The Wilder Ride

We begin with Igor continuing to chew on the piece of potato he shoved in his mouth. Dr. Frankenstein seems to consider the advice Igor just shared from his dad and then resigns himself that maybe it was all for the best and that poor hulk was better off dead. At this point, we see the fingers on Frankenstein's creature begin to move and we get the "oh, doo doo" music. We return to the three eating Black Forest Cake when Dr. Frankenstein hear's what sounds like Igor making a "yummy" sound.

We finish up the angry town hall meeting where Inspector Kemp decides he pay a visit to Dr. Frankenstein have a little shat. Meanwhile, Frederick, Inga and Igor have changed for dinner and are midway through when Inga notices Dr. Frankenstein hasn't even touched his food. He immediately begins to mash the food on his plate with both hands, leaving Inga with the hint of a pout. That's when Igor steps up with some heart-warming advice his father had once told him.

We continue with the town hall meeting as Inspector Kemp finally addresses the crowd. He reminds them that a riot is an ugly thing and apparently only bloodshed can bring it to an end. At one point, he monocle falls from over his eye patch and he has to clean it along the buttons of his uniform before putting it back in place. He begins to offer a counter-proposal to the HOA, telling them they need to make sure whether or not the young Dr. Frankenstein if following in his grandfather's footsteps.

The angry HOA meeting is still taking place and after a call to keep things from turning ugly, the elders call upon Inspector Kemp to say a few words regarding the situation of the new Frankenstein in town. After an hysterical series of slaps and movements to light his cigar and put his own finger out, the Inspector takes a few steps into the room to strike a pose and make sure all eyes are on him before he decides to speak.

We watch as Dr. Frankenstein begins to fool us and himself that he is okay with his failure, only to turn around and begin to strangle his own dead creation. After Inga and Igor are able to gain control of him, they struggle to take him back upstairs as the young Dr. Frankenstein calls for his mommy. We then shift to an angry town hall meeting where the male villagers have gathered to raise their grave concerns over the happenings at the Castle von Frankenstein.

We continue from yesterday with Dr. Frankenstein still administering CPR but even with his own hand in the way to cushion the blows, he cannot seem to bring his creation to life. He makes a valiant attempt to appear noble at the failure, but eventually his anger gets the better of him and he begins to choke the life out of the already dead hulk.  Today we once again welcome back Tom Taylor of the Indiana Jones Minute to The Wilder Ride as we continue to breakdown Young Frankenstein. 

The storm as faded and the doctor checks for some initial signs of life before demanding to be lowered. While descending, he feels for any warmth to the creatures head or face. Once down Dr. Frankenstein continues to look for signs of life as Inga rushes over to him. He then begins to perform CPR on the creature. We are once again pleased to have Tom Taylor of the Indian Jones Minute join in with us on today's episode of The Wilder Ride. 

Now that Dr. Frankenstein has ascended, it's time for the lightning to do its thing while Igor is commanded to throw the first, second and the third (not the third) switch. Dr. Frankenstein commands the universe to bring his creation LIFE! After a moment, while the storms fades, there is a eerie glow pulsating on the face of his creature. We are pleased today to be joined by Tom Taylor, one of the host of The Indiana Jones Minute. He comes to The Wilder Ride with a healthy love of Young Frankenstein.

Dr. Frankenstein delivers what can only be described as one of the best monologues since Shakespeare himself penned a phrase. We now see why Premiere magazine ranked Gene's performance in this film as being in the top 10 best performances of any film of all-time. Closing out the week with us on The Wilder Ride, we are happy to again have the host and co-host of B.K. on the Air, Barry King and Mike Clark.

We begin with Inga's hand still massaging the back of the doctor's when he suddenly looks to her and asks to elevate him. The flustered Inga asks if he means to do it there, to which he says, yes, raise the platform. Recognizing he wasn't on the same page, she goes over to Igor where they both get ready to turn the wheel that will eventually raise the platform. Just before the do, Dr. Frankenstein confirms his creature is dead before beginning an almost Shakespearean monologue.

We continue gearing up for the experiment with Dr. Frankenstein shouting for Igor to get down quickly. As he twice asks if Igor understands, suddenly, Igor is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the doc, asking why he's shouting? After a brief pause to make sure Igor still isn't up there, they begin to ready the rest of the equipment. There is a moment when the doctor is lovingly stroking the monster's chest, while Inga, feeling her affections growing, places her hand on Dr. Frankenstein's other hand.

We begin with the experiment to bring the creature back to life just starting. It starts with a slow tracking shot of some huge and oddly studded boots on the feet of Dr. Frankenstein's monster. Inga thinks it looks hideous but the doctor thinks he's beautiful. He also seems to have a bit of a God complex forming. Igor is up in the belfry trying to get a dual-kite to stay up in the sky as a menacing thunderstorm is approaching the castle.

We begin with Igor peering through the drop box of the local Brain Depositary before he puts his arm through and then unlocks the door. He then makes his way to the brain of Hans Delbruk. As he is about to leave with the brain, his reflection in the mirror is suddenly lit by lightning, scaring him and he drops the brain on the ground, ruining it. Realizing he still needs to bring one back, he grabs the one marked as an AB Normal and "Do Not Use."

The Young Dr. Frankenstein continues to admire the specimen he has created and only lacks an equally impressive brain. Before he can send Igor out on to get the magnificent brain of Hans Delbruk, Dr. Frankenstein notices Igor's hump seems to have moved from one shoulder to the other. Rather than get into a debate with Igor, he dismisses it and sends Igor off to fetch the perfect brain for his creation.

The night constable still wants to have a conversation with Dr. Frankenstein who is doing his best to make it look like the arm of the corpse is his own. We also try to figure out why the constable is wearing what looks to be a World War I Kaiser helmet before our duo is allowed to reload the coffin on their cart. Once they return home, we are treated to the horrific scene of two huge bare feet staring right at us. We are still joined here on The Wilder Ride by Paul Sullivan of Sully Baseball.
