In this week's Texas Straight Talk update, Rep. Ron Paul talks about the pending Supreme Court decision regarding Obamacare and the individual mandate. The Congressman doubts that the Court will strike down the legislation in its entirety, reminding us of the court's long established tendency towards statism and centralized authority. Even if the mandate is ruled unconstitutional, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will likely become just another incremental step towards a single-payer health care monopoly. Ron Paul spoke with CBS' Bob Scheiffer on this Sunday's edition of Face the Nation. The Congressman stated his intention to save the GOP from itself, and wouldn't commit to supporting Mitt Romney if he is to be the party's nominee.

Coverage of the Ron Paul 2012 campaign has become a bit harder to come by over the last few weeks, as the various media outlets shift their reporters to other news. At least local affiliates continue to report on events when the Congressman comes to town. This, as we start to get a snapshot into the actual delegate counts around the country. Ron Paul has outperformed Gingrich in a majority of states, yet the media still covers the former speaker out of proportion to his electoral success. CNN streams live video from nearly all the other three candidates campaign stops, while providing no coverage of the good doctor's huge rallies. Dr. Paul continues to focus his campaign on college campuses and the hearts and minds of the next generation. Huge crowds turned out this week at the Universities of Maryland and Wisconsin- which the national press has almost completely disregarded. Huge Paul supporters like Scott Horton and Adam Kokesh have started to speak out against campaign manager Jesse Benton, and the way the well-funded operation has ultimately been run (I feel this criticism is definitely justified). Speculation has turned to the unlikely announcement of a 3rd party or independent run. One thing is for certain: if this campaign is to remain relevant, the grassroots needs a shot of adrenaline, the campaign needs to shake things up and think outside the box! Rep. Ron Paul traveled to the Wisconsin capitol of Madison on Thursday, to speak to the students of the University of Wisconsin. Between three and five thousand students (depending on the source)  and other local supporters turned out at UW-Madison's Memorial Union Terrace to listen to the good doctor's anti-war, pro civil libertarian message. The event was free and open to the university and general public, and was organized in part by organized in part by the ‘Youth for Ron Paul’ (YFP) initiative. (Audio Quality Improved 3/30) These UMD kids get it! A super-enthusiastic crowd of young supporters met Dr. Ron Paul at the University of Maryland on Wednesday night in College Park, Maryland. The Baltimore Sun reported the attendance of 1780 in the capacity audience at the Ritchie Coliseum, while hundreds more were turned away from hearing the Congressman deliver his libertarian message. On Wednesday, Rep. Ron Paul joined The Skip Mahaffey Show on Tan Talk 1340 AM (Clearwater, FL) to talk about the campaign, Obamacare, and more. Skip was joined by Mary McKenna for the entirety of the conversation with the Congressman.

Congressman Ron Paul appeared on 620 WTMJ (Milwaukee, WI) on Wednesday with host Charlie Sykes. Dr. Paul talked about his ongoing run for the White House and explains what he feels motivates young people to back him as strongly as they do. See if you catch Dr. Paul's not so subtle jab at the host when he attempts to trivialize that support.

Rep. Ron Paul returned to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to chair a meeting of the Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology Subcommittee of the House Committee on Financial Services. The hearing was held at the Rayburn House Office Building, and was entitled "Federal Reserve Aid to the Eurozone: It's Impact on the U.S. and the Dollar." Committee members had the opportunity to hear the testimony of two prominent Fed officials: Mr. William C. Dudley (President and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of New York) and Dr. Steven B. Kamin (Director, Division of International Finance, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System). Dr. Paul called for the full committee to take up full oversight of the Fed's European bailout operations. This audio contains all statements and testimony from the hearing.

Rep. Ron Paul returned to CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight on Monday, to discuss why he is continuing to run for the Republican nomination despite the seemingly long odds. Dr. Ron Paul agreed to a short interview while at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA on Friday. Because the interviewer had such a limited time with the Congressman he had to stick with the most important questions on the economy. You will hear Dr. Paul react to Laurence Kotlikoff's shortfall projection. Not too many people are familiar with this figure but you should be. What impresses the host the most is how he directly answers the questions asked of him. There is no need to pivot, deflect, sidestep or spin an answer that is informed and honest. Following his remarks at Louisiana College in Pineville, Rep. Ron Paul met the media for an impromptu press conference. The Q8A session included discussion of what separates Dr. Paul from his opponents, how he responds to charges of isolationism, abortion/contraception mandates, the rising cost of college tuition, rebuilding New Orleans and the Gulf, Coast, and more. 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted big crowds Friday at two college-campus town hall meetings in Louisiana.  More than 800 people greeted Dr. Paul at Louisiana College  in Pineville- just north of Alexandria in central Louisiana. As a comparison, Ron Paul’s rival Rick Santorum attracted 400 people to his Pineville rally, according to information provided to the Youth for Ron Paul initiative, that helped organized Dr. Paul’s Louisiana events.  The Congressman took a few questions from the audience before concluding the town hall style event. As was reported last week, these caucus fights for the unbound delegates are really starting to heat up across the country. The Ron Paul 2012 campaign delegate strategy has so far been quite effective, although there is still a long way to go. Dr. Paul took 3rd place in the Illinois primary, garnering another 85k votes, beating Newt Swingrich (while Santorum and Romney get all the delegates). The Congressman released a new ad- entitled "Etch A Sketch"- held another much needed Money Bomb, and traveled to Louisiana in advance of Saturday's caucus.
