CBS Sports Radio Show -9/2/18: Michael Lombardi, Vinny Bonsignore, Gilbert Manzano & More | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:30:52

Silver and Black Today became Raider Nation's Sunday morning therapy session as we discussed the big news of the Khalil Mack trade and what it means for the Raiders moving forward. Former NFL general manager and player personnel executive Michael Lombardi of The Athletic joined us to give us his insight on why the deal is better for the Raiders than most think. He also stated it was the right move if Jon Gruden is following a philosophy similar to Bill Belichick in New England. Vinny Bonsignore of The Athletic also gave us his level-headed view of the trade and told us why it's a much different situation than the Los Angeles Rams found themselves in with Aaron Donald. He also discusses the long-term view of what it means for Oakland as they head toward the move to Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Review-Journal's Gilbert Manzano helped us with some insight into the trade but also broke down the 53-man roster cuts that seemed to get lost in the Mack trade news. That included the release of wide receiver Martavis Bryant who was acquired during the draft for a third-round draft pick. Manazano says everyone was surprised by the trade which is why media reaction has been very spirited. In our second hour we shifted attention to the future of the Raiders - Las Vegas. Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Sun gave us the lowdown on the team's initial parking plan for the new Las Vegas Stadium. Although there have been some vocal critics of the plan which utilizes off-premisis parking and a system of shuttle buses, Akers said the plan is very much like other NFL stadiums. In our final interview of the day, Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board member Tommy White stopped by the CBS Sports Radio studios to give us the latest on the constructon of the stadium. White said the project has faced some challenges caused by the unprecedented weather the area encountered this summer but that the project is right on schedule.  CBS Sports Radio Show - 8/19/18 - The Athletic's Vinny Bonsignore, Bill Rabeor The Fan in Green Bay | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:31:08

The Raiders reservers didn't impress on the field in a 19-15 loss to the Rams in their former home - the LA Memorial Coliseum. With the exception of the undrafted rookie free agent running back Chris Warren III, the Raiders offense looked putrid. But there were plenty of highlights on the defense. The Athletic Los Angeles NFL writer and columnist Vinny Bonsignore joined us in the first hour with his observations from the game. Bonsignore said both the Rams and Raiders have problems at backup quarterback heading into the rest of the preseason. He also was impressed with Warren who he thinks is the real deal. Bonsignore then offered his view on the new tackling rule and Rule 12 - the rule which penalizes defenders for landing on top of quarterbacks. Bonsignore thinks the NFL should give the referees a break and allow them to use instant replay at their discretion to make sure they get calls right. In our second hour, Bill Rabeor of WUDZ The Fan in Green Bay joined us to preview the Raiders next opponent - the Green Bay Packers. Rabeor talked about the a fully healthy Aaron Rodgers and how the team may miss former Packer Jordy Nelson. He also discusses their upgraded tight end group and their impressive defensive front. We also introduce Matt's new segment - The Audible. Each week Gutierrez will choose an at-large subject to discuss on the show and we take your calls to hear what YOU have to think. It's time for football Raider Nation as we head into Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason and the start of the second Jon Gruden era for the Oakland Raiders. We update you on the news out of training camp this week and discuss the sustained national criticism of Gruden for being "out of touch" with the modern game. Next, we welcome CBS Sports Radio national radio host, and 10-year NFL vet, Tiki Barber. Barber talks about Gruden's return to the sidelines and tells us why he likes what the Raiders did to remake their roster.
