About 45% of Americans make resolutions. Ranking at the top is losing weight, and staying fit and healthy ranks No. 5 unfortunately, most who have resolutions like losing plenty of weight and quitting smoking are used to easy snack foods and quick rewards.  Live Chat:Honoring our Jamaican Dub Poets Mutabaruka, Oku Onuora & many others | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:56:00

The Entertainment Celebrity Link.Dub poetry is a form of performance poetry of West Indian origin, which evolved out of dub music consisting of spoken word over reggae rhythms in Jamaica in the 1970s. Unlike dee jaying (also known as toasting), which also features the use of the spoken word, the dub poet's performance is normally prepared, rather than the extemporized chat of the dancehall dee jay. In musical setting, the dub poet usually appears on stage with a band performing music specifically written to accompany each poem, rather than simply perform over the top of dub plates, or riddims, in the dancehall fashion. Musicality is built into dub poems, yet, dub poets generally perform without backing music, delivering chanted speech with pronounced rhythmic accentuation and dramatic stylization of gesture. Sometimes dub music effects, e.g. echo, reverb, are dubbed spontaneously by a poet into live versions of a poem. Many dub poets also employ call-and-response devices to Anita Stewart, original member of Jamaica's Poets In Unity     Tommy Ricketts, original member of Jamaica's Poet's In Unity     Tomlin Ellis, original member of Jamaica's Poet's In Unity     Shaka Bantuta, original member of Jamaica's Poet's In Unity     Lillian Allen,Jean "Binta" Breeze,Afua Cooper,Mighty Jah-J! the Furious George AKA George Paul Wielgus, Linton Kwesi Johnson,Yasus Afari,Ahdri Zhina Mandiela,Michael Bailey "Mbala",Mutabaruka, Oku Onuora,Royal African Soldiers, Mikey Smith, Benjamin Zephaniah,D'bi Young, No-Maddz ...(Shepherd, Creary, Gordon and Peart).  Health in your Hands:Essential oils Health in Review 2014 & look ahead for 2015 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

An essential oil is a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential oils are also known as volatile oils, ethereal oils, aetherolea, or simply as the "oil of" the plant from which they were extracted, such as oil of clove. An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant.Essential oils do not form a distinctive category for any medical, pharmacological, or culinary purpose. They are not essential for health. Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation, often by using steam. Other processes include expression or solvent extraction. They are used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and other products, for flavoring food and drink, and for adding scents to incense and household cleaning products. Essential oils have been used medicinally in history. Medical applications proposed by those who sell medicinal oils range from skin treatments to remedies for cancer and often are based solely on historical accounts of use of essential oils for these purposes. Claims for the efficacy of medical treatments, and treatment of cancers in particular, are now subject to regulation in most countries. As the use of essential oils has declined in evidence-based medicine, one must consult older textbooks for much information on their use. Interest in essential oils has revived in recent decades with the popularity of aromatherapy, a branch of alternative medicine that claims that essential oils and other aromatic compounds have curative effects. Oils are volatilized or diluted in a carrier oil and used in massage, diffused in the air by a nebulizer, heated over a candle flame, or burned as incense.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_oil. www.crsradio.com 661-467-2407

I was just thinking...Why was European Christianity Necessary? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

Some say all we have is now and history does not matter. At least that’s what the new age gurus are proclaiming, just ask Oprah! "…but History is necessary to understand our now and our future. If you do not know and understand history it’s as if you were born yesterday…" and that can be a dangerous thing. We live in a contrived world…contrived by the powers that be in their pursuit for total control over the many.  But for the plan to work, we have to believe they are the best controllers, we have to believe the lie. We are asleep and what has lulled us more than any other narcotic is organized Europeanized religion in all its forms.  With God on their side they have hypnotized the world into thinking a lie is the truth and the truth does not exist. But Truth crushed to the earth will rise again and each stone that is being dug up and turned over has an African name on it.

The instant you write or record an original song, be it on a cocktail napkin or sing it into your iPhone, you get six exclusive legal copyrights as granted by the government. These six legal copyrights (in no particular order) are: Reproduction Derivatives Public Display Public Performance Distribution Digital Transmission - Note that there are typically two copyrights that must be addressed when a work is sampled (and thus two copyright holders from whom you must get permission in order to avoid infringing): 1. The copyright to the song itself – the © 2. The copyright to the version of the song (i.e. the master) – the ? - There are three dominant ones in the United States: ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Each does the same thing: they act on behalf of the songwriters who have affiliated with them, and issue licenses to those who wish to broadcast (i.e. publicly perform) these artists’ copyrighted songs. -  See more at: http://amarudontv.com/2011/11/23/the-six-exclusive-copyrights-that-drive-the-entire-music-business-how-not-to-get-screwed/#sthash.SnSgTyvw.dpuf caribbeanradioshow@gmail.com www.crsradio.som call in 661-467-2407

Live: Who Will I be in 2015...What World will we be living in 2015 In 2015, Google will undergo a series of changes to accommodate spoken search queries; the kind of queries that people speak into their phones using Google’s app, or Apple’s Siri. Spoken search queries are quite different from typed search queries, so Google’s algorithm will need to understand the difference and display relevant results accordingly. Video trumps photo If a picture is worth a thousand words, imagine how much a video is worth. Brands and users alike are gravitating more toward video content. This year the paradigm has changed as, for the first time. Pages are posting more native Facebook videos rather than YouTube videos on Facebook. Facebook is carving out their own share of the YouTube audience – a trend that will continue and grow in 2015.  Live: Celebrating the memory of Jamaica's Reggae Icon Barbara Jones | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:31:00

Jamaican Diva Barbara Jones Dies at the Age of 62 Jamaican Diva Barbara Jones died last Friday at the age of 62 in Kingston Jamaica. Her soul influenced reggae ballads propelled her to popularity in the seventies along with Judy Mowatt and Pam Hall. Jones was born Barbara Nation in Kingston but grew up in Manchester, a rural parish located in central Jamaica. She began her musical career cutting a cover of American country singer Sue Thompson’s Sad Movies with the Soul Syndicate Band for Randy’s Records. Most of her popular songs included, Evie Sands’ Angel in The Morning and Walk through This World with Me, originally done by Englebert Humperdinck and Dream Lover. Jones toured with Jimmy Cliff as a backup singer, before giving up secular music in the early 1980s. She became a Christian and eventually recorded four gospel albums. In May, Jones returned to her reggae roots by doing two shows in Brazil along with bassist/singer Lloyd Parks. They did shows in the cities of Teresina and Belem. Jones was shocked she had fans in Brazil, a vibrant market for so-called vintage reggae. “I didn’t know my songs were so popular there. People always told me, I should go to Brazil as they love me there,” she told the Jamaica Observer during an interview after her return. Barbara Jones is survived by her husband, three children and three grandchildren. The thanksgiving service for her life is scheduled for the Gregory Park Baptist Church on January 10.
