The Ice Pick Bandit. He is real and he is out there. The ice truck bandit, as he is called, is on the loose popping tires. He has struck from Kentucky to Florida. The hard part is getting a job in the industry. It's not that carriers don't want the ladies, it's the lack of trainers that want to help. Ladies make up less than 5 percent of truck drivers in the country. Not many men want to train a woman. For reasons that are obvious. Sexual harassment allegations tend to scare most men away from sharing a semi-cab with the opposite sex. Not to mention, most men are married and have a lady of their own at home. The wives also give residence to their husbands spending 24/7 with a strange woman in the truck. It's just not going to happen. So what is a solution? How can this issue be fixed. This time last year there was hundreds of jobs in each city daily, now the average posting is 10 to 40 jobs per city per day. Everyone gets paid. Trucker In Maryland arrested when Cops Found Body A truck driver was arrested after a small chase at a Cosco Distribution center this past weekend. An anonymous called reported a trucker that appeared to be under the influence. When police arrived to the distribution center the trucker became defensive and took off in his semi truck. He did not get very far being the police had put stop sticks down and the trucker ran them over, flattening his tires. What happens to the FMCSA if the government shuts down The answer is nothing. If You Believe The Rich Man. Did you know that autonomous trucks are a real thing? They are putting in self operating fuel stops for driverless semi trucks. Of course there is a driver in the truck. A driver that is helping take away future jobs of other truckers. It's no different than the kiosks at McDonald's. You walk in for a Big Mac and Fries and you put the order in yourself. By the way, McDonald's had their workers training customers for the first so many year on how to place order. In a sense they were training customers to do their very own job. Go figure. This is the way of the rich man. He will stop at nothing to make his profit. Even if it means getting rid of human workers. Everyone gets paid. Trucker Runs Over Man Sleeping Under His Parked Rig A truck driver parked in Nashville Tennessee, accidentally killed a man when his semi truck ran over him. The driver who is not named, was parked in Nashville in the early hours of the morning. He pulled out and said he felt a bump. After getting to investigate, he discovered a man diseased under his truck. Opinion: A pre-trip inspection should have revealed the man sleeping under the truck. Police theorized the man crawled under the truck and did not wake up when the rig was pulling forward. This driver might be in trouble, based on whether he did or did not do his walk-around.
