We have an Okie in the house! Hollywood Housewife Laura Tremaine comes over to talk about how she started her blog, why she ended her blog, and what's next on the horizon creatively.  Plus she shares how she fell in love with her best friend and director of the Jackass movies, the competitive world of mommy blogging, and how faith affects us now versus when we were in Oklahoma.  Truly a heartfelt and real conversation between moms.

Okay it's official. I'm kind of obsessed with stand-up comedian, actress and One Funny Momma Cocoa Brown. She's a hilarious mom so obvi we are meant to be friends! She plays "Jennifer" on Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse on the OWN Network. And she just finished a great role on American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson. We chat about her comedians like Kevin Hart, Heather McDonald and JB Smoove. But more importantly, Cocoa shares how having her son changed her stand-up comedy career, how she manages to work so much and still be present in her son's life, and the importance of male role models for young boys. Also you guys. she's met Oprah! You have to listen to what Oprah said to her (I Died!) Cocoa is such a funny momma it's no wonder she's finding success as a comedian and a mom. 

I'm not sure I could cram any more topics into one episode if I tried. Seriously, I covered everything with Writer/Director Travis Oates. He's my former director from my sketch comedy days. I talked to legendary fashion designer Betsey Johnson who was there supporting her brother's company Cheeky Monkey Puffs. I talked nanny's with the Knightsbridge Nanny Agency, mom jewelry with Melissa from Tiny Tags, nutrition with Dr. Tanya Altman, and mommy mom must-haves with beauty queens and ClubMomMe. I share my latest #MIHhotline calls with you, and they are ridiculous.  Comedy writer and actress Jillian Boyd stops by to share her experiences with crowd funding for a web series called Welcome To Our Mansion, writing on the toilet, transitioning away from acting and into writing, and finding a like-minded writing partner.  Also, she brought booze!  So we had a little drink drink. AKA fun times ahead!

Comedian Laura House (Mom, Blue Collar TV, Austin Stories) is so smart and chill. Both qualities I wish I had. But since I don't I asked her to come by and drop some knowledge on the MIH listeners!  We breakdown the 2016 presidential election, how the internet has changed everything in life, the hierarchy of TV writers, white privilege, and what is so damn attractive about being in comedy.  Plus she explains why Louis C.K. called her one of his favorite comedians. Boom! How's that for droppin' knowledge!

Casting Director Dana Gergely Bowling has a passion for actors, and her family. She stops by the MIH studio to tell me about both!  She's cast hit shows for The Disney Channel like The Suite Life on Deck, Shake It Up, and A.N.T. Farm to name a few, so she's no stranger to the biz. And as a mom in Hollywood, she talks about what life is like on the other side of the camera when you have to cast a hit TV show and find balance with your family.  She shares what casting directors are really thinking when nervous actors walk into the audition room, who makes the final call when it comes to casting a role, and how you don't have to choose between having a family and a career in entertainment. Dana was so generous with her insights and I'm so thrilled to share this episode with you!

MomCave TV creator Jennifer Weedon shares how she came up with the concept behind her YouTube channel featuring snarky comedies for moms. Yes please! We also talk about why it's important for actors to create their own content, accept the fact that you may never find a balance between career and family (which is totally ok!), and how we can support each other as parents by being real and honest. 

My friend Lindsday Hollister (Pee Wee's Big Holiday, Get Smart, Blubberella)  talks with me about the changes she's seen in showbiz since moving to Hollywood. I sing the Dallas theme song again, we talk about why Hollywood is the Wild Wild West (credit to Bonnie Gillespie!), how the Kardashians ruined our careers and when we'll give up on our dreams. Stewart St. John is a writer, producer, composer and voice over artist who has created a lovable animated character...Tara Tremendous! She's an 8 year old girl, who is smart and stands up for herself against the evil "Dr. Epic". Stewart previously worked on The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, The Incredible Hulk and Sabrina the animated series. He tells me what it's like creating your own animated world, why adult animation is so popular, and how to get kids engaged in learning through music. We also chat about the competitive world of voice overs. It's a tough nut to crack!

Anna Lind Thomas is the creator of the HaHas for HooHas website and podcast.  I chat with this funny mama about creating comedy for women, our love of Sister Wives, how much sex moms are REALLY having, and finding our inner Amy Schumer. 

Jay Flats is a friend of mine. He's charming, gregarious, and is making millions of dollars in a niche he's cornered all to himself.  Okay maybe not millions, but close! He's the in-house host for the LA Kings, and does audience warm up for TV shows like The Real, American Idol, and DWTS. He also dabbles in stand up comedy and we chat about how hard it is to make it as a stand up if you do it every day, night, and in between.
