Deadpool 2 was such a fun movie! We loved it as much as the first. The humor, the action, the superheroes and the villains… everything worked so well!
Originally aired on 8.16.18 as our tenth episode Mission Impossible: Fallout was the perfect combination of good story, awesome action and great acting. This movie delivered on all it intended to. Ethan Hunt is back and just as exciting as ever, but maybe a bit more careful now in his later years.
Captain Marvel is a good addition to the MCU. This movie's got humor and a compelling story, and Carol Danvers' origin is worth watching. We would've liked more detailed fight scenes, but really enjoyed Fury's larger role in this one. Plus, Agent Coulson!
Ant-Man and The Wasp was another fun Marvel blockbuster. The humor was spot-on and the characters were perfectly portrayed and had lots of chemistry. Great CG effects, too! We loved Luis's story telling.
Originally aired: 6.21.18 We LOVED Avengers: Infinity War. Plenty of action, great characters and story, along with lots to learn.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World was a beautifully crafted and fun final installment of the trilogy. Sky enjoyed it much more than Dusty, but both agree that the characters are compelling and the story was fun and well-paced.
Alita: Battle Angel was incredible! Best manga/movie adaptation ever. Perfect story, cool characters, amazing CG and action up the wazoo!
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part was a lot of fun for Dusty, but Sky wasn't such a fan. Dusty enjoyed how they put lots of small new tweaks to things like songs and intros that they did in part 1.
So I Married an Axe Murderer was more enjoyable for Dusty than it was for Sky. Maybe because the nostalgia brought him back to his college days watching it with buddies. Yep, probably more enjoyable watching this one with friends.
RocketMan was a laugh-out-loud riot of a movie! Neither of us remembered how good it was and Dusty actually gave it an A+! What a grade! Harland Williams is in top from as Fred Randall, and his supporting cast does a great job allowing him free reign.
Spaceballs came out when we were kids, we loved it then... and we STILL LOVE it now! Laugh out loud from the long Spaceball 1 intro to the wedding scene ending. We've changed our grading scale, and this gets an A+ from each of us (A++++ from Dusty).
Sky enjoyed Galaxy Quest a bit more than Dusty did, but we both recommend this one to the listeners. Great sci-fi action and story, tons of comedy and great performances by all! Some good lessons were learned, great props taken home and no minors/miners were harmed in the making of this episode.
Wow! Aquaman was spot on a great movie! We hope there's more greatness from DC to come. Good action, awesome special effects, cool supporting actors and a great story that progressed nicely.
Bumblebee was better than every other live-action Transformers movie that came before it, but does that make it a good movie? We enjoyed some aspects (old school look, characters, action, John Cena) but it left us rather bored and wanting more Cybertron action.
Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse blew us away! This may be the best Spider-man movie ever. It was genius how they brought together so many "new" heroes to the movie-going audience and they made it work. The story was incredible with great voice talents and surrounding everything was amazing animation that was like a comic book come to life. http://www.watchandlearnpodcast.com/pod28 https://www.facebook.com/walpodcast/ Sky Matsuhashi and Dustin Heiner
