The Wrong Missy was a miss in our books. Funny at times, but a bit too much like another beloved (by Sky at least) romantic comedy we discussed, Blended. This is probably one we'll never watch again, but we had a good time discussing it.
The Princess Bride is a beloved family classic for us. We love the story and the characters and we both pray it will never be remade.
Bloodshot was mindless fun, but not something we'd recommend. Sure, you get Vin Diesel being his bad ass self, but the non-original twist villain and plot aren't worth your time.
Starship Troopers is an action/sci-fi classic and deserves to be seen by one and all! Great special effects, lots of gore and good looking soldiers are all you need (in movies and in life).
Extraction is a fast-paced, action packed, fun and violent movie. Great actors, perfect action and an amazing one-take car/gun chase makes this a Netflix movie you CANNOT miss.
Tombstone is the best western the two of us have ever seen. Great acting and action make this compelling story a true classic.
Green Street Hooligans is a violent yet compelling movie about having your friend's back and never backing down from a fight. Definitely worth watching for the story line and seeing Elijah Wood's soft character of Matt Buckner grow under the wing of Charlie Hunnam's tough-as-nails character Pete Dunham.
We loved The Naked Gun! Leslie Nielsen's comedic genius is on full display in this perfect comedy from the team that brought us Airplane!, Kentucky Fried Movie and Top Secret.
Top Secret is a visually comedic tour de force. It's a must-see comedy from the 80's (don't listen to this in the background while washing dishes). Fun characters & plot elements + Val Kilmer + visual gags = comedic genius!
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is probably the #1 80's movie we'd both recommend. Still funny with lots of heart and we picked up on so many new aspects we overlooked in all our prior viewings.
Coming to America is still a great fish-out-of-water comedy. Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall are a perfect comedic duo and we loved their multiple characters (especially Randy Watson of Sexual Chocolate and Reverend Brown).
Kingsman: The Secret Service is an awesomely fresh take on the spy genre. Firth, Egerton and Strong knocked it out of the park, as did the incredible fight scenes, cinematic visuals and fun soundtrack.
Groundhog Day is a 90's romantic comedy classic, and it's one of Bill Murray's most memorable roles. The supporting cast was perfect and it's still fun watching Murray trying to make the best of a terrible situation (and eventually succeeding).
One Cut of the Dead split the two of us in half. Dusty, not so much a fan. Me, Sky, absolutely loved it! The first act is weird, but acts two and three pay-off the entire story like none other.
Fantasy Island is a fun, not-really-horror movie. Fun actors playing relatable characters with a crazy story in a beautiful island setting... and Chastity! What's not to love?
