Here he was regretting his choices and making the right decision in the end, all while being an absolute ace at flyer derby. As for Amity and Luz? Well, they have a little adventure, to be sure. Luz learns Tinella Nosa’s name, and Tibbles survives another day without being made into BLTs. (Nothing’s perfect.)

GC13 and David discuss Little Fingers from Bee and PuppyCat. You know what? Lazy in Space can go to some weird places. Like a Palm planet, populated by a pair of gross aliens who like to touch things, like giant soda in a giant cup. And still on her quest for revenge, Toast announces that she is going to be the mother to Merlin’s child, tying her to Cas forever. Somehow this seems more like doom for Merlin than doom for Cas…

GC13 and David discuss Gentle Touch from Bee and PuppyCat. It’s time to get your chill on. Not only have we arrived at what might be the most chill episode of a chill series, but the coolest member of the Wizard family is here to show PuppyCat the way: Wesley. Of course PuppyCat may not be strong enough to punch newborn kittens, but his soft gentle paws are perfect for dispersing dandelion aliens throughout the galaxy. Not even the evil hands can be mad about that.

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Elsewhere and Elsewhen from The Owl House. When The Owl House brings out the time travel, you know it’s going to be a doozy. Long thought to be just an urban legend, like possums, time travel turns out to be very real, and we’ll see the consequences on Luz’s conscience as we continue with the season. There’s no way Flora D’splora is her real name though, is there? Either way, Belos knew exactly what he was doing sending her to see Lilith. His manipulations lasted hundreds of years.

GC13 and Soren discuss Follies at the Coven Day Parade from The Owl House. The second half of the second season starts off with some real (illegal) fireworks, with Kikimora getting some real time to shine and Terra Snapdragon practicing for her step into the spotlight. Bravo, Terra! But just because we’re admiring the villainy doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate a good mystery. Sure, we know why Belos says he’s looking forward to meeting Luz, but will we ever truly know how low tide can occur during a solar eclipse in the demon realm?

Now that we’ve solved some of the mysteries that surround Bee, it’s time for new ones to take their place. And, of course, for the soundtrack to come in strong. GC13, Soren, and David discuss Yesterday’s Lie from The Owl House. This is where a lot of angst gets accidentally heaped on Luz—we’re not the only ones getting hit with the gut-wrenching feels. If only she could stop beating herself up for one minute so she could defend herself. On the bright side, at least it was only talking rats. If it were talking seagulls, not only would a lot of babies probably go missing, but we’re certain the citizens of Gravesfield would find themselves hearing whispers of dark prophecies…

GC13 and David discuss Who Would Want This? from Bee and PuppyCat. The second episode of the series, recapping the original YouTube series, ups the ante of weirdness. We’re introduced to the mysterious Cardamon and his dog Sticky, and get to follow Bee and PuppyCat on three more official temp jobs. And of course Bee unlocks a secret fourth temp job with her complete failure to read the room—a skill she shares with Luz. We don’t know about you, but we’d be willing to risk the cats to work at that human café.

Belos really knows how to keep a Grimwalker loyal: even though he’s being sidelined, Hunter is so desperate to stay on his good side that he goes out to get the Titan’s Blood before Kikimora does—and she knows he’s going to too! And as rad as she is, Amity can’t defend the portal key from him—not when he’s willing to threaten Luz to get what he wants. Perhaps if Eda and the Owl Beast had just imagined him as a vole…

GC13 and David discuss Again for the First Time from Bee and PuppyCat. Oh yes, that episode happened. It happened beautifully. The first episode recapping the original web series, Again for the First Time covers a lot of ground, introducing you to the characters and the basic premise of their relationship. What mysteries does Bee and PuppyCat have? Quite a few, but getting answers to them might take some time, and a bit of brainpower too. Keep your eyes, and your mind, open.

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door from The Owl House. It’s like three episodes in one, each with more plot impact than the last: King learns he has a power, Eda makes her peace with the Owl Beast and gets a new form for her trouble, and Amity and Luz finally make it official. And plus, The Owl House’s reference game in their titles had officially reached its peak.

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Eda’s Requiem from The Owl House. So it turns out Eda has an ex, does she? And not only does Eda have adoptive children, Raine has adopted kids too—and it looks like Amber isn’t waiting for the wedding to start calling Eda “mama”. This episode set King down a path. That’s Bad Girl Coven magic alright, but is the bad girl’s magic good or bad? Plus, Darius is literally the greatest and we won’t hear a word otherwise.

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Thanks to Them, from The Owl House. This is how the end begins: with Luz and Hunter going through some stuff, and Belos continuing to focus entirely on the murderous task he assigned to himself those centuries ago. We learned a lot about Caleb and Philip, about the town of Gravesfield, and maybe even a bit about the Clawthorne family as well… But now it’s time to return to the Boiling Isles. There are friends to save, and a story to end.

GC13 and Soren discuss Hunting Palismen from The Owl House. And no, we Thanks to Them hadn’t aired when we recorded this. But yes, we have watched the episode now. On its own merits though, Hunting Palismen is a great episode. It’s a proper introduction to Hunter, we get to see a scheme from Kikimora, a wonderful usage of wild magic, and a crazy dragon you’d only find on the Boiling Isles. The only thing the episode is missing is a pet shop with a password. Wait…

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Through the Looking Glass Ruins from The Owl House. It’s a Gus-focus episode, but Luz and Amity still find a way to steal the show with their trek through the Forbidden Stacks. Their unnecessary trip; communication is key to any relationship, including your relationship with your boss. But when Gus turns on the illusions, he’s playing for keeps. Willow isn’t the only prodigy of a witch Luz hangs around with.
