Trucker Attacked by Vicious Dog. This part week, before major medias broke the story. TalkCDL witnessed a story about a driver attacked by a police dog. Police tried to initially pullover a trucker without a mudflap. But it turned into a police chase, or so they say. Eventually the driver was pulled over by stop sticks. He then was given command by law enforcement thatched surrounded his big rig. He was compliant from what the video showed. The driver obeyed every command the police gave. Meanwhile the K-9 unit arrived on the scene. You could clearly hear the commanding officer say "do not release the dog while this mans hands are In the air". For some reason the K-9 officer picked the dog on the complying truck driver. This resulted in an injured trucker and a scene of pure panic. A Horrible Story. Some time ago a semi truck crossed the median on an interstate in Indiana. The truck his a college van carrying students and staff. The death of 5 people was bad enough but that isn't where the storied ended. Two young ladies and two family would have their lives changed for ever in a twist of fate from the accident. At the scene of the wreck, victims were being identified. Two girls with similar features were victims. On that crazy night, a mistake would be made that would have an impact on the girls families forever. Whitney Cerak was the student first thought to be killed in the accident. Laura VanRyn was thought to be still alive was identified as Cerak. It would be a month til the families would realize the young lady they buried was buried with the wrong name and that she was still alive. Tragedy would befall on the Vanryn family when they also found out that the young girl in the hospital they were caring for, was someone else's daughter. This may seem like something obvious but there is a growing number of drivers getting hung up on high railroad tracks. If you are pulling an RGN trailer, please know how high you can clear. If your trailer has a belly box underneath it, this also can get hung up More advice? If the railroad crossing arms have come down and are behind you and in front of you. This means you are sitting on the tracks. Put it in gear and break through the crossing arms. Better on your resume are broken cross bars than getting hit by a freight train. A Horrible Story

Just before dawn on April 22, 2015, Johnsons was driving his tractor trailer on I16 W in Georgia. When he crashed into traffic on the interstate. Killing the young ladies. Johnson took full responsibility for the tragedy saying  "I would give anything to go back and change that day. I did not intend for any of this to happen, but I accept full responsibility for it." Famous Truck Wrecks 1959 Schuylkill County. It was 1959 on route 61 north. A school bus carrying 45 students for the Blue Mountain school district was stopped. Behind the bus was a propane truck. When all of a sudden on the wet roads, a semi truck lost control when it failed to stop. It is till this day, the worst truck wreck in Schuylkill county Pennsylvania. 11 people were killed that day and 12 others were injured. Whiskey, Bullets and A Semi truck. Wow, a trucker went on a rampage recently. During a trip through Maryland, he stopped for some Jack Daniels and some ammunition. He then punched his girlfriend in the face and shot at a few passing cars. If that wasn't enough, he then shot at a few workers and took off without her. Police caught cpm with him and now he is in the slammer. It's gonna be a long time till this nutmeg see the light of day. New Way Truckers Can Protect Themselves. Just in, truckers can now sign up for free alerts from PSP. A tuck driver can now see his personal report as it changes. This includes a moving violation or even a warning that has been added by law enforcement. This can be good or bad for each trucker. Depending on what has been added to this report, it can be to a truck drivers advantage. To find out what your PSP report says, click here and log in. Hiding your work history is getting harder and harder for truckers who have been terminated bye their employer. Many truck drivers omit certain carriers when filling out a driver application. This no longer works if a driver has been inspected while operating said companies truck. Don't Leave Home Upset or Fighting. If you ask Anny, she will tell you why it is important to leave home on a good note. She will also tell you why she says that. You just never know if you will see each other again. Many people this past year lost someone they love. Unfortunately they were fighting and walked away on a bad note. Only to find out they other half died before they could apologize. This is something very hard to live down. Most people will be sad the rest of their lives. 2 arrested after their semi was hit by train Two men were arrested after a train cut their trailer in half. They were not arrested because of the accident but because drugs were found in their cab. Ironically the drugs were pot and magic mushroom. This might explain why they forgot to wind the landing gear up which caught the tracks, causing them to be stuck. At least that's what it appears they did. They are coming to take your jobs. make no mistake about it, the big trucking companies in this country will eliminate your job. In an article this week in Transport Topics, the state of Texas has become a haven for automous semi truck manufacturers. The article mentioned that autonomous trucks have a human operator in the moving vehicle. It also said "In the not-too-distant future, that will no longer be the case." Meanwhile in a different article that is fighting for all semi trucks to have a human operator, a group of 55 businesses signed a letter or position that opposes Californias attempt to keep truckers in the cab. Be Careful Cops Can Keep Your Cash. Some time back a trucker was pulled over by the police. He was on his way from Louisiana to Texas. He claims he was on his way to buy a semi truck. In doing so he had brought a large amount of cash with him. Notice I said Large amount. In route he was pulled over and searched. Law enforcement did not believe his story and how he came across the large amount of money. The money was confiscated. Flash forward to a courts decision. Meanwhile in the same week in Massachusetts, another trucker was weighed at 117,000 pounds. Over weight driving is dangerous and can cost big fines and a loss of a Lisence.

Scams Played On Truckers. When truckers are out on the road working. They are more venerable than when they are at home. Scammers will target people that look like they are not from the local area.his is why we decided to talk about the dangers of scams targeting truckers. So, this past week I read an article on how 7 men scammed truckers across Pennsylvania. There are some scams that have been going around for decades. One of those scams is the fake lottery ticket scam. A person will have a ticket printed legally at a place where the tickets are sold. The ticket will match the winning numbers from yesterday. They will then approach someone telling them that they won the lottery yesterday. They will then tell that person they do not have I.D. to claim the prize. Then they make an offer to the victim. "Pay me half the value" and I will give you the ticket to go claim for yourself. In the end the person loses and the scammer has your money.
