskies and Pac-12 football / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2492

With college football starting this weekend, and the NFL regular season just a week away, there's a ton going on on the show, and on 950 KJR as a whole. We outline some of our regular guests and upcoming events. Is there a chance Shaquem Griffin makes such a major impact that he takes KJ Wright's starting position? Could this keep KJ from getting a new contract? You might not have thought so a year ago, but with all of the roster moves this off-season, it doesn't seem so unlikely. Jon Wilner of the Mercury News talks about his expectations for the Pac-12. Does he believe all hope for the conference rests on the shoulders of the Dawgs? What does he expect to happen in the UW/Auburn game? Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show.

Softy and Dick H3 - Why all the secrecy? / Mike Florio on the NFL / Return of the Mack? / Tammy from Auburn / Tuesdays with Tod Leiweke | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4407

Why are so many college football coaches so obsessed with keeping secrets? Some coaches won't let players talk to the media, don't issue injury reports, won't announce starting players, etc. For the sake of speculation, and the sake of gambling which is becoming legal in more states, let's make things at least NFL-level transparent. If the Dawgs lose this weekend, will it completely kill fan enthusiasm? Especially with the next few games being against much lower-level opponents it seems like it probably will. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk talks about his expectations for the re-tooled Seahawks, and takes us around the NFL. Pete Carroll's Song of the Day was Return of the Mack. Is this some coded message signaling that Khalil Mack is headed to Seattle. Tiger superfan Tammy from Auburn calls the show to explain why she's absolutely positive the Dawgs will lose this weekend, despite not being able to name a single Husky player. On Tuesdays with Tod, Tod Leiweke talks about what he'll look for when it comes time to hire a head coach, where the team might end up on TV, and how he'll be preparing to go before the executive committee, hopefully in October.

Softy and Dick H1 - Terry Blount fills in / It's game week! / What's our confidence in Jake Browning? / Chris Petersen sits down with Softy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2388

Dick Fain is out today. Terry Blount joins Softy who is extra fired up because it's the first day of game week. We've been anticipating this game for months, and it's finally almost here, the Dawgs play Auburn on Saturday. Maybe Softy wouldn't be as fired up if UW was playing North Dakota, but with this massive matchup, it's hard to not be excited. What do the Dawgs need to do to win this game? We look at where this team really needs to step up to ensure a victory. How confident are we that Jake Browning can be the guy? He's going to need to have a great game. Softy catches up to Coach Chris Petersen as the Dawgs get ready for the big matchup this weekend.

Softy and Dick H2 - Marco Gonzales now on the DL / Joel Klatt on the Dawgs and all things college football / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2526

It's more bad news for the M's as Marco Gonzales has been placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to Friday. It was clear already but it's painfully obvious now; the M's really needed to add a starting pitcher. Fox Sports' Joel Klatt joins us as he will every Monday at 4:20 to discuss everything college football. He shares his pre-season thoughts on the Pac-12, and his prediction for this weekend's Washington / Auburn game. Textimonials with thoughts on the Huskies and Hawks.

Softy and Dick H3 - Brian Schmetzer on another Sounders win / Bill Krueger on the M's / Chris Petersen / Byron Murphy on the Auburn game | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2930

The Sounders were victorious once again, beating the Timbers 1-0. That marks seven straight victories, and ten consecutive games without a loss. Head coach Brian Schmetzer joins the show to discuss the game and the latest with the team. There's a lot of news surrounding the Mariners; some good, some bad. Bill Krueger covers all of it. Softy chats with Chris Petersen as the season is about to get underway. Husky CB Byron Murphy discusses this Saturday's game against Auburn.

Softy and Dick H1 - From the Boeing Classic at Snoqualmie Ridge with Hugh Millen / Paul Allen on the Vikings / Ian Furness from Minnesota | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2400

Softy and Dick broadcast from The Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, joined for the first hour by Hugh Millen who made the long trek from his house just a few holes away. Tonight is the third pre-season game for the Hawks and one thing we'll be watching for is Chris Carson's production. After being out since getting hurt last year, we're looking forward to seeing him pick back up where he left off. He'll likely be the starting running back for this team unless he shows that he can't live up to what he showed us last year. Paul Allen, voice of the Vikings calls in from Minnesota to give us his thoughts on his team before tonight's game. Ian Furness is also in the Twin Cities for the game. He tells us what he's looking to see out of the Hawks.

Softy and Dick H2 - Urban Meyer apologizes again / Corey Brock on Paxton's expected return / Dick's beef with M's fans / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2513

Urban Meyer apologized yet again today, apologizing for his apology while reading a prepared statement about domestic violence. Hugh Millen, who has had a lot ot say about the story already, gives his thoughts on the latest developments. Corey Brock from the Athletic has his weekly look at the Mariners, including when the team expects to have Paxton back on the mound. Dick has a beef with a large contingent of Mariners fans who are jumping off the bandwagon already. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show.

Softy and Dick H3 - Stefan Frei on the Sounders / Jimmy Lake / Jordan Miller / Michelle Beadle's stance against football / Fred Couples | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2849

Stefan Frei, Sounders goalkeeper talked about staying focused in a game where he's not involved in all the action, the team's high expectations and how that's motivated them to get through their early-season struggles, and the intensity of the rivalry with the Portland Timbers. Husky DC Jimmy Lake talks about what he's expecting to see from the Dawgs' defense during the Auburn game. Jordan Miller sits down with Dick Fain. ESPN's Michelle Beadle is going to be covering the NBA moving forward, and it might have something to do with her stance on the NFL. She says she didn't watch football last season, and won't again this season because of the league's lack of response on domestic violence. Dick Fain joins a handful of other reporters in speaking to Fred Couples at the Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.

Softy and Dick H1 - Urban Meyer suspended for 3 games/ Tim Brando on Urban Meyer, and the Dawgs' playoff odds / Do they HAVE to beat Auburn? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2480

As the show broke yesterday, the news broke that Urban Meyer would serve a three game suspension in connection to the Zach Smith domestic abuse story. Whether you believe he deserved to lose his job or not, there was clearly something wrong happening here. He just happened to decide to delete old text messages the day the story broke. He lied about knowing about the incident, and then admitted he lied about it. Three games, at the beginning of the season, not much of a punishment. Tim Brando joins the show to discuss the latest updates on Urban Meyer, and what the Dawgs are going to have to do to make the Playoff. Will the Huskies really HAVE to defeat Auburn in order to make it to the Final Four?

Softy and Dick H2 - Tinkering with the offensive line / Mike Holmgren on all things Hawks / Textimonials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2527

Just when we thought the Seahawks were getting comfortable with teh offensive line, they start moving guys around. If there's ever a time to do it, it's probably right now, and if it works, great. It would just be nice to have an O-Line that sticks together for two seasons. Is that too much to ask? Mike Holmgren talks about everything Seahawks including the position changes, and how he'd handle the Earl Thomas story. On Textimonials, if Urban Meyer was your team's coach, how would you want him handled, and can the Huskies make it to the Playoff even if they lose to Auburn?

Softy and Dick H3 - Pete Carroll before tomorrow's game / Hugh Millen on Jimmy Graham, Urban Meyer, and UW concerns / Show up on both sides | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2851

Pete Carroll talks to the media for the last time before tomorrow's game in Minnesota. We get an update on who we'll see tomorrow and who we won't. Apparently Amara Darboh isn't likely to play tomorrow? Are we basically done with him? Hugh Millen explains why he's a Jimmy Graham detractor, gives his thoughts on the Urban Meyer story, and expresses his biggest concerns with UW against Auburn next week. This could be the first time in a long time the Huskies are able to show up on both sides of the ball.

Softy and Dick H1 - Marco Gonzales gets crushed / Bobby Wagner speaks on Earl Thomas / Nick Aliotti on UW and the Pac-12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2372

Mariners played a day game today and Marco Gonzales got completely rocked. It's his fourth game in a row. It's pretty clear that the Mariners could use another starting pitcher, but obviously they didn't get one when they had the chance. Is that Dipoto's fault, or is the farm system so depleted that we had nothing to trade for? Bobby Wagner spoke to the media today. He commented on Earl Thomas' holdout and player contracts. He seems to feel that defensive players aren't paid what they're worth, despite Seattle being near the top of the league on defensive spending. Former Oergon DC Nick Aliotti, now with the Pac-12 Network, talks about his expectations for the Dawgs, the improving Oregon Ducks, and a look around the conference.

Softy and Dick H2 - Myles Gaskin, nationally underrated / Petros Papadakis with Don MacLean / Textimonials: Mariner (lover)reaction | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2509

Kirk Herbstreit released his annual Herbies this morning, and he named Husky RB Myles Gaskin as one of the most underrated players in college football. Obviously, he's not underrated locally, but ask a bunch of SEC fans, and most won't be able to tell you who he is. Could he be a Heisman contender? If his numbers stay where they've been, it's not too likely, but if he can pick them up a bit he might have a shot at going to New York. Petros Papadakis makes his weekly Wednesday appearance, and is, for no apparent reason, joined by former Sonic and UCLA Bruin Don MacLean. Textimonials suggest that some M's fans are ready to declare the team dead after the last couple of games. Things don't look great, but it's a little early for that still.
