Episode 406: Snow Day and Cracking Mrs. Croaker (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:07

GC13 and David discuss Snow Day and Cracking Mrs. Croaker from Amphibia. Snow Day loads up Chekhov’s Gun with some sleight of hand, but we’re not mad: those pictures Anne and Sprig took were too darling. Plus, the hibernation episode wasn’t anything like Survival of the Idiots, so that has to count for something. Plus, Sprig is a popular boy now (boy now, boy now). It’s just too bad Mrs. Croaker doesn’t think so. Now Sprig has to do something DRASTIC. And while the cicadas may sound nice for a little bit, living with them does start to grate on your ears after a while…

Episode 405: Croak and Punishment and Trip to the Archives (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:43

GC13 and David discuss Croak and Punishment and Trip to the Archives from Amphibia. So Anne has finally found out why it’s dangerous to have her hair taste like foliage; Sprig has probably also broken the land speed record. He makes a good bad cop too, though he’d probably make a good good cop as well. Unfortunately no cicadas made it into the recording, but David did have a frog join him towards the end of the episode.

Episode 404: Civil Wart and Hop-Popular (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:36

GC13 and David discuss Civil Wart and Hop-Popular from Amphibia. Did someone say “Hop Pop episode”? Because Hopediah is becoming a popular man. He’s at least more popular than Hunter. Stupid Hunter. Where would he even be without his fantastic abs? Whether Toadstool won his election fair and square or not though, at least Hop Pop has his stand back. Thankfully the market survived the shipping war.

Episode 403: Grubhog Day and Hop Pop and Lock (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:15

GC13 and David discuss Grubhog Day and Hop Pop and Lock from Amphibia. If you have trouble reading that first title as anything other than “Grubhub Day” then we feel your pain, and we’ve got just the medicine: a groovy electro swing beat from Hop Pop and Lock, minus the electro! Don’t wonder why the Mayor is back, by the way: it’s more interesting to wonder why he would trust a Plantar of all people not to mess things up. Unless… The plan was always for things to get messed up!

Episode 402: Toad Tax and Prison Break (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:45

GC13 and David discuss Toad Tax and Prison Break from Amphibia. Well, it’s official: the plot has come to Wartwood. Three thugs from the tower deputize Anne, but in a startling display of maturity she actually earns the respect of the townsfolk rather than enjoying lording it over them. Meanwhile at Toad Tower, Sasha introduces everyone to the power of compliments. Use them, people! You’ll catch more flies with honey than vinegar, after all, and you want to keep your frogs well-fed, don’t you?

Episode 401: Lily Pad Thai and Plantar's Last Stand (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:14

GC13 and David discuss Lily Pad Thai and Plantar’s Last Stand from Amphibia. Looks like Anne is at it again, and this time Hop-Pop is getting in on the scamming action. Whether you see the connection to Fred Flintstone or not, you have to admit it: the man’s a good actor. But Anne has also proven her skills in the restaurant industry. Whatever hand your spatula is on, whatever your spatula is made of, you have to salute her. Hopefully nothing bad ever happens here…

Episode 400: Contagi-Anne and Family Shrub (from Amphibia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:02

GC13 and David discuss Contagi-Anne and Family Shrub from Amphibia. And so on our four hundredth episode we return to Frog Show, with Emma Plantar and Polliana: the turnt-up warrior. Truly the Plantar family shrub is impressive. As was the no-twist twist in Contagi-Anne. We should all hope we have such amazing family lairs hidden in our own secret basements—and that whoever is responsible for scrubbing the pots doesn’t use the same sponge they use for cleaning the bathroom floor.

Episode 399: Adventures in the Elements (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:27

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Adventures in the Elements from The Owl House. There’s just something about snowy episodes, isn’t there? Maybe it’s just that there’s no snow in Texas—only Dr. Pepper. But to stay out of the baby class (for babies) Luz needs to learn how to make ice, and she needs to do it without a training wand. And maybe after she learns it she’ll even be able to take her confident self over to the Slitherbeast’s cave and ask him if he’s still getting royalties from his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back.

Episode 398: Sense and Insensitivity (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:06

GC13 and Soren discuss Sense and Insensitivity from The Owl House. Crunch culture is a heck of a thing, isn’t it? If a writer hasn’t come up with a sequel to his bestselling novel in 24 hours, then the levelheaded thing to do is obviously to trap him in a shrinking cube with his co-author and a one-hour death timer. Or not. We’re not in publishing though, so what do we know? We probably wouldn’t ambush two of the most powerful witches on the isles either.

Episode 397: Escape of the Palisman (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:58

GC13 and Soren discuss Escape of the Palisman from The Owl House. Who has Hexside pride? Luz does! Even if she spends all of her time walking around in a Glandus shirt. She also cares enough for Owlbert to fight the Bat Queen: the biggest palisman you’ve ever seen! And maybe one of the funniest too. By the way, if you’ve ever had trouble with your braces, then Soren has definitely felt your pain. But please do wear your retainer as directed, or it will all be for nothing.

Episode 396: Something Ventured, Someone Framed (The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:51

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Something Ventured, Someone Framed from The Owl House. Look, no one’s happy that it’s an episode based off of one character lying to another, but it’s times like this where’s it’s best to Be Like Bump: that guy doesn’t care about much of anything, does he? And that’s what we love about him. So whether you think Eda was a good student or an awful one, enjoy her past antics and Luz’s present day antics: she’s enrolled now.

Episode 395: Once Upon A Swap (The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:29

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Once Upon A Swap from The Owl House. Whether you’re a fan of body swap episodes or not, this Freaky Fraturday mixup takes you to some strange places. Like the inside of a police station. But it’s still fun to see friends live out their friends’ lives, even if nobody has it as easy as anyone initially thought. Just… Maybe don’t eat the cupcakes at the cat cafe. Not if you value your mind, anyway…

Episode 394: Dating Season and Anne vs Wild | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:22

GC13 and David discuss Dating Season and Anne vs Wild from Amphibia. Amphibia is a strange, messed up world. Between their bizarre, exploitative courtship rituals and their idyllic campgrounds with such wimpy amenities as potable water, it’s a miracle they can get anything done. Luckily the episodes have back to back guest voice actors, and Anne has a peony princess bath bomb in her backpack just in case some very muddy but also very cannibal frogs try to eat everyone.

 Episode 393: Lost in Language | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:57

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Lost in Language from The Owl House. Spoiler alert if you’re not up to date with The Owl House, but Lumity began here. Why be someone’s rival if you can befriend and romance them instead? And in addition to setting us down that path, we also met the Blight Twins. They may not be at their nicest here, but they play Luz like a fiddle and we get to see some pretty amazing magic as a result. All’s well that ends well, right?

Episode 392: Susie and the Babies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:01

GC13 and David discuss the Susie and the Babies arc from Summer Camp Island’s fifth season. Three more babies now know their magical identifies (or lack thereof): Oliver, Alexa, and Lem. Hopefully Susie can keep Alexa and Pepper separated, or else things might get lucky. And to top it all off now we might even have a hint that maybe the summer camp is actually old, like it appeared to be before Jimjams told us the story in season three. Are you confused yet?
