Ep. 80 Pilot Season Is Here! Do You Have What It Takes To Make It In Showbiz? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:00

Courtney Peldon from Aqua Talent has been working in Hollywood since she was a toddler. She's been on hit TV shows, and in several roles behind the camera as well. Now she's found her home as a talent agent, pitching some of the top working actors today (myself included!) She tells me how making it in Hollywood today is different than in years past. Also how social media has changed the landscape, what's different about pilot season, and why actors need to know their "place" in the pecking order. Do you know where you stand? Listen to find out! Courtney also tells me how her mindset and goals have changed since becoming a mother last year. Can you still be driven in your career and find time for family? Her answer is wonderfully fullfilling!   Don't forget to subscribe to Motherhood in Hollywood on iTunes.  Ep. 79 Finding Yourself Again After Becoming A Mother | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:00

I'm sure a lot of moms will agree that motherhood changes you. It changes your hormones, your outlook on life, and in some cases your career. For me, becoming Channing's mother changed me in ways I'm still discovering. And when I get the chance to talk to a new mom it's exciting for me to hear how their journey is unfolding. My guest this week is my friend Olivia Pearson who gave birth to her first child last August. Olivia started acting when she was a child. She loved it and was good at it. But in recent years has grown weary of the acting grind (haven't we all?) and has refocused her energy on other fulfilling things in her life. Most noticeably for me, her passion for Bernie Sanders. Olivia was an avid Bernie supporter and did everything she could to help get him elected. I wanted to know her motivation behind that, how her view of politics has changed since becoming a mother and what's been the most surprising thing she's learned so far about motherhood. Allison Munn (What I like about you, Nicky Ricky, Dicky and Dawn, One Tree Hill) is my guest this week! She gives us an inside look at what life is like as a working actress and mom of 2. There is a ton of pressure when you're a lead on a TV show, especially for women. Allison is really open about the pressure she feels AND puts on herself to look a certain way. She also feels pressure to nail every joke, which when you're in comedy, is way harder than it looks. We also talk about child care options for actresses on TV. Does everyone have a nanny?
