Deejay (alternatively spelled DJ) is a term in Jamaican music for a reggae or dancehall musician who sings and "toasts" to an instrumental riddim. Deejays are not to be confused with disc jockeys from other music genres like hip-hop, where they select and play music. Dancehall/reggae DJs who select riddims to play are called selectors. Deejays who are more likely to sing are sometimes called singjays. The term deejay came about as a result of the act of some selectors (as they were called) of the 60s and 70s such as U-Roy or King Stitt toasting to the version side of popular records of the time. The version came about when the record company produced the 45 record with the song, the flip side of which had the instrumental version of the song. This gave the deejays the chance to make up on-the-fly lyrics to the instrumental music. This occurrence gave rise to deejay toasting and the term has been used in that context ever since.

Claims for the efficacy of medical treatments, and treatment of cancers in particular, are now subject to regulation in most countries.As the use of essential oils has declined in evidence-based medicine, one must consult older textbooks for much information on their use. Interest in essential oils has revived in recent decades with the popularity of aromatherapy, a branch of alternative medicine that claims that essential oils and other aromatic compounds have curative effects. We’ve talked with Marsha Stewart-Sanders educator and historian about the first Black president Warren G. Harding, the current conflicts in the city of Detroit, the Africans that wrote the Bible, and the original indigenous people of the Americas. We have discussed topics from global warming to genetic engineering, mind control and technology to political and racial unrest. And in the coming weeks we will look behind the curtain of  global terrorism and the real men behind the mask. But now... Living Truth Creates A Musical icon of Reggae Music. Living Truth career spans 3 decades, a multi-talented reggae artist, Leroy "Living Truth" Ridgway, a name which is self-explanatory, defines the artist's persona, his lyrical content and his commitment to awaken his people through conscious lyrics  Truth hails from f Westmoreland Jamaica. His first taste of stardom was church choir. At the age of 16 Ridgway entered a talent show in May Pen  and placed 3rd with  "Red Sun",  a song he composed . Living Truth auditioned for , Bunny Lee of the Federal Studios.  Lee encouraged Living Truth to record "Dreadlocks Man", a song which went on to enjoy appreciable chart success . Living Truth immigrated to the United States 1977-80, he entered several  competitions in the New York won 1st place with "Write It Down" and "Come One Come All" 2nd place with "Ring the Freedom Bell" in the New York Reggae Festival and song competition. Education in the 21st Century Dr. Amos N. Wilson (September 19, 1941 – January 14, 1995) was a pioneering American African psychologist, social theorist, Pan-African thinker, scholar and author. Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1941, Wilson completed his undergraduate degree at the acclaimed Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, mastered at The New School of Social Research, and attained his doctorate degree from Fordham University. Wilson understood and taught the power differential between Africans and non-Africans is the major social problem of the Twenty-First century. He taught this power differential, and white “racist” attitudes, as principally responsible for the existence of racism, domination, oppression, and deprivation in the lives and interpersonal relations of American Africans, Continental Africans and other Diasporic Africans. “When we get into social amnesia - into forgetting our history - we also forget or misinterpret the history and motives of others as well as our motives. The way to learn of our own creation, how we came to be what we are, is getting to know ourselves. It is through getting to know the self intimately that we get to know the forces that shaped us as a self. Therefore, knowing the self becomes a knowledge of the world. A deep study of Black History is the most profound way to learn about the psychology of Europeans and to understand the psychology that flows from their history. If we don't know ourselves, not only are we a puzzle to ourselves; other people are also a puzzle to us as well. We assume the wrong identity and identify ourselves with our enemies.
