If the Dawgs lose this weekend, will it completely kill fan enthusiasm? Especially with the next few games being against much lower-level opponents it seems like it probably will. Dick Fain is out today. Terry Blount joins Softy who is extra fired up because it's the first day of game week. We've been anticipating this game for months, and it's finally almost here, the Dawgs play Auburn on Saturday. Maybe Softy wouldn't be as fired up if UW was playing North Dakota, but with this massive matchup, it's hard to not be excited. What do the Dawgs need to do to win this game? We look at where this team really needs to step up to ensure a victory. How confident are we that Jake Browning can be the guy? He's going to need to have a great game. It's more bad news for the M's as Marco Gonzales has been placed on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to Friday. It was clear already but it's painfully obvious now; the M's really needed to add a starting pitcher. Fox Sports' Joel Klatt joins us as he will every Monday at 4:20 to discuss everything college football. Softy and Dick broadcast from The Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, joined for the first hour by Hugh Millen who made the long trek from his house just a few holes away. Tonight is the third pre-season game for the Hawks and one thing we'll be watching for is Chris Carson's production. After being out since getting hurt last year, we're looking forward to seeing him pick back up where he left off. He'll likely be the starting running back for this team unless he shows that he can't live up to what he showed us last year. Paul Allen, voice of the Vikings calls in from Minnesota to give us his thoughts on his team before tonight's game. Ian Furness is also in the Twin Cities for the game. He tells us what he's looking to see out of the Hawks.

Urban Meyer apologized yet again today, apologizing for his apology while reading a prepared statement about domestic violence. Hugh Millen, who has had a lot ot say about the story already, gives his thoughts on the latest developments. Corey Brock from the Athletic has his weekly look at the Mariners, including when the team expects to have Paxton back on the mound. ESPN's Michelle Beadle is going to be covering the NBA moving forward, and it might have something to do with her stance on the NFL. She says she didn't watch football last season, and won't again this season because of the league's lack of response on domestic violence. Dick Fain joins a handful of other reporters in speaking to Fred Couples at the Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.

As the show broke yesterday, the news broke that Urban Meyer would serve a three game suspension in connection to the Zach Smith domestic abuse story. Whether you believe he deserved to lose his job or not, there was clearly something wrong happening here. He just happened to decide to delete old text messages the day the story broke. He lied about knowing about the incident, and then admitted he lied about it. Three games, at the beginning of the season, not much of a punishment. Tim Brando joins the show to discuss the latest updates on Urban Meyer, and what the Dawgs are going to have to do to make the Playoff. Will the Huskies really HAVE to defeat Auburn in order to make it to the Final Four?

Just when we thought the Seahawks were getting comfortable with teh offensive line, they start moving guys around. If there's ever a time to do it, it's probably right now, and if it works, great. It would just be nice to have an O-Line that sticks together for two seasons. Is that too much to ask? Mike Holmgren talks about everything Seahawks including the position changes, and how he'd handle the Earl Thomas story. Mariners played a day game today and Marco Gonzales got completely rocked. It's his fourth game in a row. It's pretty clear that the Mariners could use another starting pitcher, but obviously they didn't get one when they had the chance. Is that Dipoto's fault, or is the farm system so depleted that we had nothing to trade for? Bobby Wagner spoke to the media today. He commented on Earl Thomas' holdout and player contracts. He seems to feel that defensive players aren't paid what they're worth, despite Seattle being near the top of the league on defensive spending. Former Oergon DC Nick Aliotti, now with the Pac-12 Network, talks about his expectations for the Dawgs, the improving Oregon Ducks, and a look around the conference.

Kirk Herbstreit released his annual Herbies this morning, and he named Husky RB Myles Gaskin as one of the most underrated players in college football. Obviously, he's not underrated locally, but ask a bunch of SEC fans, and most won't be able to tell you who he is. Could he be a Heisman contender? If his numbers stay where they've been, it's not too likely, but if he can pick them up a bit he might have a shot at going to New York. Petros Papadakis makes his weekly Wednesday appearance, and is, for no apparent reason, joined by former Sonic and UCLA Bruin Don MacLean. Textimonials suggest that some M's fans are ready to declare the team dead after the last couple of games. Things don't look great, but it's a little early for that still.
