 Episode 16: Shirt Club | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:39

GC13 (aka TheRealGC13), Dakota, and Hunter discuss the last season one episode to air, Shirt Club. With season one finally finished (and after only three season two episodes have aired), it is officially on. It may have aired a bit out of order, but even if there’s some disagreement over how good the episode is, everyone’s glad we got Shirt Club. Having a bit more time with Mayor Dewey is especially enjoyed, as is the fact that Pearl (aka Bird Mom) seemed to have turned her stool into a perch. Now that we have (most of) season two ahead of us, we can ask the tough questions: When will Greg go on tour to promote Water Witch? When will Steven’s birthday be? And when do we get to see Garnet and Pearl fuse!?!

 Episode 15: Story for Steven | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:23

GC13, Ken, and Dakota discuss another of our season-one refugees: Story for Steven. Oddly enough for an episode without any fusing, fusion Gems are discussed quite a bit. Sour Cream (and the now likely identity of his father) is also discussed, as is his (probably half-) brother, the dark lord Onion. Gem outfits and episode synopses also get a fair amount of talk time. Next week we’ll be discussing the last episode originally produced with season one, Shirt Club. Don’t miss it!

 Episode 14: Say Uncle | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:30

GC13, Ken, Dakota, and Hunter discuss the crossover between Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa: Say Uncle. Many laughs were made out loud, and if you dislike Say Uncle then Ken will find you. Clarence and Codename: Kids Next Door – and attempts to build support for a new Galactic Kids Next Door series – come up. The group also discusses the new Steven Universe game on mobile: Attack the Light. Finally, Ken, Dakota, and Hunter show off their musical talents with their hit single: WACC SOF.

 Episode 13: Joy Ride | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:46

GC13, Ken, and Dakota discuss Joy Ride, the second episode to air which was produced as part of season two. The upcoming crossover episode between Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa, Say Uncle, also comes up: get ready, it’s coming! Are Sour Cream and Onion step-brothers or half-brothers? Did we see Peridot walking down the road as Steven and the cool kids drove past? Can the Crystal Gems really hover in the air or is that just part of the great diamond conspiracy? Don’t look to us for answers: we just want to see you laughing in the pizza rain. So this leaves us with Say Uncle airing this week. The previews look like they made it work, so let’s see what happens when a reality warper shows up on the beach with a mind to help Steven with his Gem powers.

 Episode 12: Open Book | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:25

Ken, GC13, and Hunter discuss Open Book, the first of three season one episodes being aired with the season two episodes. Connie’s behavior as a representation of fandoms in general is explored. Also, when did you realize what was going on in the episode? Did the Crewniverse miss a good opportunity to introduce a recurring antagonist for Rose’s room? Scoring a solid B, Open Book certainly has nothing to be ashamed of. Finally, at the end there is a bit of foreshadowing: the crossover with Uncle Grandpa is coming soon, the week after Joy Ride airs. Be ready.

 Episode 11: #StevenBomb | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:06

With #StevenBomb over, GC13 and Ken get their final thoughts in on the event. While the event was intense for lore, with all of the “filler” (if there is such a thing in Steven Universe) cut out, we’re still left with plenty of questions. Perhaps most importantly, there’s now plenty of hype for the show going into season two. There are so many chickens that haven’t come home to roost yet, and we just know that season two will send some more out into the world. Now that we’re back on our weekly schedule, the next episode of the podcast will be at the regular time next week and will cover Open Book.

 Episode 10: Full Disclosure | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:40

Ken and GC13 discuss the season two premier of Steven Universe and the last episode of the #StevenBomb, Full Disclosure. A rare occurrence! Ken and GC13 agree on an episode for the first time (not counting the finale, which was too amazing for anyone to dislike)! Of course the discussion goes back to The Return and Jailbreak briefly, but we manage to stay on topic most of the time.

Episode 9: The Return and Jailbreak | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:09

GC13, Dakota, Ken, and Hunter discuss the big season-one finale of Steven Universe: The Return and Jailbreak. It happened, and it was huge. There’s so much to talk about in this episode that it’s hard to list. Jasper as a villain, the relative strength of Peridot’s ship compared to other homeworld ships, the Planet of the Pearls, the imprisonment of Malachite, how much everyone loves Stronger Than You, and so much more. There’s also a fanart backlog building up: Viking Pearl, Batman Dewey, and now a version of Sapphire crossed over with Alice from Alice: Madness Returns.

 Episode 8: Political Power | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:31

Dakota, GC13, Ken, and Hunter discuss Political Power, the latest episode dropped as part of #StevenBomb. The Steven Universe community is falling dangerously behind in fan art: we still haven’t received any viking Pearl fan art, and now we need fan art of Mayor Dewey as Batman. With The Return and Jail Break just a day away it’s hard to think of anything else, but we all take time to appreciate what a dedicated mayor Dewey is (as if it wasn’t already obvious). And just what is the deal with Onion? Could he have had something to do with the grisly fate of Ocean Town? Don’t miss tomorrow’s podcast on the big two-part season finale!

 Episode 7: The Message | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:25

Dakota, GC13, and Ken continue to cover #StevenBomb, discussing The Message and the possible continuation of Greg’s music career. Also, we bring you our hard-hitting report on the #TelevisionGate scandal currently sweeping the fandom.

 Episode 6: Rose's Scabbard | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:36

Ken, GC13, and Dakota kick off our daily #StevenBomb coverage with a discussion of Rose’s Scabbard. How do immortal beings cope with the loss of a loved one? What was the deal with the pyramid temple in Serious Steven? Pearl: threat or menace? Be sure to check back daily as we cover the previous day’s episode!

 Episode 5: Marble Madness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:41

In the fifth episode of the podcast, GC13, Ken, and Hunter discuss Marble Madness and the impending #StevenBomb. Peridot: cute bureaucrat or cutest bureaucrat? Will Pearl gain the secondary title of crab mom, or is she simply being dramatic? Why is the homeworld returning now? Is there a point in dancing around a (spoiler warning) new character’s name if you’re just going to say it later? Be sure to tune in tomorrow: we’ll be recording and releasing podcasts daily for the duration of #StevenBomb, and we’ll be back at the regular time next week as well for an episode discussing the event as a whole.

 Episode 4: Maximum Capacity | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:00

In the fourth episode of the podcast, Ken, GC13, and Hunter go over Maximum Capacity. It looks like Amethyst may have taken a hit to her popularity but is still holding on. Other questions asked are: Could Greg have done better if he had never met Rose? How long has Steven lived with the Crystal Gems? Is our paragon, Mayor Dewey, ready to become a villain?

 Episode 3: Winter Forecast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:41

In the third episode of the podcast, GC13, Ken, and Dakota discuss Winter Forecast, but not before discussing the big news of the show’s upcoming crossover with fellow Cartoon network program Uncle Grandpa. Also discussed are Garnet’s future vision, her status as a fusion, and a continuation of last week’s discussion about the lighthouse gem, the gem on the money, and the gem from Serious Steven. Also be sure to check out the art Rebecca Sugar did for Estelle’s (Garnet’s voice actress) latest album cover: here is the crest design, and how it looks on a CD case.

 Episode 2: Horror Club | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:26

In the second episode of the podcast Hunter joins the crew after losing a Super Smash Brothers tournament. Horror Club is the subject of this week’s podcast, and the crew has a lot of questions: what should the Ronaldo x Sadie ship be named, why is Ronaldo so weird, and what does the diamond mean? Things get so confusing, even the meanings of “earliest” and “latest” become flexible! Everyone is really excited for what the gem revealed at the end of Horror Club could mean for the future of the series. To think, such plot potential included in an episode focused on side characters.
