 DC 99 – Chatter Of The Oil | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:49

Friday rolls around again, and so does another episode of DC! Number 99, the last of the double-digit shows, is now online! This week starts with a look at some cards from New Phyrexia that people seem to be talking about, not just in Standard but other formats, too. I also go over some combos with these cards in current Standard as well as a nifty EDH combo I saw earlier in the week. After that is a look at the newly-announced NPH Event Decks and the impact they might have on card prices. As always your feedback is always welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, and don’t forget the DC Forums are in the usual place for public discussion of things Magic and not Magic. The Romans would approve. DC is also hanging on to the social threads at Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr, and don’t forget you can send in audio for the show (comments, questions, shoutouts etc.) to audio@deckconstruct.com via Vocaroo.com or WeTransfer.  DC 98 – The Case Of The Missing Pre-Release | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:05

The scene: present-day London. The day: Friday. The podcast: DC 98! This week kicks off with a recap of the SOM/NPH sealed event we had at Richmond on Wednesday May 11. This event replaced the pre-release which was supposed to happen on May 8 but didn’t because apparently DPD is all that good at shipping Magic product! After that is the first ever listener question on DeckConstruct! A mystery listener from NYC has a question about the CounterTop combo, and I do my best to answer. Finally, I talk a bit about Block Constructed and Extended coming to an FNM near you! As always I’d love to hear from you at show@deckconstruct.com, and why not saunter over to the DC forums to have a bit of a chinwag about Magic. You’ll also find DC on the usual social media water coolers that are Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.  DC 97 – Grand Prix London | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:20

It’s Friday, the weather still doesn’t know what mood it’s in, and DC 97 is ready for release! This week the show is all about GP London, a rather large Magic bash that took place last weekend. The first part is about my experiences of day 1 of the GP, the Saturday. After that, it’s time to focus on the Legacy event on the Sunday. This was a fun event, but one that convinced me that Wizards Event Reporter is the software equivalent of a goblin with a litre of petrol and a box of matches. As always, your electronic words are always welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, or why not hit up the DC Forums for public discussion of Magic and no-Magic topics. You’ll also find DC flinging words around on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. Also, don’t forget you can record a question, shoutout or comment to be featured on the podcast, using Vocaroo.com or WeTransfer. Check out the outro for details.  DC 96 – Reconstructing The Robots | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:02

It’s Thursday, and DC 96 is out a day early. I blame lack of procrastination! This week’s show is about Affinity, past, present and future. To start off with I look at Affinity’s past including early versions of the deck and how it terrorised Standard for so long. After that I look at present-day versions of the deck and also at challenges that Affinity faces as New Phyrexia rolls into various formats. I talk about my build which I’ll play at the Legacy event at GP London, and about how Affinity has reconfigured itself to be competitive in Legacy today. Your comments, questions and suggestions are welcome as always at show@deckconstruct.com, or head over to the DC Forums for public discussion about all things MTG and not MTG. You’ll also find DC creeping ninja-like around the social hallways that are Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.  DC 95 – Uncommonly Phyrexian | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:13

Friday is here once again with its usual regularity, and that means another episode of DC is ready to go out! This week’s show is a bit shorter than usual for various reasons, but normal length will continue next week. Earlier in the week there was a huge leak of the next set, New Phyrexia. Every card in the set was spoiled, and I noticed five uncommons that will make an impact in some way in almost every format. In this week’s show I talk about those uncommons. As always your feedback is highly appreciated at show@deckconstruct.com, or why not hit the DC Forums, which are open for posting and reading business as usual? DC is also still hanging around on the social tubes they call Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. Thanks for listening! - DC For Science!  DC 94 – Sculpting Tournaments | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:06

Another Friday rolls around in the big city, and it’s time for another instalment of DC! This week’s show begins with a look at Jace 2.0. He was a hot topic over this past week and stirred quite a lot of debate after managing to replicate himself 32 times in the GP Dallas top 8! After that is a look at the announcement Wizards made yesterday regarding tournament Magic in 2012. Quite a few changes are coming down the pipe! As always, your comments, thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated at show@deckconstruct.com (or just hit Contact in the site menu). The DC Forums are also kicking around as always.  DC 93 – Nationals Qualifier and M-T-G | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:07

London’s getting some great weather right now, which makes today an even better time to release show 93! This week’s show begins with a recap of the Nationals Qualifier at Richmond last weekend. I talk about the deck I played, what I would change if I were to play it again, and how I did at the event. After that I talk about M-T-G, a mental technique I used to help me focus at the NQ and play a bit better than usual. As always, your electronically transmitted words are extremely welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, and the DC Forums are in the usual neck of the woods, offering a place to talk about Magic, much like a pub, but electronic. DC is also among the social hubs that are Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.  DC 92 – New Phyrexia And The Legacy Of Duals | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:05

It’s Friday, a day on which, according to Rebecca Black, you should get down on. Indeed. Anyway, as it’s Friday, DC 92 is out! This week show kicks off with a look at some topics that made news over the past week. The Action set finally got a name and new promo cards were shown off for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. I’m not sure that I’ll always do a “news bit” like this, but this week it made sense. After that is some discussion of Legacy, specifically the Richmond Legacy League and the discussion of dual lands that raged over Twitter a few days ago. As always I’d love to hear from you at show@deckconstruct.com, and check out the DC Forums with its shiny new makeover!  DC 91 – Catchup, Current Standard | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:31

Welcome to DeckConstruct series 8! New series, new music and new focus. This series will mainly cover Legacy, Casual and Pauper, but this week it covers none of those. To kick off, I do the traditional catchup in which I talk about a few things that have happened since the last show, and go over the direction that DC will take in this series. Afterwards, I put a few Standard decks under the spotlight. Standard isn’t all about Caw-Blade, and so I talk about a few decks from the recent SCG Open in Dallas. As always your words are very much appreciated at show@deckconstruct.com (or hit the Contact link in the menu). The DC Forums are also a great place for any words you’d like to say in public!  DC 90 – Mirrodin Besieged Pre-release, Magic Poker | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:32

It’s Friday once again, and show 90, the final show of series 7, is ready to go! This weeks kicks off with a recap and some thoughts on the Mirrodin Besieged pre-release at Richmond, which took place on January 29th 2011. I also share some thoughts on faction packs and how well they worked. After that is a look at a new Magic variant called Magic Poker. A friend came up with this and I’ve finally got around to featuring it on the show! Thanks, Paul, for the excellent idea! As always the inbox at show@deckconstruct.com is waiting for your email, should you have any feedback on or suggestions for the podcast, or opinions on what makes for a great sponge cake. Also, check out the DC Forums which lack sponge cake discussion, but feature some great MTG discussion! You’ll also find DC chattering, socially, among the drinks holders they call Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. Thanks for listening, for subscribing (if you do), and for waiting (if you did) between shows 88 and 89!  DC 89 – It’s Been A While! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:25

It’s Friday, it’s cold, and… wait, a DC show is ready to go up? What is this fresh heresy? Well, rumours of DC’s death have been greatly exaggerated and show 89 is ready to reach ears! The delay between show 88 and 89 was caused by a few factors, and in the first segment I discuss what those were. After that, I talk about some Mirrodin Besieged cards that leapt out at me from the full spoiler released this weekend. I haven’t really kept up with the spoiler season, but had a look at the spoiler and some cards seemed quite good. Your personal words are as always welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, or why not hang out at the DC Forums and start a discussion there?  DC 88 – Making An MTG Podcast Part 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:01

Recently, there has been a lack of show where DC is concerned. Once again, it’s simply because I’ve been busy and not been able to get in front of a recording diaphragm to record the show. So, I’ve decided to catch up a bit! In the last part of Making An MTG Podcast, back when it was still a standalone show, there was a lot of stuff I didn’t talk about, either because it was a bit too advanced or just because I forgot to talk about it! So in this show, I talk about those things I missed, as well as other topics such as recording techniques and plugin stacking (nothing to do with spell stacking, that’s for sure!) As always, please feel free to get in touch at show@deckconstruct.com, or hit the DC Forums and speak your brains! You’ll also find DC on the social cupboard on the coathangers know as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.  DC 87 – You’re Killing Me, Smalls! (Magic Questions Answered) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:33

It’s Friday and, much like the Autobots, DC 87 is ready to roll out! This week’s show features questions submitted by listeners to the show. You might remember than in show 86 I asked for one question that you most want answered in simple terms – plain English. There was a great response, and thank you for sending your questions! The questions range to rules-based to story-based, and I even tackle what is usually a scary rules subject. As always you can get in touch at show@deckconstruct.com.  DC 86 – The Magic Internet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:56

It’s been a while since the last show! I’ve been caught up in a lot of stuff over the past couple of weeks, and would like to apologise for the gap between show 85 and 86. However, show 86 is now ready to go! This show is about the online Magic community. In recent times, many new video shows, websites and podcasts have appeared, and in the show I go over what has fuelled this. Towards the end, I also ask for your help for show 87!  DC 85 – October 2010 WPN Changes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 22:44

It has got a lot colder in London over the past week, but luckily not so cold that show 85 couldn’t be recorded! This week's show is about the changes recently announced by Wizards of the Coast regarding the Wizards Play Network (WPN). In the first half, I go over what the changes are and how they will affect TOs around the world. You'll also hear an interview with Sabina, TO at the Richmond Games Club, that I did last Wednesday. She had some strong opinions on the changes! After that, I talk about what I think of the changes. As always your feedback is much appreciated at show@deckconstruct.com, and why not head to the DC Forums to discuss the WPN changes and everything else to do with Magic? You’ll also find DC in the wide and wonderful worlds of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
