He said: "History is a clock that people use to tell their time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are, but more importantly, what they must be." We must remember the ancestors and listen to thier words of wisdom...Please enjoy!  New Years Resolution:Commit to self-love,before giving your love away. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:00

Enjoy self-love, before giving your love away. •          What is self-love? •          How does one attain self-love? •          Who is responsible for self-love? •          When do you give self-love? •          Why do you need self-love? Eartha Kitt says: "It’s all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self-love deficit.” On today’s show, we will take a look at this often talked about term “self-love.” It is often the case that we give ourselves away before giving ourselves to our selves. It is healthier to connect with and love self before sharing one’s self with another. Self-love fosters a more healthy connection with someone else. I often say to clients: “you can’t give what you don’t have.” So, I encourage us to “enjoy self-love before giving love away.” Please join us today as we talk about the importance of loving yourself before seeking love and expecting another person to love you

Live: Your Health In Your Hands ...the Spirituality of Essential oils | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:00

An essential oil is a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential oils are also known as volatile oils, ethereal oils, aetherolea, or simply as the "oil of" the plant from which they were extracted, such as oil of clove. An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant.Essential oils do not form a distinctive category for any medical, pharmacological, or culinary purpose. They are not essential for health. Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation, often by using steam. Other processes include expression or solvent extraction. They are used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and other products, for flavoring food and drink, and for adding scents to incense and household cleaning products. Essential oils have been used medicinally in history. Medical applications proposed by those who sell medicinal oils range from skin treatments to remedies for cancer and often are based solely on historical accounts of use of essential oils for these purposes. Claims for the efficacy of medical treatments, and treatment of cancers in particular, are now subject to regulation in most countries. As the use of essential oils has declined in evidence-based medicine, one must consult older textbooks for much information on their use. Interest in essential oils has revived in recent decades with the popularity of aromatherapy, a branch of alternative medicine that claims that essential oils and other aromatic compounds have curative effects. Oils are volatilized or diluted in a carrier oil and used in massage, diffused in the air by a nebulizer, heated over a candle flame, or burned as incense.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_oil. www.crsradio.com 661-467-2407

I was just thinking...Money! Wealth, Riches and Prosperity. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:03:00

The differences between riches, wealth, and prosperity. Black Friday came and went I the midst of protests from the injustices perpetuated on black people in general and black men in particular. Protests were held at Malls and department stores and there was an attempt to protest the Thanksgiving Day parade…and believe it or not it worked! The projected profits from black Friday fell 11% and sent the stock markets reeling.  Most of it was black dollars the buying power that has been underestimated in the system [and you know when I say the system it is the system of white supremacy and its economic component] and misunderstood by our community. “In 2014, $50.9 billion was spent during the 4-day Black Friday weekend, down 11% from last year. While approximately 133 million U.S. consumers shopped during the same period, down 5.2% from last year's 141 million.” I have to see numbers on paper to understand the power we have as black consumers because we have been told so many times that our black dollars are useless. But the Nielsen and the National Newspaper Publishers Association writes this: “Black buying power continues to increase. It is currently $1 trillion, but is forecast to increase up to $1.3 trillion by 2017. Population growth and increased educational attainment are key factors in the uptick in Black consumer power according to the “Resilient, Receptive and Relevant African-American Consumer 2013 Report.” Lasana K. Mack, founder and executive director of APPEAL, Inc., based in Washington, D.C. “We should begin to spend a substantial portion of those dollars with Black-owned businesses; we should be depositing substantial amounts of those dollars in Black-owned banks.”

Guest:David Desamour- Dealing with Grief and Loss during the holidays.Desired outcome for the program- Provide listeners with a blueprint to understand, cope, and overcome grief when dealing with the loss of a love one during the holidays.Myth and Fact about grief MYTH: The pain will go away faster if you ignore it.Fact: Trying to ignore your pain or keep it from surfacing will only make it worse in the long run. For real healing it is necessary to face your grief and actively deal with it. Myth It’s important to be “be strong” in the face of loss.Fact: Feeling sad, frightened, or lonely is a normal reaction to loss. Crying doesn’t mean you are weak. You don’t need to “protect” your family or friends by putting on a brave front. Showing your true feelings can help them and you.MYTH: If you don’t cry, it means you aren’t sorry about the loss. Fact: Crying is a normal response to sadness, but it’s not the only one. Those who don’t cry may feel the pain just as deeply as others. They may simply have other ways of showing it.MYTH: Grief should last about a year.Fact: There is no right or wrong time frame for grieving. How long it takes can differ from person to person.Source: Center for Grief and Healing :Understanding and coping Stages of Grief:In 1969, psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross introduced what became known as the “five stages of grief.”The five stages of grief:Denial: “This can’t be happening to me.”Anger: “Why is this happening? Who is to blame?”Bargaining: “Make this not happen, and in return I will .”Depression: “I’m too sad to do anything.”Acceptance: “I’m at peace with what happened.”Steps in overcoming grief!
