Love your show, first time writer. My thoughts on “Breaking Glass” I felt like Emmas back story just rehashed what we’ve seen so many times before… She trusted someone and got hurt. It did jive well with her and reginas plot in this episode. Those two are amazing together as always!! We got to see more of Will than we’ve seen so far. His line “somebody’s already had a nibble” is one of my all time favorite lines. Sidney betrayed Regina!! Didn’t see that coming! Elizabeth Mitchell as the Snow Queen is so epic. I really feel she is already taking her place as the best villain weve had yet. Shes so quietly evil. Shes chilling!! (yea i went there) That had to be the greatest delivery of im going to build a snowman of all time!! Its nice to know a bit of her endgame, although I dont understand the mirror thing yet. Some negatives… No Rumple, it was very convenient and easy for Elsa to break out of her chains, and how did Emma just still have that camera? Snow and charmings story just seemed silly to me. Overall my least favorite episode this year but still strong simply because of Elizabeth Mitchell. 3.5/5 nibbles (arbitrary scale) —————- From Aleana My theory is what if the Snow Queen Belle mother and Anna,Elsa mother were sisters and they had this strong bond but Belle mother and Anna Elsa mother both won the princes Belle father Elsa and Anna father and they started to make their on family and unintentionally left the Snow Queen behind and the Snow Queen developed a cold heart which result in her having ice magic and because of her cold heart she curse Elsa and Anna mother by having their first born with similar ice magic and she tried to do the same with Belle mother but accidentally kill her instead so the Snow Queen went to the Apprentice for help and he gave her prophecy about Emma being the savior and order for her plan to work she needed Rumple help and because Rumple can see the future he saw the Snow Queen will ruin his plan for the Savior to break the curse and he trick her into the urn but since Hans unleash her she went back to the Apprentice and he somehow got her into the real world before all the fairytale characters and Emma got their and she waited for Emma to cross her path but something happen and she lost Emma then she found out Emma was in Maine and since I’m assuming fairytale characters could enter Storybrook whether they were curse or not she waited for everything to happen so she launch her plans so we know she wants a family what if she wanted to create the bond she had with sisters with Emma and Elsa since their powerful like her they are stronger apart but could be more stronger together ————— From Maii Honestly there’s 2 theories about Lily at the moment and I love them both.. First is: In Through The Looking Glass, when Alice first meets the White Queen and the White King, they are looking for their daughter Lily. It’s canon that Will and Anastasia are the White King and Queen….

She wore the leather dress with Walsh for that one reason: it was an extension of her armor Tonight she wore soft pink because she wanted to be close to Killian she wanted romance and love. He gave her his jacket. Because she is his girl yes and because now she had a new armor: him. Because he will protect her. And she let him in under her walls and protection The Rumpel and Hook situation (Also Rumple is enslaving Killian the same way Zelena enslaved him) Jeff’s thought – Rumpel used Hook’s love for Emma to entrap him to serve him. Hook was trying to do the right thing, but it ended up being the wrong thing at the hand of Rumpel. Now that decision can jeopardize what he’s wanted – to be with Emma. – The tape I was just thinking of something.. Killian saw Rumple “magically erasing” the tape… It might be a longshot but do you think that’s going to call back to Zelena’s murder and Gold magically erasing that tape as well? Honestly I think the hand was cursed and he did it so he could back Killian into a corner. Because Killian has changed and it’s just like Rumple to do this.. Also this is also the hand he had growing up, the hand that was a lieutenant, he was not a bad person when the hand was taken. It was afterwards that he became a villain. So yeah the hand was definitely cursed, and I think the video is definitely a fake. Look at the man’s house, it was in the middle of nowhere, I don’t really think he would have a security system, and Emma knows Killian why would he attack an innocent old man? Jeff’s thought – Maybe Hook can convince Emma to use her superpower to divine the truth from Rumpel. Anna/Rumpel Honestly I think Rumple was completely lying about the parents, I don’t think they were afraid of her or wanted to take her magic away but rather a way to control her magic. The dark one lies, the dark one tricks. I definitely think Rumple is going to or went after Kristoff because Anna didn’t specify his name and I think Rumple and the Snow Queen will team up and do something to Anna or to Kristoff to put Elsa against them, but it won’t work bc Elsa knows her sister. But I do think the Snow Queen and Rumple had a hand in Anna/Kristoff being missing while Elsa got trapped in the urn. More Parallels The Missing Year my friend, AKA when Hook lost his love by being transported against his will into another realm, shortly after getting hope for a happy ending with her. Why didn’t Marshmellow knocking out lines in the city cause a blackout, why did turning a pump on restore power without fixing the lines broken by the wall, etc. Marshmellow attacked during the day, so while some places did lose power there wouldn’t be a noticeable blackout. The power line that was knocked down by the ice wall was the main supply line coming from the power plant that the town gets it’s power from Snow turned on a backup generator (which is why fuel was needed and wasn’t already loaded into the system) which supplied emergency backup power to the town while they’re unable to get power from the main power station outside town. This might be something people who have the experience I do would think about (I’ve worked in a building where I needed to know how the generators functioned in case of power loss.) but I found it completely logical and made sense in the show. Jeff SLC, UT (We met at Friends of the Magic this year.) ———— From Aleana This was a great episode love the scenes with Elsa and Kristoff they are growing on me like Henry and Regina scene and they teaming up to find author of the book like the advice Dr.Hopper gave Snow basically like every scenes expect Emma and Hook in my opinion I will never like this pairing have to say I’m going to like Will Scarlet aka Kanve on here I knew my theory was right that the Snow Queen is connected to Emma past and Rumple know it’s can’t wait to see how this storyline plays out I do think the Snow Queen is the reason why Snow was born in the hardest of winter look forward to listening ———– From Catie Colleen and Jeff, I’m a relatively new listener (within the last year) and I’ve always wanted to write in, but never really got around to it. Well, here are my thoughts! Again with the lost memories??? This is literally the problem with every curse. Which is maybe the point, but also kind of repetitive. I was re-watching the episode where Belle and Neal bring Rumple back from the dead and I noticed that the way he rises from black goo (whatever that is) looks the same as the way Elsa rises from blue goo and how the Snow Queen rises from gold goo after being in the urn. It makes sense that the Snow Queen and Elsa come out of the urn similarly, but I wonder if there is a connection to Rumple’s “rebirth”. Also, I wonder if the colors of the goo mean something… When Snow is holding the town meeting, she reminded me of the Statue of Liberty. She was holding a baby instead of a tablet and a meeting agenda instead of a torch, but I still saw a resemblance. I did some research, and the torch is supposed to symbolize peace and progress and the tablet is supposed to represent law. I feel like the baby and the meeting agenda, along with Snow’s personality, cover these areas as well: peace, law, and progress. It’s interesting that Rumple and Belle are together; Belle is the most incorruptible person ever, whereas Rumple strays down the wrong path constantly. I guess they complete each other, but personally, I think Belle deserves SO much better. (Not to say that I don’t love their relationship.) What will Hook have to give up for his hand? Magic always comes with a price… Gold tried to take the high road and be good, and his son died. So,

Sheriff’s exterior wall ‘story front’ built in the parking lot behind the Purbeck building. Also it looked like Pajos Fish & Chip (floating dock on the waterfront) had become Storybrooke Fish & Chips and around the same time, there was filming inside Tapenade Bistro … you may recognize the interior if it made the cut. At least some of the filming of the Cedar Cove series is filmed in North Vancouver’s Deep Cove area (same cove where Grumpy had his sailboat moored). Honeymoon house (Rumple & Belle) .. looks a lot like the Cecil Green House on the University of British Columbia campus. Attached pictures for your judgement. Here’s a picture of ‘Any Given Sundae’ taken mid-July …. as you can see through the doorway that it’s still being used as prop storage as was the case when it was the ‘Storybrooke Pet Shelter’. The ‘Chop Shop’ is right next to the ‘Duperre & Hughes’ law office (a Japanese fusion restaurant in real life & formerly the ‘Tandoori’ East Indian restaurant) . The ‘Chop Shop’ is signage only as the doorway leads inside to several separate offices, one being a dentist so maybe aptly named. The usual buildings have been changed along with the Storybrooke Cannery making an infrequent appearance. We noticed a large ‘for sale’ sign for the building housing Granny’s Diner … interested? I think it’s a heritage building so not much can be changed to the exterior of it. Note: Snow seemed to have a connection with birds, but not all animals like in the animated feature. There was a Raven in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in the Witches laboratory, but the Raven seems to be more like the Raven in Sleeping Beauty. The last time we’ve seen a bird carrying a message was a carrier pigeon (7:15AM). Emma’s wearing a tan leather jacket and wearing a radio. Remember the radio she shared with Henry. BP is the most powerful warlord (Oriental term ala Star Wars) in the region. Anna now is pulled into David’s quest. BP’s army? Sheep? Good to hear you two at it “Once” again!! Loved the opening episode, and I had a few thoughts to share with you. (1) Funny, Jeff, that you thought Grumpy was Han Solo from a line of dialogue. I thought of him for a different reason. . . . . both characters were at some point “frozen” (ice, and carbonite!!). (2) Yeah, you’re right, “pimp w/o a limp” dropping the needle, instead of spinning straw into gold, he’s now spinning records!! BTW, Colleen, my kids thought of Mary Poppins as well with the snapping of the fingers! Had a question about that scene, was that the first time on the show that a music theme was directly lifted from the animated movie? I don’t remember hearing “You can fly” when Henry and Pan flew, or “When you wish upon a star” before “Blue” descends to grant a wish. (3) Also from the Rum/Belle scene, Mr. Gold was as smooth as a certain Star Wars character, “Well what have we HERE?? I’m Lando Calrissian, administrator of this facility, and who might YOU be?”

A lot like Star Wars, except for the “in a galaxy far, far, away” part. The Queen put a note in the bottle. What does the note say? Does it clarify what was in the diary/ Elsa finally allowed Anna to marry Kristoff. Elsa isn’t entirely happy about it, but she is allowing it. Who is on the Storybrooke Beautification Society? Mice? Fairies? Helpful animals in a forest? The discussion between Emma, doing the “right” thing of saving a life and how it effects Regina. Decision can have ripple effects on other people, good or bad. Even though Regina has made strides to be good and to be a hero, she still pays for the mistakes of the past. It’s similar to someone with a drinking problem making good choices now, then someone who hasn’t been around them during their time of making good choices, the person trying to be better is still know as the person with the problem by someone who hasn’t been around them lately. When situations like Marion calling her a “monster” happen, it can make you not want to try to make good decisions to do better, because you will always be know by what you’ve done, not what you are doing (better) now. Robin is in a tough spot, between being in love with Regina and following the vow of marriage to his (now alive) wife and the code of trying to be a noble person. We discuss the difference of how viewers of Once Upon a Time recated to David Nolan’s actions with Mary Margaret in season 1 and Robin’s actions now. Except for Robin, no one stood up for the new Regina to Marion. Charming, Emma, Henry didn’t. Snow was concerned for her, but didn’t stand up for her to Marion. It’s good to have a designated driver when you’ve been drinking, but be wary of a “sleepy” designated driver. Why didn’t Elsa find the book in the attic desk before? It appears she searched and found their Mother’s dress? Was the previous Queen of Arendelle, Elsa’s Mother or was she the adoptive Mother of Elsa? Was Elsa’s real Mother the White Witch from Narnia? Elsa still hasn’t learned to control her power, fear still causes it to react with her. Elsa read too much into the entry in her Mother’s diary. Do you have to own the discs of Once Upon a Time? Can’t you just stream them? There are many ways that people can get/view/consume TV shows, but we think there is still a place to own either DVD or BluRay discs. The quality of the look of the episodes and the ownership of the episodes in either DVD or BluRay will allow you to enjoy the episodes without the worry about a legal streaming service ever removing OUAT to make room for another show. Good insights included and it was a plus to have Robert and Colin, but we wish that Robbie Kay, Rebecca Mader or others in the cast could have been included as in years past. Deleted Scenes I felt Mr. Van Winkel would have been a great scene to leave in the episode, because I want to believe that there are many fairy tale characters throughout the OUAT storyline. By leaving in this scene, you wouldn’t have to announce a new character reveal, you would know that any character is possible. There were many deleted scenes that (to me) are worth owning the discs for. Bloopers I wouldn’t consider this segment bloopers, I would consider this “the goofiest moments” of them all. Fun, but not bloopers. Wicked Villians I loved the insight into what makes a villain, or on the flip side, a hero. Peter Pan and Zelena were missing, and I felt that they should have been included, since they were central villians to the A and B arc of Season 3. Tale of Ariel This was my favorite. I enjoyed the parts of creating and bringing Ariel to ‘Once Upon a Time’. Ice Worker’s intro great peek into the Norwegian life and the background of Kristoff and Sven, also giving clues to the story we will see. Ice layer – breaking through. The two layers. People have use for the ice, if it’s controlled and cut to manageable pieces. The song alludes to the land’s frozen heart worth mining. Ice has magic (To preserve, stop time of decay), the song says. Watch your step, let it go! Stronger than 100 men. The little Anna and Elsa are so cute. Little Anna reminded me of Agnes in Despicable Me. Anna knows just how to get Elsa out of bed. The empty hall became a playroom with Elsa’s ice magic. We see Olaf for the first time. We see bits of situations we will see later; Anna sliding down snowy hills, falling into snow, going from one snowy hill to another, then when Elsa slipped and couldn’t magically build a snow hill for her to land on, she quickly show an ice bolt at Anna and injured her. The hair color change is a physical sign of something deeper changing. It’s interesting that the King knew exactly what to do and where to go. OUAT bit: The floor that the map landed on looked like the floor in Rumpel’s study. He had a book and a map to go to the trolls. Had he gone there before? Why? With who? The King mentioned that Elsa was born with the power. OUAT bit: Pabbie removed all memories of Elsa’s magic, and only leave the fun memories. There were many potions and curses in OUAT that would block or remove certain memories. Instead of learning to control The storm scene was incredible. The stones in the burial scene reminded me of Stonehenge or rune stones. Kristoff’s Sven voice is funny Open up the gates, like Willy Wonka. All the points of most little girls; Queen, princess, coronation day, opening the gates and people from everywhere are coming to see you. Another Princess sing a song out a window. Elsa’s coronation outfit is very British. First time in forever; Anna fun expectation, Elsa anxious, worry and fear. ———————————- Big News for #Oncers that live near Orange County, California! In the opening narration, it mentioned, “Their (The King and Queen) wish was granted,” and Aurora was born. Vibrant colors Awesome 3D look to the crowd, changing the timing of each level of horses, people etc to make it look natural (That people and animals traveled at different speeds). A number of great flydowns with the multiplane camera. Awesome dreamy sequences when the good fairies gave their gifts of beauty and song. Fantasia-esque (1940). Maleficent – Evil Fairy. The Queen is afraid of Maleficent, “You’re not offended?” The scepter click on the floor was weird sounding. Meriwether – A Ray of Hope. Changing death to sleep, until true love’s kiss will break the curse. The animation is a work of art. Spinning Wheel fire. Reflections in the castle. “Our magic doesn’t work that way” Even walls have ears. Like mirrors in OUAT. Turn the princess into a flower (Shadowing of Beauty and the Beast), but Maleficent will send frost. Flora’s new plan will not include magic. Adam and Eddie get the idea from this? Maleficent’s Forbidden Mountains – similar name to Tolkien’s Mount Doom. Maleficent’s goofy troops. Maleficent told her Raven to search for a maiden with lips Red as the Rose. Another tie back to Snow White?
