Ron Paul 2012 Podcast

Congressman Ron Paul appeared on Charlie Langton's show (clearly a Santorum guy) on Talk Radio 1270 WXYT this morning of the Michigan primary, to talk about his opponents and the critical issue of birth control and contraception. The Congressman talked about the relative importance of these social issues in the midst of national bankruptcy and impending economic collapse. WXYT is a CBS station broadcast out of Detroit, MI.

Dr. Ron Paul joined Gary Allen and Steve Kelly live Tuesday on West Michigan's Morning News. The Congressman explained his stance on what he considers the major issues not being discussed and talks about how he realistically thinks he will do in Michigan (and why he's more then happy about it)! In this week's Texas Straight Talk legislative update, Rep. Ron Paul comments on the unbelievable amount of debt now owed by every American thanks to our irresponsible government (more per capita than Greece!). Just 12 hours before the polls were set to open for the 2012 presidential primary in Michigan, Ron Paul took to the stage of Dearborn's Ford Community and Performing Arts Center among a crowd of 1,200 supporters. The event, dubbed "Doctors for Dr. Ron Paul," brought together members of the University of Michigan-Dearborn's Arab Student Union, as well as current and future doctors in the community. Congressman and Presidential candidate Ron Paul shattered his already-impressive record of drawing supporters and undecided voters to his campaign events.  Today, in a phenomenon unique to the Paul campaign, the 12-term Congressman from Texas drew an impressive 4,000 supporters to a youth rally held at Michigan State University. 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul engaged voters in Detroit’s North End at an intimate town hall meeting where he discussed the rule of law and macroeconomic reforms that promise to renew Motor City, Michigan, and the nation. More than 300 church congregants and community members attended the event at the Little Rock Baptist Church, which resides within the poorest zip code in the state (a place Republican candidates are rarely seen). Thousands crowded the ballroom of Hudsonville's Pinnacle Center for a 4 p.m. appearance by GOP presidential primary candidate and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul. Limited seating quickly filled and the venue became standing room only. Supporters let out a raucous cheer when an event organizer began chanting "President Paul!" Following his remarks, Dr. Paul spent a few minutes answering questions from media. The event, which took place in metro Grand Rapids (western Michigan), was broadcast on C-Span. Don't let anyone tell you that this campaign is winding down! Virtually every campaign event Ron Paul has held in the last month has had to turn many away due to capacity crowds, and his Youth for Ron Paul rally at CMU on Saturday was no exception. The campaign reports that the Congressman drew more than 1,450 people to the military-themed Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors for Ron Paul rally at the Plachta Auditorium in Mount Pleasant, MI. This was an interesting event in comparison to the average campaign rally, including an introduction by Michigan's own Rep. Justin Amash. Hundreds gathered at the Oklahoma State Capital Saturday afternoon to support Congressman Ron Paul in his bid for the White House! The Congressman talked to enthusiastic supporters about repealing the 16th amendment, and cutting way back on the welfare/warfare state. It's been an interesting week, as we wait for a huge wave of caucuses and primaries starting off in Arizona and Michigan on Tuesday the 28th. The media largely ignored the impressive turnout by US military active duty soldiers and veterans in Washington, DC on Monday. The remaining candidates met one more time for perhaps the last debate of the cycle in Mesa, Arizona. Meanwhile, Congressman Paul has continued to crisscross the country after campaigning in the Pacific Northwest last weekend. Unfortunately, a sizable portion of the media's stingy coverage of our campaign has focused on the loose alliance between Dr. Paul and Mittens Romney, and making the relationship out to be much more significant than it is in reality. Over the last couple of months, pundits (and the neocons in particular) have pushed a conspiracy theory that asserts some kind of nefarious back-room deal between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney- a quid-pro-quo, if you will. From the perspective of the neocons, this serves to undermine both men, in favor of Santorum and/or Gingrich. There has always been a lack of enthusiasm for Mitt Romney amongst the Republican electorate- demonstrated by the various GOP flavors-of-the-month. The challenge for the talk radio mafia is to crown a neoconservative/social-con alternative, thus demonstrating their collective power within the Republican Party. We all know that Ron Paul is not only an anathema to the neoconservative narrative- he challenges their fundamental worldview! Tying the two together (to the detriment of both) is sort of a stroke of genius, considering that this supposedly sinister "alliance" is based on a thread of truth. Dr. Paul and Gov. Romney do get along personally, and their campaigns coordinate when it is mutually beneficial. I think the so-called alliance ends there. Romney is a known quantity, an establishment favorite and a moderate New England former Governor. Ron Paul has always sought to be the last anti-Romney standing, so it is to his benefit to use his campaign's resources to expose the others (rather than Romney). The trouble comes in when our people buy into this propaganda- as if Dr. Paul is in the process of selling us out (and the articles are out there!). This line of thinking can accomplish more than the neocons could ever dream (while it is clearly their ultimate goal): to destroy the Congressman's legacy into the future. Alex Jones has been about the only one out there discussing these rumors, and in my opinion, doing a good job putting them to rest. He has also been out front exposing outright voter fraud and the many irregularities in the electoral process. Ron Paul appeared on CNBC's The Kudlow Report, to talk with Larry about Rick Santorum's fake conservatism. The Congressman has absolutely denied that there is any deal for Rand Paul to run as Romney's VP. Discussion turned to the Congressman's plan for lowering taxes, dealing with high oil prices, and the Iranian threat.

Rep. Ron Paul spoke with WDIV Local 4's (NBC - Detroit, MI) Devin Scillian as part of that station's Decision 2012 effort to meet the candidates. The Congressman was asked about the obvious distinction that exists between him and the other candidates, and if it would be particularly difficult to work such an agenda within the beltway. Dr. Ron Paul sat down with Fox News Radio senior correspondent Rich Johnson for an episode of A Few Moments With ... to talk about his political journey that brought him to this battle for the 2012 Republican nomination, the issues he cares about, and his goals for the rest of the campaign. The Texas Congressman is proud of the impact he's had on the debate, saying that this is the first time in 100 years that the Federal Reserve is a major issue in the Presidential campaign!

The Republican debate last Wednesday night was perhaps the final one of the 2012 primary cycle. Although all the standard questions have been asked in triplicate by this point, at least these forums are an opportunity to remind voters that Ron Paul is indeed still in this contest (the media would just assume black him out completely). And we all know that many Paulistas have found their champion only due to his participation in these very forums! Congressman Paul did us all proud in Mesa, calling out the newest Republican flavor of the month and distinguishing himself as the only game-changer in the group.
