Podcasts:
Stuber was an enjoyable buddy-cop movie that didn't bring anything new to the genre, but there's a fun chemistry between Bautista and Nanjiani that makes it worth watching.
Rush Hour was still a fun movie 21 years later, but it feels very '90's and doesn't hold up as well as we'd like. Still a fun buddy cop action-comedy worth seeing, though.
Spider-man: Far From Home was amazing! (pun intended) Great story, a cool and believable villain, tons of humor and great webbing action.
Toy Story 4 was a good *maybe* final installment in the franchise. Fun new characters and a fresh story line and lovely animation.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 was a perfect follow-up! Just as good as the first with humor, action and beautiful space landscapes. Space opera indeed!
Dark Phoenix is not the ending we wanted, but it is the ending we needed. MCU, here we come! So much to dislike about this very *meh* super hero movie.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters was such a boring and disappointing movie. We both felt the same, but the major takeaway was that Mothra made of Redbull.
The Matrix more than holds up! It remains an incredible sci-fi story full of action, cool characters with awesome code names and Agent Smith. We love it!
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum was an incredible display of action! Crazy visceral fight scenes, great stunts and a fun continuation of the Wick saga.
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best MCU movies. James Gunn shows us what a space opera can be with an incredible story and real characters that we'll never forget.
Thor: Ragnarok was a fantastic movie! We both loved the humor and the story, and Hela was a great baddie. Taika Waititi made a killer MCU debut.
Avengers: Endgame is a perfect ending to 11 years and 22 movies in the MCU. We can't imagine a more fitting ending to some of our favorite characters and a great starting off point for new stories beyond this.
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is better than the first! More laugh out loud moments and both of us realize that when we think of Ace, scenes from part 2 more readily pop to mind than part 1. We love it!
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective holds up and is still incredibly funny! This is the Jim Carey we fell in love with and it was fun revisiting this one.
Shazam! was a fun origin story with a character we knew nothing about. They nailed the humor and the humanity with this foster family turned super hero family story. Definitely a worthy inclusion in the DCEU.
