The Wilder Ride

Now that Dr. Frankenstein and Igor have the coffin loaded on the cart, they want to make it back to the castle as quickly as they can without being scene. Unfortunately, they hit a rock in the road, spilling the coffin and the corpse's arms dangle out of the broken sides of the box. Just as they get the coffin back on the cart, a constable walks by and make an inquiry of the good doctor. We are happy to have Paul Sullivan of Sully Baseball still with us on The Wilder Ride. 

As soon as the grave diggers leave, we watch as Dr. Frankenstein and Igor make their way to the newly dug grave and begin to dig. Igor seems to approch the task in a more dog-like manner. They eventually manage to get underneath the coffin and push it up onto its side. They then load the casket onto their cart with the rain pouring down and leave the cemetery. Our continued guest is Paul Sullivan from Sully Baseball who is joining us on The Wilder Ride. 

We continue examining the sketch made by Igor and as they hang it on the wall by one of its corners and they let go, it swings back and forth as we push in to a man swinging on the gallows, newly hanged. From there we head to the prison cemetery where the body has been buried and cross is pounded into place. Dr. Frankenstein and Igor are watching through the gate, waiting for the gravediggers to leave.

Continuing their pedestrian breakfast, the doctor continues to read from his grandfather's notes. He realizes he would need a very large body to make the experiment proceed more easily. After a discussion with Inga over the size of various body parts, Igor presents the doctor with a sketch of what they might need. Our guests today on The Wilder Ride are private investigators Ben Peacock and Matt Gray.

It's obvious Dr. Frankenstein has been reading his grandfather's notes all night long and after stumbling across the electrical know-how, he declares that IT COULD WORK. We dissolve to a beautiful breakfast the following day where everything seems rather ordinary.

After finding the room and trying to decide if the cigar-smoking violin player is still lurking about, Dr. Frankenstein realizes he's stumbled on his grandfather's private library with all of the notes on how he brought his creature to life.

The trio realizes there is a light coming from a door from across the bottom of the stairs of the laboratory. They rush inside to try to catch whomever might have been playing the violin, but the room is empty. There does not appear to be another way out. The plot thickens.

After a dazzling light show of sparks and smoke when Dr. Frankenstein throws the first switch, the second one reveals the entire laboratory where Victor Frankenstein brought his creature to life. We even hear a distant echo of words from long ago before Dr. Frankenstein calls it a filthy mess.

Only Igor could possibly give us both a jump scare and a fall on the floor, laugh out loud, moment. Now joining Doctor Frankenstein and Inga, they continue to explore the bowels of the castle, still drawn by the sound of the violin playing. Also...Happy STAR WARS Day from all of us at The Wilder Ride.

Dr. Frankenstein and Inga make their way to the bottom of the stairs and come upon a door with a fragile handle. Once inside they see bottles and then a row of dead skulls at various stages of decay.

Having figured out how to keep the bookcase open, Dr. Frankenstein and Inga begin to explore into a deep and secret part of the castle interior where it looks like no one has been in a long time. Being the gentleman that he is, the good Doctor suggests Inga needs to tie her robe before continuing. Wait, what?

Having been trapped on the other side of the bookcase, we now begin a series of tests to figure out how to get Dr. Frankenstein back into his own bedroom. Realizing the physics of whatever mechanism controls the movement of the bookcase follows no set pattern, he decides he will use his body to stop it from spinning all the way around.

Now that both Dr. Frankenstein and Inga are focused, they move to the bookshelves to find the source of the music. They eventually stumble across the mechanism to open a secret passage, but not without trapping the good doctor on the other side.

We spend some time analyzing the peculiar shouts of Dr. Frankenstein during his nightmare and the entrance of Inga who is worried about him. When he calms down from his nightmare, he realizes there is music playing from somewhere in the castle. And why are we suddenly channeling a one-hit-wonder by Toni Basil?

Frau Blucher finally bids the Doctor a goodnight, but before leaving, Young Dr. Frankenstein catches her caressing and kissing the painting of Victor Frankenstein. As we pass into the later hours, it appears the Doctor is in the midst of a strange dream.
