 Episode 451: The Lackadaisy pilot | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:21

GC13 and Soren discuss the pilot for Lackadaisy. If you haven’t seen the Lackadaisy pilot, go watch it now. This isn’t something we expected to be talking about, but we’re really glad we watched it, and you’ll be glad you did too. It’s 1927, the depths of Prohibition, and the Lackadaisy speakeasy is relying on three youngsters to help keep the lights on and… Well, they wouldn’t have made a short film about it if everything had gone to plan, would they have?

Episode 450: Watching and Dreaming [part 2] (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:59

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Watching and Dreaming from The Owl House again. What a finale. With a focus on the epilogue, we look into the future of the Boiling Isles. After Belos gets stomped, the characters all get to move on with their lives before Luz’s big party, and we wonder what a new series could cover (and how best to scale the Arm). With this second podcast episode The Owl House is truly done. Except for the three episodes of season two we have to discuss with David. That’s not done yet.

Episode 449: Watching and Dreaming (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:38

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Watching and Dreaming, the series finale of The Owl House. Well, it’s over. Did you think it was a good finale? There are so many questions we may never get the answers to (at least one even brought up during this episode!) but happily ever after, here we are. This isn’t the first series we’ve seen end before its time, and it doesn’t get any easier. Here’s to hoping that The Owl House enjoys some kind of continuation in the future as well.

Episode 448: Bird Friend (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:41

GC13 and David discuss Bird Friend from Bee and PuppyCat. The sweet episodes keep on rolling (for now). The ever-industrious PuppyCat is hard at work trying to figure out a way to take care of the Warlocks, for good, but his methods range from the direct to the esoteric. But Bee? Bee is smart. Cas said so, and we trust her judgment implicitly. Not so much her wrestling ability these days, but at least she has a confetti cannon for her entrance now.

Episode 447: Labyrinth Runners (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:56

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Labyrinth Runners from The Owl House. Adrian Graye, head witch of the Illusion coven, came down to Hexside looking for some magic to steal. Belos may be in a bind by now, but not as much as Severine was given the numerous times she messed up in this episode. (None of this could possibly be Adrian’s fault, could it?) The students were victorious, but Hunter finally joining the team is probably the biggest development. We all knew Willow was super strong—Amity was the only one who learned.

Episode 446: Did You Remember!? (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:45

GC13 and David discuss Did You Remember from Bee and PuppyCat. PuppyCat has been living with Bee for more than a year now, and he definitely didn’t forget her birthday: he did, in fact, follow her around all day hiding cakes for her to find. And apparently resolved PuppyCat’s bone problem in a soft, comfortable way. But we still don’t know how it is that Bee is able to use her space money  to pay off her Earthly (?) debts. When will the real mysteries be solved?

Episode 445: Edge of the World (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 25:54

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Edge of the World from The Owl House. Yeah, Luz and Hunter has problems, but King is throwing his little hat in the ring. First off, will be ever grow as wonderful a moustache as he dreams of? Second, the family group he thought he was joining turns out to be an enemy group, and they want him to stop being alive. The Titan Trappers are an interesting group. Maybe we’ll never get a full explanation of them, but there’s lots of food for thought here.

Episode 444: Hollow Mind (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:36

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Hollow Mind from The Owl House. Who’s ready to get on the Trauma Train? Luz and Hunter both get on, and there’s not much disagreement over who deserves their front row seat the best! But trauma isn’t a competition—and if it was, we’d all want to do our part to make sure Belos won. And of course they would tell us the title of the final episode after we record but before this episode of the podcast goes live. Watching Dreaming, we’ll be waiting.

Episode 443: My Favorite (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:14

GC13 and David discuss My Favorite from Bee and PuppyCat. Is this episode your favorite? We hope so, because it has the perfect name for it. Also, it has the Pretty Patrick combo beard and baby reveal, so it’s even unveiling major plot elements. Oh yeah, and some very strange warlocks. They’re here too. They got a face reveal, but every question answered introduces two more to ask. This is going to be a long season folks, so buckle in.

Episode 442: Them's the Breaks, Kid (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:31

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Them’s the Breaks, Kid from The Owl House. Alright, it’s time for a flashback! Young Eda, young Raine, young Bump: two of these characters are exactly like you’d expect them to be, and one is completely the opposite. Who knew there were so many ways to use bardic magic? Not only the sheer devastation possible with concentrated sound, but that end-of-episode plot twist means we’re going to have to raise bards up in our estimation.

Episode 441: Funny Lying (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:02

GC13 and David discuss Funny Lying from Bee and PuppyCat. Things in the show are getting heavy. Funny Lying brought us some serious PuppyCat backstory, and it was all accompanied by the voice acting talents of Steve Blum! It’s not just the voices that are familiar either. Watch the flashbacks and you’ll see a familiar hairdo. Of course that all adds up to there being far, far more questions than there are answers, but we’re intrigued.

Episode 440: Reaching Out (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:31

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Reaching Out from The Owl House. Who knew a wrestling episode could be so hard-hitting? Luz has lost a father, Amity barely has one, and in his quest for acceptance Edric turns Not-Warden Wrath into a monster that can actually fight—too late to defend his championship belt, however. While the truth-in-television on the effects of grief can make you sad, take heart: this is finally the episode where Alador makes a decision to be better.

Episode 439: Snow and Violets (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:40

GC13 and David discuss Snow and Violets from Bee and PuppyCat. It’s an episode of two parts. The island is undergoing Seasons Day, and the cat cafe is celebrating with special dishes. Toast is celebrating in her own way: riding out of Cas’s room on a toy train, on tracks being set down by Merlin. And then, in space, Bee and PuppyCat take up a freebie job on a race tack planet and help Root Beer Guy’s racing uncle win a race the right way: by cheating! But at least he gets to be rainbow colored again.

Episode 438: For the Future (from The Owl House) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:51

GC13, Soren, and David discuss For the Future from The Owl House. The penultimate episode of the series does a fantastic job of ratcheting up the stakes: the Hexside crew is back on the Boiling Isles, but the Collector’s star people are running around collecting everyone. And Kiki is back. But have no fear, Stringbean is here! With this mighty weapon, Luz is sure to be able to kill the Collector. (With kindness.) And Belos? Well, he won’t stand a chance, no matter who he possesses.

Episode 437: Day Off Work (from Bee and PuppyCat) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:54

GC13 and David discuss Day Off Work from Bee and PuppyCat. In this episode, it’s PuppyCat’s turn to be a gremlin who forces the plot forward with his hilarity. Instead of making Bee eat a tracking device he ends up eating it himself, letting Bee follow it to unite with everyone at the end of the episode. And the Wizard family carries on. Cas doesn’t understand face masks, Merlin has a voice, and Toast is finally hormonal—now she needs to make a pact with a demon for strength.
