 Young Frankenstein Episode 98: Prepare for the transference | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:36

The monster finally makes it over the wall, stands up and has one final look of pride before collapsing. Freddy asks if everything is ready and both Igor and Inga confirm they are all set for the transference. Then Igor reminds him he could die and Dr. Frankenstein misses a note on the violin. The scene wipes and we are in the secret laboratory. Igor is above at the controls performing some kind of James Brown tribute before he yells, "Switching off!"

As the music continue, Inga finally sees the lumbering form of the monster. She cries that it's working, the music is working! Freddy continues to play the violin as the monster begins to rock climbing like Tom Cruise. Though we have some serious concerns with this minute, we still love the movie. By the time the monster reaches the top edge of the wall, Inga and Igor move to aid him. Dr. Frankenstein yells, "Don't touch him!" They both flinch and pull away.

We begin with Frankenstein's monster being lulled by the sound of music. Elizabeth wonders where he is going? She says all men are alike; 7 or 8 quick ones and they're ready to boast with the boys. She then admits she has fallen in love with him. We cut to the top wall of the castle where Dr. Frankenstein, Igor and Inga have setup an open mic night. Apparently, they have decided the best way to get control of the situation is to lure the monster back with the Transylvanian lullaby.

The minute continues with Elizabeth finishing her operatic joy. We cut to Inspector Kemp and the villagers continuing their search for the monster. We then return to the lair where the monster is seemingly no longer afraid of fire as he has lit two cigarettes. He gives one to Elizabeth. They are both quite content. As Elizabeth cuddles up to the monster, he responds with a groan. She chastises him for being incorrigible and then admits seven is her lucky number.

Elizabeth opens the minute, questioning the monster about who he is and demands to know where she is. She tries to take control of the situation. She uses the same tactics she uses on Freddy to keep him in line. However, she has met her match since the monster does not answer to her. When the monster takes her, she bellows out lines from the operetta, Naughty Marietta and we realize, even though this was one uncomfortable minute, we were able to get through it thanks to the genius of Madeline Kahn.

We continue today with Elizabeth singing the chorus to the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Suddenly, Frankenstein's monster is peering in from her balcony, looking more like Bela Lugosi's Dracula than the monster. After a scream, the mob seems to be going in every direction. It's like no one knows where to go in Transylvania. We end the minute with Elizabeth waking up in a secret lair, with two white streaks down her hair. The monster is leering over her.

We continue with Elizabeth trying to keep Freddy under control. Just as he is leaning in, she commands, "No tongues!" After kissing, he becomes somewhat passive-aggressive. He refuses to use his tongue at all, including answering her. His words come out as mumbles as he exits the room on his knees. We then discuss an interesting scene from the script with Inga, which is not the movie. We close with the monster walking and Elizabeth singing a verse from the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

We continue this minute with Freddy sitting on the floor like a lap dog. He is holding a mirror for Elizabeth. It is easy to see he is still worrying about his monster, but Elizabeth will hear none of it. Trying to take him mind off the situation at hand, she puts on a playful, but sexy voice about her room down the hall. Freddy wants her to stay with him. She will not let him, even when he tries to ravage her. She tells him he is a tough guy for making the tough decision to wait until the wedding night.

We continue with the angry mob gathering in the town square. Inspector Kemp and his right hand man address the crowd. Kemp has decided that a riot is an ugly thing and it is high time they have one. The crowd is enthusiastic and this fires up Kemp to say Frederick will curse the day he was born a Frankenstein. They charge toward the castle of Baron von Frankenstein. We then cut to Freddy on the floor at Elizabeth's feet. He is so worried about his creature but she tells him not to be.

We begin today with the guard taunting the monster. After a few more taunting comments, he goes to light his cigarette. The monster starts to whine and look frightened. He strikes a second match and inches closer. The monster has had enough. He reaches out with both arms, pulls Rudy at least two feet in the air, strangling him. The monster drops Rudy to the ground and begins to rip his chains off, sounding like electricity! As we end the minute, an angry mob is gathering.

We begin with Inga answering the question from Elizabeth about her role. In fact, she remarks, they were having an intellectual discussion tonight when Dr. Frankenstein interrupts. He speaks something unintelligibly before asking Igor to help with the bags. As they turn to go inside, Igor says if the doctor needs any help with the girls before being shushed by Freddy. We then cut to the prison cell where the monster has been startled and now a sadistic guard seems intent on having a discussion.

We begin with Dr. Frankenstein calling out, "Darling," to Elizabeth who responds in kind. Freddy pays the driver and Igor has a near duplicate scene with Elizabeth. Realizing she is off her game, she suggests to Dr. Frankenstein that they should retire. They make their way to the front entrance of the house where Freddy inadvertently calls her his financier. Then he destroys an attempt at saying fiancee. The scene ends with Elizabeth asking Inga, "What is it that you do do?"

As we continue, the table is lowering and we now see Dr. Frankenstein is holding a controller. As the table lowers, we see Dr. Frankenstein and Inga are naked beneath a sheet. They are enjoying a cigarette after their apparent intellectual discussion. Frau Blucher is chastised by the doctor for interrupting his work. She says it is important. She says a telegram just arrived announcing the arrival of Elizabeth, his fiancee. Frau Blucher advises he put on a tie first before going out to meet her.

We continue today with Dr. Frankenstein trying to figure out how to bring some normality to the creature's behavior. Inga, ever sympathetic, begins to kiss Frederick's fingers one by one. Dr. Frankenstein responds with multiple moans. As soon as Inga places his hand on her chest, his eyes pop open. As the scene wipes, Frau Blucher enters with a note in her hand, asking for the doctor. We hear his voice from somewhere and suddenly the table begins to lower.

We open today's episode in the panic of the opera house. Dr. Frankenstein is trying to regain control of his monster, but to no avail. The monster shoves him across the stage where he falls into a pile of lettuce and cabbage. The monster then does a stage dive into the police and after a brief struggle, the cops lift the creature onto their shoulders. We end with a shot of the monster in chains in a prison cell and Dr. Frankenstein showing true signs of worry over the fate of his creation.
